My husband and I and two sons ages 2 and 4 had a wonderful day out. There were loads of animals to see including lots of big cats and wolves which my boys had not seen before.
Plenty of play areas for little ones who need to let of steam. Great soft play with cafe so you can have a coffee break while the kids play.
Littlebird deal for a £25 family ticket made it even better value!

We had been once already this year but decided to take the older ones and I have to say we still enjoyed the day if not more this time round then the first time. We got some great photos of the big cats and again we ate at the restaurant which served lovely food at a decent price. i will be coming back again soon with my budding photo taking teenager and can't wait

I love this zoo, i visit it all the time. It has plenty to see and do, it is always clean with wonderful staff and volunteers and the animals always appear to be so much happier than in any other zoo i visit. I would give it 10 stars if i could...well worth a visit.

I have been going to paradise wildlife park for years. I have a passion for Tigers and my friend loves Lions so when we found out that they had white lions it was a must to visit. It's also the first time I had seen jaguars and snow leopards. I made it my mission to visit nearly all the zoos and wildlife parks in the Uk. So I can definitely say with confidence that it has unrivalled access and vantage points to get as close to the big cats as you would have wanted. If you feel the need to get in closer as I did you can feed their big cats. In 2008 I fed Rocky and Narnia the then resident tigers and it was an experience I will never forget with photos, a certificate and T-shirt :-). A few years later I bought my friend a feed the white lion experience of which the fees also goes toward the animals upkeep. The keepers are always pleasant and knowledgable about their animals and it was in one conversation that I found about the work being done for big cats at WHF (wildlife heritage foundation) where I have been on a photography course which again was another unforgettable experience.

You don't have to be passionate about big cats to appreciate how accessable the animals are. Most animal parks do NOT let you see all areas of the enclosure so you often have a wasted trip if specific animals are feeling a little unsociable. Most of the biggest Uk's zoos do not have such access to their animals and this is where paradise differs.

There are many opportunities to have close encounters with penguins, meerkats, lemurs etc and you are able to purchase feed which you can give to farm animals, tapirs, reindeer, zebra etc. It's almost like a behind the scenes experience at paradise and I will continue to re visit them. It really is the best wildlife park I have been to.

Many years ago... I visited Paradise Wildlife Park. I think it's safe to say that PwP wasn't very well known back then... People didnt know where I was talking about! Well how times have changed!! I have since visited on a regular basis and have been twice this year already.

This fabulous little zoo really is a great day out!! Now I can write this from 2 points of view... As a young family first of all, but as a Support Worker in the local area for adults with learning difficulties.

For a family, this zoo is just perfect! The "I'm tired" and the "my feet are aching" and "carry me's" are eliminated!! With all the big animals of the larger, in your face zoos yet all in a manageable smaller area. The area of the zoo is ideal for young children, there are plenty of places to sit and relax while wondering around the enclosures. This said... The enclosures are more than enough space for the animals. Not at any point have I thought, ooh they could do with some more space! From the farm, to the lions to the family fave meerkats, all animals are extremely visible for tall and small visitors and are all well kept. With affordable extra activities and places to eat this makes it even more appealing... With cheaper ticket prices to the large chains and lower spending money requirements make it all that bit cheaper for a family of 4.

Now... Remembering what a lovely time we had as a family. I decided to use it as an activity for my service user. She has severe learning difficulties and can show challenging behaviour, she is also wheel chair bound. So... Off we went one sunny Tuesday for a trip to the zoo! The discount for wheelchairs and carers is brilliant, it's lovely to be able to do these things, and paradise wildlife park have made it available by offering these prices. Wheelchair access was perfectly adequate throughout the park and there were no animals that were out of eye shot for her. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us and we were made to feel very welcome indeed. With staff standing to the side to let us through and even helping to clear a path through the small crowd of school children that had formed round the white tiger, to help us move on to the monkeys!! With animals so close, it really gave a full sensory experience to my service user as she could smell, hear and see the animals... In fact the reindeer were so close we could have touched them! On a budget, we wondered about entering the shop, however to our delight once again this was affordable and she was able to spend her pocket money... Once again the staff were faultless in their interaction with my service user rather than ignoring her (which unfortunately happens in a lot of other attractions.)

I cannot fault Paradise Wildlife Park... With adequate facilities such as toilets, seating areas, shops & cafes, they really do cover all bases at an affordable price. A great day out for families, work trips, young couples or grandparents... Can't wait for my next visit!!

Living 100 miles away we only get to visit about four times a year but it's worth the drive. The keepers are great and there are many talks if you are interested. We are going back on Saturday for the primate weekend and were there in April and June to see Zuri (white lion cub) as well as September last year for Red Panda day which was a fabulous day. They have a great range of animals and it's a wonderful place to take pictures. The zoo has a lovely flow to it as you walk around and the animals look happy and well looked after. We have visited 46 zoos/wildlife parks over the last couple of years travelling many miles in the UK and Paradise is in our top 5. If you love big cats then this is the place for you as once their jaguar returns they have all of them

A friend and I, took my two young girls to your wildlife park for the day this summer holiday and we had a lovely time! Would and have recommended this park to family and friends looking for a day out which is not our local zoo's such as howlett's/portlyne.

Having read your reviews before hand we was a little worried, BUT ---

We found the signs (which was many) to your park was very good and thankfully didn't get lost at all. The price I thought was honestly reasonable for the day especially as you did get close to the animals and also the childrens play area's.

We didn't eat so can not comment on food prices as took a picnic, which you had plenty of room to do this. Only thing I saw that was too overpriced compared to other places was the children's face painting, but mine are to young for it anyway.

I personally think you have a great selection of different animals, compared to zoo's i have been to before, which was nice to see and learn about. The animal's seemed to fit, healthy and relaxed with their environment and especially with their keepers. We saw 1 of your keeper's get into the racoon enclosure which it didn't seem to mind and came up to him, which was very sweet. Another keeper was giving a tour and called over, by name, some primates (orange thing i think they was) and they came to the glass to see him and met his guests.. With some people's comments regarding small cages was a little wrong, big cats don't wonder unless looking for prey and they seemed very happy relaxing in the sun. The only animal's I saw a little upset was your white tigers, but they was separated which is most likely why and your wolves, but i see you've open a new enclosure for them which again is probably why.

Children - We had plenty of room with our double pram and other people could still get past. Your park seemed very child and disabled friendly which I thought was very good. Your activities and park area looked very good, as someone mentioned before the disabled play area name, i think needs a new name which maybe you could run a competition or something maybe on your facebook page? Loved your water area, the day we went was very hot but sadly i didn't know you had this so didn't bring the children swimming clothes. Your toilets (normal and baby changing) was very clean and didn't smell. The gift shop was reasonably prices so my two, got a present each :)

All together we had a lovely day and would def visit again. You do great work and was a lovely park and animals. We are also interested in your wedding venue, maybe I will have a look at that next visit.

ps, if possible a ramp at the other end of the big cats would be great.

Have visited here twice this year, once in April and recently two days ago. I only live 15 minutes from from the park, and often used to visit here when I was very little.

I work as a nanny so took the children aged 4.5 years and 2 years old, my sister and my mum. We had a lovely day. Good selection of animals to see, we loved seeing the wild cats the best. The children loved the play area with the slides and climbing things, hard job to drag them away!

We took a packed lunch and found plenty of benches and tables to sit on. Spent all day there as found there was plenty to keep the kids occupied. Liked the bouncy castle there which was free to use, and the helter skelter slide and a climbing inflatable. The train ride for £1 each is good to do.

Would definitely recommend the park. We always use Tesco clubcard vouchers which work out great value for money. Would recommend park to families and also people without children. Would like to try one of the meet the animals experiences one day.

Paradise Wildlife Park was easy to find,
The staff were friendly, courteous and kind.
The park’s well laid out and spotlessly clean,
Take a trip there yourself, you’ll see what we mean.

It was a birthday treat to see a white lion cub,
But first we watched 3 cheetah brothers devour their grub.
Their keepers talk was full of great facts,
And the beautiful boys responded for snacks.

Then off to see the proud mum and her little mite,
A cute little cub; her mum’s tail she loved to bite.
Regal looking tigers and other big cats you’ll like
But we feel in love with the white lion tike.

It’s not just big cats there for you to see,
There’s snakes and primates included in your fee.
There’s plenty more to see and so much to do –
Meerkats, Red Pandas and Penguins too.

The food in Sam’s dinner was actually great,
And not over priced – something we hate.
If you’ve got kids, there’s ample place to play,
We loved it so much, we wished we could stay!

A hidden Gem of a zoo. I have been visiting for the last five years. There is a great variety of big cats along with many other animals such as wolves, meerkats, lemurs and penguins to name a few. It is incredible to see the big cat feeds, especially hand feeding the cheetahs!

There are many activities for children to keep them busy all day and in any weather.

Although quite a small zoo this makes it perfect for making the most of your day, flitting between enclosures and for young children/elderly who may get tired in larger zoos and it is also pretty flat.

Plenty of food stations are dotted about the zoo for ice-creams, drinks and snacks, also a diner for more hearty meals, although we usually take a picnic.

I have been coming here for years and I have always loved the variety of animals they had but every year it gets better! One of the newest attractions is the Lorikeets. Buy a pot of nectar and have them eating out your hand! It's an experience guaranteed to make you smile.
The whole park is flat and easy to get around for buggies and wheelchairs and it's perfect for a family day out!!
Go and you won't regret it!!

This Wildlife Park has plenty of opportunities to practice your photography with the high walkways perfect for getting shots above the fencing at all the big cats.
Another great attraction is going in with the Lorikeets, grab a pot of nectar on the way in and be prepared to have an arm full of birds feeding, an amazing thing to experience!
Would recommend this attraction to anyone!

Visited Paradise yesterday (second time this year) and we were so pleased to see Ares the jaguar back again. We've been visiting this great zoo for a few years now and are always sure of a lovely day out. The big cats are brilliant, the cheetahs are beautiful and we were lucky enough to see the little White Lion cub Zuri in February shortly after her birth. Yesterday she was sitting happily with her Mum enjoying the sunshine and looking much bigger! It's a great place to take children as there are plenty of play areas and snack bars as well as the animals. Also plenty of little animals the kids can touch with lots of handwashing facilities nearby. Took loads of photos again yesterday! You can wander around the cats easily as the zoo is compact and nicely laid out with lots of flowers and seats etc. The keepers are friendly and happy to answer questions. All in all, a good place to be!

I've visited Paradise Wildlife Park many times since a very young age with my parents and older brother, and have seen it continue to grow.
My most recent visit was on 26th August 2013, during which my mum took part in an 'experience day' in which she got the chance to hand feed a tiger as part of her 50th birthday present. She absolutely loved it, and me, my brother and dad were all also able to get as close to the tiger as she was, and also joined her on the tour beforehand. The keeper that took us around was extremely friendly and made us all feel very welcome.
We also got chance to enter the lorikeet enclosure with a pot of nectar each, so that the birds landed all over us - which was great fun too.
Overall the zoo has a great selection of animals and all of the keepers are well educated on the animals, all of which are clearly very well looked after. A great family day out.

I have visited Paradise Wildlife Park many times over the last 20 years and am always impressed with the improvements and changes made each time. This proves that all the money visitors put into the zoo is well spent.
I visited on 26th August for a extra special visit. My children had bought me the most fantastic animal experience - I went to feed a tiger! Keeper Aaron took me to see Rocky the Tiger and I fed him by hand! It was the most wonderful experience - I could feel his breath and at one time he even licked my hand - obviously only to get the last bits of blood off my hands but it was still amazing.
There are so many other experiences available, that I may be tempted to do another one!
I would certainly recommend this as a day out for adults and children as there is something for everyone.

We Visited on the only day it seemed to rain over the summer this year with some friends from Poland, and we all had a great time.
Its a convenient location as it is easily accessible by car, and they also run a shuttle bus from the local train station.
It has loads for the kids to do, with a large playground and a few small rides, so even really little ones can get involved.
All of the animals look well looked after and seem happy in their enclosures.
Everyone seemed to enjoy seeing the big cats the best.
Overall its a great day out for the whole family, and you can easily spend all day there.
My only criticism is I find the food in the restaurant a bit expensive for what it is, but it does the job, I would recommend taking some food of your own to help keep the costs down.

I have been twice in the past year in and thoroughly enjoyed both times. Once at the start of the year in the snow which made the park feel magical and again during the summer heat wave which was a nice change for the UK. The range of animals, interaction and information provided is to a very high standard and I highly recommend at trip with small children. The red panda and meet the Meerkat experiences are very good as I was involved and witness both first had. Overall its a great day out and lots to see.

We went to Paradise Wildlife Park for a return visit for the first time this year. As always it is great for younger children as small and compact and little legs don't have too far to walk. Plus there is a big play area and a splash pool. They are always making improvements to the place and reinvesting. My only down point would be the price of the food but they are very happy for people to bring their own picnics. At over £40 for one adult and 2 kids it is not a cheap day out ( especially as you then pay extra for train rides and go-charts etc.) so make the most of it and go for the whole day.
I love the big cats so will be back next year. Also a good place for school trips!

First off, let's try and make something very clear. The care of animals and the conservation of species is the reason that places such as this exist. It's not there so you can go ooh and aah at the big cats for free. It costs thousands of pounds a day to keep such a place as this open, whether 1 person turns up or 5000, whether it's sunny or rainy, whether you stay for an hour or all day.

Sadly, most of the thousands go to the government. Because of this, I don't begrudge a single penny of the admission charges I pay for the privilege of being allowed to get safely close to animals I would never otherwise have a chance to see.

Secondly, anyone who ever experienced the old (and deservedly maligned) Broxbourne Zoo must surely remember the awful, cramped conditions the poorly kept animals were housed in. Those who have been or are planning to go to Paradise... take a look at the coati mundi enclosure: that's where they used to keep one of the big cats! Paradise has changed itself beyond all recognition from that abysmal place.

Right. Rant over.

I've visited Parade quite a few times over the past couple of years: mostly with my wife, sometimes with my teenage sons and a couple of times with close friends. It never ceases to prove itself to be a great day out.

I've also been lucky to have been given as presents some of the "Experience Days", such as the Tea With Tigers (a guided tour of the big cats followed by a very tasty tea in the Tiger Treetops café) and the Photography Experience (expert tuition followed by "up close and personal" visits to some of the enclosures). I loved getting among the lemurs!

I've never visited with young children but those I have seen seem to be enjoying themselves. Apart from the obvious attraction of the animals, there are the usual playground facilities, a paddling pool, face painting and a stage area which has entertainment shows.

To put it simply, you'll get out of the day whatever you're prepared to put into it. I'm always there with my camera in the hope of getting that fantastic shot that makes everyone say, "Wow!". On our recent visit we saw one immaculately dressed young lady making faces and looking for some way of washing because a goat had licked her hand.

We walked among lorikeets who spent ages chewing on my ears or biting my necklace and depositing messy little packages all over my hair and clothes. We then heard someone complaining about the smell coming from one of the cat areas. Er... these cats are territorial and mark their boundaries with urine. What did you expect?

My point is, don't expect all areas to have been vaxed and bleached. These animals are in as natural an environment as possible, which is how they should be if they're in captivity.

So, Paradise Wildlife Park is, in my opinion, a great place to visit. The animals are well looked after and the staff obviously love caring for them. It's worth going back at different times of the year to see the differences seasons can make, especially to the grounds.

Finally, if the cost is a little too steep for you, it's well worth checking our their Facebook page as they'll often have a code for £10 off if you spend more than £25. Just remember that practically every penny goes to the welfare of the animals and to their supremely important conservation work.

And yes, I've already got my tickets for the next visit in a month's time.

Paradise Wildlife Park is just fabulous, there are a wide range of animals which all look healthy, well looked after and happy in their surroundings which for me is a must! I loved seeing four of the five species of big cat and look forward to returning in October to see the new jaguar! I was blown away at how close I could get to take a photo of one of the beautiful white tigers, which appeared to be posing for the camera! the white lions are a gorgeous little family and my nephew whom I took for his 3rd birthday was very happy to see them on their new 'bed' as he says, since he witnessed Moto destroying the other one a year ago at our last visit! my favourites are the meerkats, I love that you have the clearest view of them and I can watch them for hours, they are all cute little characters, in fact my nephew felt I was spending too long there and dragged me away! the site itself is very clean, and has good amenities. There is so much to do and see for the little ones (and the big ones) and it is obvious that they are making improvements all the time, as I say I can't wait to return in October to see not only the jaguar but the new wolf enclosure/walk. my nephew loves it there and has very strong memories from his visit when he was 2 and again now from our most recent visit, he talks most about Moto the lion and Bobby the parrot, who always says 'hello', love him, such a character! no two visits are the same as there is always something new to do or discover, it is an amazing day out. I particularly like the minibus service from the train station since I can't drive, it makes it hassle free getting there, although I preferred it when it was a complimentary service (who wouldn't) but £1 each way per person is a reasonable charge and as I said it does make things easier! would recommend this as a perfect day out for anyone who loves animals - five stars! can't wait to visit again very soon! I visit Paradise Wildlife Park frequently with my son as I have a season ticket (great value!!). The animals seems to be very well cared for and the keepers are always friendly. I recently fed the ring tailed lemurs as my birthday present from my husband and would highly recommend it! A great place to spend some time all in all.

All animals looked happy in their environment and well taken care of. A******
