This is local to us and we have been several times over the years. Every time there has been great improvements and this last visit was the best yet.
Staff are plentiful as well as helpful.
The animals are well cared for and it is a great pleasure to walk around.
It is a very popular place to visit so expect some waiting around in order to get in. Parking though is not a problem as there is a huge "overflow" car park. Disabled parking is available in the "inner" car park.
There are many places available to sit, have coffee, eat....... and the food is quite acceptable.
A perfect place for all the family - enjoyment for all ages!

Took my 7 year old grandson for the day. Plenty to do,lots of big animals and plenty of other things to do. My grandson loved the safari stage shows as did all the other children there....was like a big party with bouncy castles, ball park, paddling pool and lots of eating places....he loved the chips!
Probably not like any regular zoo so much more fun
Looking forward to going again
Tired out Nan

We viisted on a hot, busy weekend and what struck me straight away was how clean and tidy public areas were, despite the number of picnics happening. The park was full of families with young children and yet the picnic areas were spotless - no overflowing bins or rubbish left lying around. Full marks to the staff for keeping on top of things. Now for the animals, which is the reason for visiting...... The staff are very knowledgeable and are happy to talk about the animals in their care. Many have worked at the zoo for years and are really proud of the work they do to raise awareness of endangered species, contribute to breeding programmes and reintroduce some animals to their natural habitat. It is also possible to arrange special experiences such as shadowing a keeper, meeting lemurs etc which gives a "behind the scenes" insight into the ethos of the park and how the animals are cared for. The park is family owned and run, which means that there is real invovlement in the running of the park and it shows in the care and attention given to both the animals and the visitors. One previous comment reads that there were too many play areas, yet one has to remember that very small children need to let off energy at frequent intervals! They are then able to stand and watch the wildlife with patience and there are many viewing areas which are set at child height to enable them to do this. Despite not having a young family myself, I was very impressed with the overall experience the park is trying to give young families by encouraging them to learn as well as have fun. Long may this little wildlife park prosper - many of our larger zoos and animal attractions could learn a lot from it!

Went with my husband two children aged eight and eleven and my brother on Friday 26th July. Not overly crowded, no queue as we had booked online and got great discount (google paradise wildlife park discount codes, we got 10 off for every 30 pound). So was not overly expensive. What struck me was the amount of staff (in a good way). They are certainly not short staffed. Ate in main restaurant having read reviews here. Good value and perfectly fine for this type of place. Serve beer which went down well!! Animals are well cared for and the zoo is well laid out so you get a really great view of the animals.highlights are meerkats being fed; the tigers and the tiny squirrels. Kids loved cooling off in splash pool before we left.and our son went in the racing cars which do cost extra but v good value for one pound. You can easily spend a full day here, bring a picnic if you want to as there are loads of picnic tables. Would call this a hidden gem.

We visited this wonderful zoo yesterday with our church family from Chadwell St. Mary, in Essex, 31 of us. None of us had been here before. My wife Jilly found it on the Internet. It was such a pleasant surprise to be in such a friendly zoo. The staff, from the girl that took our tickets to the girls in the cafeteria, and all the other staff scattered around, were exceptionally helpful and went out of their way to please. The environment for the animals was really animal friendly but enabled us to get great views of them. Sitting eating out lunch in the high level café we looked out to see the most enormous tiger looking at us from about 30 feet away! Not a large zoo to trek round for hours. Everything within easy walking distance, but it wasn't overcrowded. Everywhere was spotless and exceptionally child friendly. A wonderful day out, and as we were a group our tickets were £8 instead of £16 each. Great value. We will be going back again.

I was lucky enough to receive a Meet the Meerkat Experience as a gift.
It was definatly one of the best experiences in my life! I would definatly recommend it. The keeper was so friendly and made me feel so comfortable around the meerkats.
If you get a chance to see the cheetahs being fed, do it! You are so close to the action if you stand up on the belcony. it made me quite nervous when they stare up at you at such a small distance away!
I'd recommend this zoo for all ages.

My boyfriend took me to the Zoo Keeper For A Day experience. We started off cleaning out the Zebra enclosure then went on to interact with most of the animals inside their enclosures. You get to hang out and feed the Squirrel Monkeys, Limas, Meerkat and small Birds. It was also a very educational day learning about the history and facts of each animal. Overall, it was the most amazing experience.

We attended a “Have Breakfast with the Animals” session, which entailed a hearty breakfast, followed by about an hour feeding various animals, including tapirs and farmyard animals. It wasn’t our first visit to the Park. We celebrated our daughter’s birthday there five years ago – and the park proved to be all we had remembered and more. There was so much to do, with tractor and train rides, golf, crazy sand activities, talks and tours. New activities included feeding the lorikeets, stage show and a forest walk. As well, were the old favourites: paddling pool and the indoor and outdoor play areas. The facilities are really good and are recommended for families with children of any age, although younger children (13 and below) are more likely to enjoy the facilities more. However, the food was atrocious. There was a large restaurant which was reasonably priced and the quality of food was acceptable. However, we went to the Tree Tops restaurant, where the scones we were served had gone mouldy and were not fit for human consumption. Then we tried to buy hotdogs and the girl refused to use gloves to handle the roll and claimed she didn’t have any tongs to take the sausages out of the hot water! All in all, the choice of food was very poor, with two places running out of hotdogs and one shutting far earlier than the Park itself. Make sure you bring your own food!

My colleagues bought me a meet the Meerkats experience for my birthday. It was a fantastic day out we purchased an additional meet the meerkats for my friend. The keeper was very knowledgeable and friendly and the meerkats were so cute, one sat on my shoulder for ages and kept sniffing my face and ear! The park was being refurbished in places but still a great day out which really did take all day. Got some great photos and wonderful memories!

We visited the Zoo in Mid June. Our tickets pre booked on the internet as Disabled (my wife ) and carer(me). The initial thoughts are that the car park was spacious, A minor criticism is that the disabled bays were a little small. The big bonus is that toilets are provided in the car park so you can sort yourself out at leisure after your Journey without having to panic when you get in to the actual zoo. The bonus for disabled visitors is that the toilets also have a seperate left and right transfer toilet for wheelchair users.
Upon going to the entrance we were fast tracked because we had booked our tickets on line and were given a free map as well.
Our first call was the zoo shop and it had a good range of goods/souvenirs at reasonable prices. The only downside was that the stock of larger sized t shirts and polo shirts was out of stock.
We then took advantage of the beautiful garden and benches next to the shop to eat our sandwiches and have a drink.

On to the animals, they appear well looked after and all enclosures were very clean, despite a review here stating that the Otters water was filthy - they clearly didnt read where the otters originated from and clear water would not have done them any favours!

So much to see and the stars were definitely the Red Pandas who were great to watch at feeding time. The free flying bat exhibition was worth the entry fee alone to stand while the fruit bats flew all around us was my particular highlight.

The Zoo definitely excels with its Big Cat exhibition and the cheetahs, Tigers and Lions are magnificent - The walkway which also has disabled access allows an excellent all three of these cat species. Also going right to the end of the walkway takes you face to face with the Beautiful Snow Leopards. This walkway seriously makes ZSL's new tiger territory look poor in comparison.

Paradise gives you three Bengal tigers (one Orange two white ) ZSL has two orange sumatrans in two seperate enclosures that are so huge they are rarely seen. Paradise has three lions including a 6month old cub.Plus Cheetahs, Snow Leopards and Ocelot.

In addition there is the mini rain forest exhibits and reptile house. Not forgetting the Gibbons who made such an amazing noise it had to heard to be believed. I've been to Zoos for years and never heard this before so their Gibbon community must be doing really well and happy.

There are some beautiful birds as well.

We did go back to the Tigers for feeding time and were treated to an amazing sight as the tiger climbed a ten foot pole to retrieve it's meat and a fantastic talk from the keeper who also hung around afterwards to answer questions and talk tigers!

This was a great day out and all the staff in shops, keepers etc were very pleasant and happy to talk . Disabled access is absolutely brilliant, plenty of toilets and plenty of well kept animals to see. Hugely recommended.

Pens way to small. Many of the animals looked very stressed. Especially the big cats. The whole site is very crammed. Great for children and easy with a pushchair. Food typically fast. And a little pricey. Entry fee not bad. Work go again.

We have been to Paradise Park a lot through the years, but today was a very special day and I imagine was because Mr Sun was out at 31 degrees (so rare in Britain) We have a lovely time feeding the animals and then went to have a hotdog. We have come on a special visit to see Peppa Pig and had pic with her :), little one was so happy. Then decided to go to the blue lagoon so the kids could splash around and cool down and played on the adventure park. And all day non stop fun. Plenty close parking. Its a friendly place if you cant walk about too much. Even it looks like a lot to do its all done very cleverly and its not much walking to do. Perfect for a family day out

Went for a family day out. Its a nice clean well maintained place, only downfall for us was the food. Very over priced. £10 for 2 very bad bacon sandwiches which came with very burnt toast. I'd advise taking your own food

I bought my husband a 60th birthday gift of Shadowing a Big Cat Keeper and feeding a big cat
It started at 8.45 with my husband and I offered refreshments then we were shown around the big cats and told all about them Our guide Tom was the most pleasant person you could wish for and made us feel like royalty as he took us around. We had another lady and her husband with us
who were also lovely people. During the tour we watched training and how they checked the cats
After a short break my husband was treated to mucking out a relatively clean cheetah cage
and then preparing food for his lion feed. We were shown other food preparation areas and told what food was used. after another short break We went to Rocky the tiger and the lady with us fed him
Then we went over to the white lion where my husband chose to have his feeding experience
At this time my son arrived at the park with his partner. Tom was quite happy to wait while they found the enclosure which I thought was really nice of him. My husband had a wonderful time
We took lots of pictures and movies We then went to food preparation where my husband prepared food for Ocelot and leopard he then took it into a empty cages and put the food out
After that he took food and threw it in for the cheetahs and was taken in to stroke wolves
My husband was given a £5 voucher for food or drink and that ended the experience
We spent the rest of the day at the park having a picnic as it was one of the hottest weekends of the year. We finished our day watching Rocky the Tiger having his big feed of the day .
A wonderful day made special by a wonderful keeper and good weather
It is expensive but well worth it for a special occasion and money goes to supporting park and wild life conservation
This is an ideal place for children lots of play areas and picnic areas

I'd never heard of this place before until I saw a special offer (half price entry on Amazon) which I took up. Whilst this is not a huge zoo and some of the enclosures are a little small (as others have commented) they have a large number of animals and all seemed to be very well cared for and happy. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and there were lots of keepers talks during the day. The animal experiences look amazing too, something I've not seen any other zoo offer. The high level walkways (wooden decking) was a nice touch and allows you to see some of the animals both from ground level and above. The facilities for children are also very good. It is good value for money particularly if you can get one of the special offers.

It is well sign posted from the A10 (just as well, because it's a bit off the beaten track!). There is also a shuttle bus from Broxbourne station.

We went here to celebrate our goddaughters 2nd birthday and as such our friends booked the birthday package. This was very good and gave you access to the park, a walk around the animals with a guide, initially, and the opportunity to feed some of the animals. Time to watch one of the shows, then back to the Discovery Centre for the 'party' where food and drink was supplied and the children had a visit from Safari Sam! After this there was another show and a trip on the train. Then time to go round the park with 'free time'.

Ok, to now break these down! The walk around was good, it gave us time find out where things were for our free time later. The show we saw was The South East Asia show - very disappointing, all the children got to see was one snake and one owl - and get a 'green' lecture and asked for donations!

Back to Centre for the 'party'. The sandwiches supplied were excellent as were the party food boxes that each child was given. I found one member of staff pretty officious and rude - it's not my fault she has to work with children and animals all day, she should have followed W.C. Fields advice - never work with children and animals! All the other staff were very helpful and friendly.

The visit by Safari Sam was a bit dire - he walked round the room once, in silence, waved and departed - all in 5 minutes. Still, I think the children were happy enough, but then most children are easily pleased!

Then we went for the train ride - five minutes (if that) round bushes with the occasional plastic animal thrown in for good measure!

Ok, I'm looking at all this through adult eyes - I don't know how much this all cost our friends, but all in all I expect they got good value. I do however think the title of Paradise Wild Life Park is misleading, Wild Life Park makes it sound as if it caters for ALL age groups and good for adults. In my opinion this isn't the case, it is only geared up for children, and young ones at that!

So all in all, a great day of kids!

Me and my fiancee had the pleasure of spending our anniversary at Paradise Wildlife last week. We took up the "meet the animal" experience and were able to come face to face with monkeys, Meercats, Topiary's and more. It was a very intimate animal experience because our tour guide was taking us into the cages where appropriate.

I've been to some amazing Zoo's in Europe but never has an experience been so eye opening and fun and beautiful. Paradise Wildlife Staff are just so passionate and well informed, but they also have the most amazing relationship with the animals. For us, the meerkats stole the show. They were unbelievably friendly and played with us for a good 10-15 minutes. I want one now. lol

We also got to watch the Big Cats being fed. I understand that you can feed them yourselves if you take up the experience package. I've never seen so many big cats in a single zoo before. Definitely their speciality! What a site!

It's a smaller zoo than some of the bigger ones in Europe but this is exactly what makes the experience so much more intimate!

Definitely bringing the kids along next time!

The love all the animals at Paradise Park but there is one I am taken with and that is Zuri the White Lion Cub.

We could help but watching her non stop annoying Moto who usually is intimidating to humans. Moto truly adores his baby girl however we were told that due to the law changing the breeding of white cats Lions and Tigers has been stopped in the UK.

We had booked a Meet The Meerkats experience for the morning. This is an opportunity to feed the meerkats and then spend up to half an hour in their enclosure. We arrived early and had a good wander around the park, visiting white lions, tigers, snow leopards and all sorts of other animals. The park is well laid out, with high walkways so you can look down into the enclosures without disturbing the animals too much.

PWP is quite compact, so it's a nice walk around to see all the animals, without being exhausting. The Meerkat experience was exceptional, with a marvellously helpful, informative keeper and meeting a family of 17 meerkats, including four babies was just breathtakingly wonderful.

There were quite a few school groups around the park and it's well laid out to accommodate groups of children, with grassy areas where they can eat sandwiches and lots of play areas, with a helter-skelter and bouncy slides. This place has something for everyone and I'd recommend it highly.

My Partner and I recently visited the WHF for his Birthday. From the start we were greeted by the friendly staff and given a safety briefing before embarking on our experience. The facilities were lovely and very fitting for the park. The staff were knowledgeable and obviously passionate about the animals. We were shown round the big cats and learned about the valuable work they are currently doing to try and preserve the various breeds, which are vastly becoming extinct. We met the hand reared puma, who was funny as she had a strong character and didnt want to adere to the keepers requests, she was like a typical lazy house cat! Very entertaining! We were taken on a tour round to see the cheetahs, tigers, Lions and Lepoards and then we were treated to spending quality time with the four white Lion cubs, where we were able to take fanatstic pictures and interact with them. To finish off we had a tasty big English breakfast. Throughout our visit to the park, the staff obviously wanted us to enjoy our experience, but not at a cost to the animals (which i liked and is how it should be) they were clear on what to do and what not do do as to not startle the animals. This was a fantasic experience and one I would definatley reccommend. I fully intend on re-visting the park in the future. Thanks to all of the staff for making our experience so special. Kind regards Sam & Dan :-)

liked the zoo but thought the housing was small and basic the zebras were in a small area that was a concrete base no grass some of the animals looked fed up ,also the play area and rides were a bit shabby but the entry fee is not bad ,also good parking at no extra cost, the zoo in out in the country you travel through wood land to get to it
