Lunch for two today outside on the terrace - the food and the service was absolutley outstanding. The ‘crab moussy thing’ has taken on a legend of its own and the John Dory with crab ravioli was superb as was the mushroom, Stilton and walnut butter ravioli. The little touches such as homemade bread, plus dips and the chocolates to finish add the most lovely touch.
We cannot recommend this restaurant and their staff and chef more!

Such a great evening - only in Jersey for one night and definitely made the right choose booking!
As we walked in, the ambience set the tone for the evening. A busy restaurant full of chatter and what looked like delicious food.
We were shown to our table by the most fabulous host, whom we later discovered was the manager married to the chef, what a great team.
We opted for oysters and were recommended to try the chorizo fried as well as natural. Wow - what a combination of tastes. All works deliciously well.
Main course we chose the catch of the day. Delicious too. Well cooked and presented too. My partner chose fish n chips. So fresh and the best chips she has tasted!
Overall a lovely evening. Good food. Good hospitality.
A bonus was the little extras, curries bread, olives and humous. And the exquisite chocolates after dinner.
Well done on a great little eatery. Great food, ambiance and a lovely team of at tentative friendly staff.
Thank you to everyone.

The food was exquisite and the service was welcoming, friendly and attentive. There was nothing pretentious about this place. You would be welcomed if you turned up in shorts or in your Sunday best. Price wise, it’s high end, but quality comes at a price and is worth every penny.
It gets booked up, so book in advanced, especially if your a tourist.

While on holiday to Jersey we came across a hidden gem of a restaurant. We had a set lunch menu which was 5 courses and what a tasty treat it was.
Better than a lot of high priced London restaurants.
Nicely presented and brought to our table by friendly staff.
Reasonably priced with ample portions.
Clean, light and airy place.
Would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Prior to dining here, the only mullet I’d had was sported atop my head (and not a pretty sight it was). Now, I’m educated on how this humble fish can make a splendid dinner.

Absolutely love The Bass & Lobster. Food is just so different and delicious. One Fish eater. One Vegetarian.
Unbelievable choice of homemade ice creams. Love the gesture of the complimentary bread and nibbles and the homemade chocolates at the end of the evening.
Staff - particularly Front of House just make you feel ‘special’. A lovely ambiance. Definitely our favourite restaurant right now.

I'll be honest, we used to go here quite a lot 3 or 4 years ago and it was always very good. Very fresh, quite innovative food.

Went here the other day again for a change and were left quite disappointed really, especially for the money we paid. The food is nicely presented and looks and tastes pretty good, but with that tastes quite processed in the sense of over analysed and cooked. And my partner's main was significantly oversalted and she likes quite salty food. They were very good and took it off the bill which was appreciated but just surprised that it was sent out in that condition.

Something of a hidden gem in Gorey and you might well miss it if you didn't know it was there. Looks more like a pub from the outside but in fact an excellent restaurant.
Simple and airy decor inside plus a warm (sometimes overly) welcome creates a relaxed feel. The menu is always changing and there are specials as well as a good standard menu and naturally you can be sure that local food, particularly fish, will feature heavily.Everything is beautifully presented and portion sizes seem just about right so you can happily enjoy 3 courses and savour the flavours without wading through too many extra side dishes. I had scallops, salmon, and then bread & butter pudding - and it was hard to fault anything. Most of the other dishes I saw also looked very appetising, although perhaps a tendency to have a spicey feel to the menu which might be off-putting to some.
The feature of the menu is very much the unusual homemade ice cream flavours to select from with options such as stilton, curry and bubblegum flavours at £3 per (very small) scoop. To be honest, this is a bit of a distraction as the main desserts were perfectly fine.Service was prompt and attentive, although perhaps a little too over-friendly for some but the food is what matters and cannot be faulted. Excellent value and is difficult to beat anywhere else in Jersey - well worth a visit.

Absolutely delicious food, the majority (or all?) of which is locally sourced and attributes the farmer/fishermen etc on the menu who grew/sourced the produce.
The flavours and accompaniments are interesting and often unusual, including a number of interesting savoury ice creams.
A special mention for the king prawn tempura, which was just lovely and light, and the catch of the day with the most delicious potato cake. The other dishes chosen were from the daily specials and were all really good.
We couldn't manage a dessert but we did take note of the lengthy selection of ice creams, some of which were even sweet!
We also really liked the Sippin Unusual Citrus G&T - very refreshing! (SIppin being a local gin, and they also had a local rum called Indica, which we didn't try but was in another cocktail.)
Service was very pleasant - prompt and attentive.

As expected, it was still delicious.
I went two days in a row.
The combination of ingredients is innovative and professional.
I really think that something with elaborate seasoning like this is delicious.
If I come to Jersey, I will go again.

(It says British cuisine, but I think this restaurant serves French cuisine.)

Superb!!

The seasoning and presentation are delicate.
Perfect way to grill scallops and fish!
Moreover, the use of Asian spices and herbs is exquisite!

I regret that I would have liked to go there more often if it were nearby and wanted to try more of the menu.

Next time I'm in Jersey, this will be my first stop.

Just returned from Jersey and visited the Bass and Lobster twice. The food is amazing, great value and exceptional service. When we visited 2 years ago i really had my heart set on the lamb but they had none. This time on our first visit i noticed lamb on the specials so went for that. I was told the last one had just been sold. I was gutted. I explained how i had missed out 2 years ago. We mentioned we were back for lunch on Thursday so Mini who served us told us she would make sure there would be a lamb special for me on our return. Thursday lunch came and true to her word Mini had ordered me in a lamb special even though not on the menu that day. Thats what i call exceptional service. It was well worth the wait. Tasted amazing as did the rest of our meal. Can't wait to return. Thanks mini and the whole of the Bass and Lobster team.

A phenomenal meal out with friends. We’ve always enjoyed The Bass & Lobster, but our dinner last week was exceptional. The daily specials were to die for, the desserts sublime and the little touches such a freshly baked homemade bread with oils, hummus and quails eggs aperitif to the homemade chocolates with the bill. Front of house has just the right mix of humour and attentiveness without being overbearing…what a great team. We’ve been telling everyone how wonderful it was, so I hope we can still get a table again soon!!

A planned visit on our trip to Jersey which was an absolute pleasure and surpassed all expectations.
A beautiful relaxed dining experience, faultless service which was warm and welcoming. The food was just fabulous in every way, from the sourdough bread and hummus served with our drinks to the delightful crème brûlée.
We dined three courses, we all chose different and every plate of food was exquisite. The chef and his front of house wife, maitre d are clearly passionate about their business and it shows.
An unforgettable, fabulous lunch for us to remember and I’m not fibbing that I’ve told everyone here in Lancashire they have to visit Jersey and book in. Thank you 🌷🥂

Recommended to us by our hotel (The Moorings), we booked for a Tuesday evening and had a brilliant meal.
The food was fresh, delicious, good portions and fantastic flavours. Also good value.
Service was also 10/10
The best meal we’ve had in Jersey so far.

Excellent food, very fresh seafood and the meat is locally sourced too. Wine list is good with nice selection and for Jersey its reasonable in price. Service was excellent until last 40 minutes where it became very slow and frustrating, waiting over 30 minutes to order dessert. However would definitely come back
