Went here as there was a sign outside with a 2 courses for £12.75 deal on, I had the salmon starter and chicken main and my partner had the fish cakes and then pollock tempura and chips. I thought the food was very tasty and great value for the price. I'd class this restaurant like a very good quality pub grub kind of place, would recommend for a quick meal or a family dinner. Not so much for romance. Total price with a glass of wine each and bottle of sparkling water was only £30

Ate here last year and were so impressed. From the greeting of the friendly staff, the modern decor, to the plates of food which we all agreed leave your taste buds tantalised. So good we are coming back to Jersey and especially to the B&L this year for a 40th celebration.

This restaurant is an essential part of any trip to Jersey and I would urge both residents and visitors to sample the delights that are the "Bass & Lobster". This is simply outstanding cuisine in casual, yet elegant surroundings. The Staff are extremely efficient and friendly and the Chef is truly talented and has created not only a menu utilising the very best local produce, but that also reads beautifully and the dishes are beyond expectation both in presentation and execution. The A La Carte and the Specials Menu should be temptation enough but there is also a 3 course menu available for £15.50 which is unbelievable value. My very favourite restaurant. Now, when can I go back to Jersey?!.........

I stopped here on my way over to France (via Jersey) - I'd found the reviews on TA and decided to give it a whirl. Brilliant. Ii had 2 courses of excellent food for £10!! Yep, that's £10!! The set lunch menu had 5 or 6 choices for starters and even more for mains.
Salmon Tartre was just to die for - lovely fresh salmon and a warm potato mash terrine...with a lovely horeradish creme Fraiche...Ffollowed by Pollock fillet wrapped in parma ham with homemade gnocchi (lovely) and giant prawns served in a pea and mint sauce...sounds different, and it was.
Ii would HIGHLY recommend a stop here on your way to the Jersey Pottery :-)

i would recommend this restaurant to anyone the food was fantasic and everything was cooked perfectly. All i can say bad about the place was that when we arrived the service was fine but after the starters the staff got distracted by the glasses that needed cleaning and seemed unaware the restaurant had customers. Overall a very good experience.

Ate at the Bass and Lobster for the first time a few weeks ago. The tempura king prawns were stunning. Wish I could eat there every night. My friends had the sea bass and brill - they also adored their meals! My new favourite restaurant on the Island!

What a great place. I have been twice this year to Jersey, specifically to dine, and this place beats the rest. We visited in August and have just returned.
The food produced here is packed full of taste and attention to detail. Scallops are on every menu in Jersey but none are as well prepared or presented. The menu is everything you would expect from a 'Gastro Pub' at great value. It allows you to eat anything from a Burger to a Fillet Steak, providing everyone with options, but when it comes to the table it comes with love and attention. Its clear passion is involved from the Chef and his team.
Just a great place to eat - go there, but book first they are always busy

I have now been twice to the Bass and Lobster (first time was last summer). The food was fantastic, my wife went for the special deal menu which is probably the best value for money on the island and I had one of the daily special on the board. Everything was spot on, seasoned to perfection and you could tell the seafood was top quality. The only downside is that although the restaurant was quiet the second time, the waitress didn't seem to want to speak or even smile to us. A real shame because we had a great chat with another lady and even the chef last year. A definite winner, make sure you keep some space for dessert!

Booked a couple of days in advance and had to take an earlier table as they were busy. Great choice on the 2 course set menu for £15. Food, wine and service was excellent. Quiet when we got there but within 45 mins the place was packed and this was a Tuesday night. Definately book in advance

we found the staff to be very pushy /intrusive and were constantly interupting our dinner and conversation to try and sell us more drinks. this spoilt the atmosphere for us. they were probably told to do this and might even be on commission, but this is not what we expect from an expensive restaurant (no fixed menu on a friday night)
On that basis I could not recommend the restaurant, or return. The menu offered a range of food and the presentation and quality was very good - what a shame that the staff spoilt our evening

What a fantastic restaurant - great decor, great service, great staff, great wine and great food. The bill was not a problem for us! A shared starter, 4 main courses, 3 desserts, TWO bottles of sparkling wine, 2 soft drinks, 2 liquers and 3 coffees and all for less than £40. Absolutely excellent. Its just a shame I live in Bromley otherwise I would be eating there every week - my father, who lives on the island, will be flying the flag for me. Well done to everyone involved in the running of this restaurant. And thank you for the experience.

As soon as we walked in we were pleasantly surprised, the decor is classy but comfortable, not stuffy at all. Friendly service, relaxed atmosphere, good location near Gorey Pier (under 10 mins walk). Simple and relatively short menu but I wanted almost everything on it, lots of fillet steak and seafood. We were served another tables food but the staff were natural and friendly enough for it not to be an issue, only complaint was the cooking of the fillet steaks of which we had 4 on a table of 7, not one was cooked as requested. We ranged from 1 blue, 2 medium rare and 1 medium. All came well done, one nearly dry. The wine list was priced ridiculously, cheapest bottle was about £16 for an average white, which took would should have been an excellent £40 meal up to £50 per head. All in all a good evening, question the value for money slightly but will go back.
