Perfect service & food. Could not have wished for a better meal. Recommend the Bass & Lobster main course & also the Turbot. Sipping Rhubarb Gin is also delightful

Absolutely perfect service & food. Had Oysters for starter which were lovely & fresh. Our main courses were the Bass & Lobster and the Turbot with mussels could not fault & everything was fresh. There Sippin Rhubarb Gin was also perfect with Ginger Ale.
Would thoroughly recommend & will definitely come again next time we are in Jersey

Went for dinner on last night of holiday, booked prior which I would suggest. Great atmosphere, all staff so friendly and welcoming lots of ideas from kitchen too. The food was fantastic, three lobster starter original tasty and perfectly presented as was the foie gras. The bass and lobster main was a delight for the taste buds. Definitely worth the visit loved it.

Fantastic meal with friends, set menu had a great choice both vegetarian and meat, super service with a smile.
I'm told the tartar sauce was the best in a long time.
My chicken curry had lots of additions, yoghurt sliced almonds and the bhaji had the lovely addition of chicken Leg, the Caesar salad with lightly pickled quail egg that raised the food to another level,
Sadly we are on the island only a short time otherwise we would have booked then and there to return.Yes we picked a challenging ice-cream alongside the lovely deserts.

Easily the best value top quality meal on the island. Staff are lovely, food is incredible. Try to get in while they have the Crab Moussey Thing (real name) on the menu, it's to die for!

I’ve been meaning to leave this review since returning from a family holiday in Jersey but the weeks have run away with me. I booked a table here after looking at reviews online and as a group we couldn’t have been happier that I did!
I rarely leave Tripadvisor reviews but this place is absolutely worth the effort to report on.
It is without doubt the best restaurant that we ate at on this holiday. So good that after our first meal we booked again and we were only staying for another 4 days at that point.
Not only was the service fabulous and food exquisite they went above and beyond to cater for the vegetarians in our party, producing a menu with even more vegetarian choices for our return visit. Kirsty (I really hope that is the right name) explained all the of options in detail to both the coeliac and vegetarians in our family group. She also spoke about where the produce is sourced and was interesting, helpful and friendly in an effortless way. It’s rare to find service like this but when you do it’s always at the very best of places.
For the meat and gluten eating in our group there were equally as delicious options. The combination of flavours and the thought in the dishes is up there with some of the nicest places we’ve eaten at over the years. The bill here won’t leave you wincing like some of the latter . It’s incredibly good value for the quality and service.
I’m still dreaming of the fried oysters and still disappointed in myself for only ordering three!
We will be back the same week next year and will phone to book in advance. I might pop over for a long weekend before then and I know where I’ll be eating if I do!

I booked this place a week before we arrived in Jersey and got the last table for that night. I am so glad we did. This place is outstanding. Right from the moment you arrive visitors are treated so well. The food is excellent: we had the lamb and lobster. Both were amongst the best we had ever had. Highly recommended; reservations essential.

You know when you go somewhere and you get treated like family when you’ve just rocked up … this is that place, brimming with enthusiasm about all things local produced and seafood we were literally hooked. We booed B&L before we even got on Jersey’s shores and oh my we weren’t disappointed, when I met an old friend in St Helier today who came earlier in the week I knew we were in for a treat ! You must eat here if you are visiting jersey end of….

We had lunch at this amazing restaurant. The menu was incredible, it really was difficult to pick. In the need we went for ‘the moussey crab thing to start’ and the fish and chips for main. The food was 5 stars. The service was excellent. A real gem!

Quite possibly the best starter I’ve ever had. Caesar salad with King Prawns, Crispy Bacon and pickled Quail’s Eggs - perfection. Rest of the food was great too.

Myself and two friends were walking around the Island and chose The Bass and Lobster for our dinner in Gorey. We had an excellent meal, highlights, fish soup and Lamb Ballotine, but everything we ate was very good.
We were staying about 25 minutes walk away, so after walking all day decided to take the bus home. We asked the very friendly waiter/barman and the waitress/maitre d' where the bus stop was, (just over the road) and headed off to get on the bus. When I went to pay I realised I had lost the group kitty and had just paid with a card when the barman leapt onto the bus with the kitty bag in his hand which he had found under the table.
A lovely honest meal cooked and served by lovely honest people.
Thanks to all, you saved us a trek back in the morning and made what had been a special evening all the better.

From the lovely welcome by Kirsty through to the home made bread, hummus and pickled quail egg amuse bouche to the delicious southern fried scallops (try them - they are a revelation!), and lunchtime set menu for £25 each (changes monthly). This welcoming air conditioned restaurant is a delight. A friendly, knowledgable and attentive front of house team, coupled with a chef who gets the very best out of the excellent locally sourced ingredients made this a lunch to remember for a long time. Outside dining for al fresco lovers and a separate room with several tables available for dog owners. The main restaurant is spacious and well laid out, separate from the dog friendly area for those who don’t bring their pets for lunch! If we lived on Jersey this would be a regular (with or without dog) dine out venue for us.

This is a must visit if you visit Jersey. the menu is extensive in as much as I wanted about five of the starters and six of the main courses but apparently have to settle for one. To overcome this we agreed to swap share our courses som we could both try everything.
As ever dinner starts with the homemade bread of the day with olives, garlic oil and hummus. If I had a main course of that I would have been happy. We chose with the tempura king prawns as one starter and the scallops and chorizo for the other. The tempura was exceptionally light and the asian slaw, coconut aioli and chilli jam perfectly complimented it whilst the scallops came with chorizo, and a pea puree which defied description. Both excellent.
For mains we had the pork and the seabags which again were beautifully presented and amazing to each. The restaurant promotes local produce and my god, they know how to use it. For dessert we went off the specials board for a summer fruit pavlova and a egg custard. The meringue in the pavlova almost floated it was so light.
We were sat at a table next to a wall with one of Raymond Blanc's recipes beautifully framed. If they put their own recipes up, I would be taking those pictures home with me.
Great staff, great food, great atmosphere

Every month my partner and I go out for a nice relaxed lunch and have to say that this place is by far our favourite.
We simply cannot recommend The Bass & Lobster highly enough - seasonal, locally sourced and foraged ingredients - Kirsty at front of house is absolutely delightful, sharing her and chef hubbys passion for great food 😊
Always get a big smile and a warm welcome.
The food is exceptional having now been countless times; lazy lunch, Sunday lunch and evenings, I can honestly say we have never had a bad meal here.
These three courses x 2 for £25 each (both had soup and creme brûlée) and the wine won’t set you back a fortune either. Great food, great value for money x

So full disclosure: when we first saw the menu, we thought it looked a bit pretentious. But we were wrong: the food was AMAZING! We almost went out of our way to come back the next day. The homemade bread and hummus were a great start and the food only got better from there. The menu features local ingredients (see the signs in the bathroom for details) and the dishes made the most of them. Dessert was delicious with a selection of interesting ice creams to choose from, including Stilton blue cheese. An unexpected highlight was the Bloody Mary sorbet - again, we were sceptical seeing it on the menu, but we could definitely have gone for seconds. The owners were really friendly and welcoming; they were attentive to all their customers and really cared about you having a great experience. Finally, we thought the value was excellent: the price was very reasonable for the quality of food, especially in Jersey where restaurants can be quite expensive (and we're used to London prices!). We will be recommending this place to anyone going to Jersey and will definitely be back.
