Quite easily some of the best food I have eaten on the island of Jersey. The table service was friendly and efficient, particularly the Maitre' d. There are many quirky choices on the menu including a range of home made ice creams and water ices. I tried the Stilton ice cream and Mango and Coriander sorbet, they were both delicious and provided a wonderful finale to my meal.

Great food and service. King prawn starter had so many flavours. Sea bass was so fresh. Only downside was that it was fully booked for lunch the following day.

Stunning food, great service… what more do you want? We had the duck and the partridge off the specials list and it was fantastic. Tip, add the Stilton ice cream to the all ready excellent cheese board for extra amazingness :-)

This is my favourite restaurant on the island by far. We had an amazing dinner here last night, being welcomed by the wonderful Kirstie and her team who always make us feel at home. The food was devine, so creative and flavourful, from the freshly home made sourdough to the most wobbly and tasty panna cotta ever. Can’t wait to go back!

Went for lunch everything was simply superb, great waitress (married to the chef), excellent menu, superb food, decent portions, sensibly priced food and drinks.

Will most definitely become a new favourite.

Well, on our first visit to Jersey how lucky we were to find this gem! The roast pheasant with duck liver was perfection as were all the sides, starters and my partner's roast beef. Perfectly finished with a melt in the mouth blueberry millefuielle.

I went to the Bass and Lobster for sunday lunch with some friends. My vegetarian roast was an absolute treat and my meat eating friends were also very happy. The staff were amazing, we felt so well looked after. I had such a great meal that despite only having 6 days in Jersey I insisted on returning for a second visit with my parents. This visit was equally good, we had the feast in the east menu for lunch and It was amazing to have such beautiful food for just £20 for 3 courses with again brilliant service from the staff. Can’t wait for my next trip home so I can come back again. Thank you!

Thank you Kirsty and Dave for another great lunch, outstanding food and service as always. As for the tempura prawns to start with - you really have to try them 😋

This is my third review of the Bass - not something I usually do but I love it so much I don't think I can ever really emphasise enough just how wonderful it is.
During our pandemic enforced absence from Jersey it was the Bass and the zoo I was missing the most and looking forward to getting back to and I'm delighted to report that it was totally worth the wait and standards remain as high as ever. I don't think I've highlighted in the past just how wonderful Kirstie is - she's a massive, massive part of why we keep coming back and enjoying it so much. I believe the two waiting staff on duty were relatively new and I've seen so, so many managers/hosts snapping away at new staff, piling pressure on them and terrifying them beyond repair...Kirstie is the complete opposite. Relaxed, smiling, conversational and the result is there is never a dip in standards and our service was friendly, efficient and never overbearing, with Kirstie checking in to talk us through some of the dishes and the abundance of local produce - she's a joy.
I could rave even more about the food like I always do, it was fabulous and the beetroot/goats cheese starter is nailed on as my wife's favourite of all time but I'd really like this review to really be all about the staff and just the general vibe and exuberance of the place. Already can't wait until we can visit again.

Excellent kitchen and service - interesting with 2 menus, ala carte and a set menu, later with fusion influence. Soft crab tempura to die for as were the sweetbreads.

The minute you walk in the door you are cheerfully welcomed by Kirsty and Danni .
They’re enthusiasm reflects on the amazing locally sourced produce . I ordered southern fried scallops with pea purée dipping sauce
Followed by the Bass and lobster 🦞 the lobster was in a light tempura ….. delicious 🤤 Dining with friends and family . Kirsty was the best hostess .
Great food 🥘 great staff and great company what more could you ask for in this little treasure of a restaurant

Hands down one of my favourite restaurants, EVER. Kirsty and her incredible team really care about food, customer service and freshest quality ingredients.
We arrived late for a drink (the wine list in fantastic) ended up having the scallops starter and then a full round of the ice cream. We booked to come back for lunch the next day. I can not begin to describe just how wonderful everything was. If they could bottle up the atmosphere, food and team - I’d buy it and bring it home - I’d to settle for the chilli salt.

If you go and there are scallops on have them. They were perfect. Additionally the alternative favourite ice creams were brilliant too - chip shop curry was an experience that I couldn’t stop talking about all trip; I think I really enjoyed it. Brought me right back to being 16 and in Ireland.

Anyway, GO book in advance it’s really is a stellar dining experience by a team that really really cares.

The Bass and Lobster
So, where do I start. Welcome, like coming home! Hostess with the mostest the delightful Kirstie, service top notch, and when it comes to the food, Dave you are seriously good! The duck parfait was off the scale, and sharon has asked me not to write what she said about it! Please keep doing what you do as you have it down to a tee. This is a must go restaurant if you like your food. Innovative is an understatement as the combination of flavours and the perfection of pink but tender game, the quail were to die for. Hard working, passionate, foodies to enjoy!See you soon.
Miles and Sharon 😘

The Bass & Lobster is a must visit restaurant for locals, and visitors, alike. Booking in advance is recommended. We had the set lunch on a Tuesday, and it was packed. The service by Kirstie, and her team was very attentive, informative, and clearly showed a passion for what they produce, here. Chef Thorpe Jones and his crew served up mouth-watering dishes showcasing the best of locally sourced, and seasonal produce with very well balanced and innovative flavours. The portions on our 3 course £25 lunch were generous. The path set here by the Bass and Lobster, in sourcing locally, and adhering to the seasons, appeals, greatly to my ethos of how it should be done, and also makes them a prime candidate for Michelin's new 'Green Star' award introduced last year.

We came upon Bass & Lobster while exploring Gorey and what a find! Not too much on the menu which is always a good sign and this was proof when the food arrived. The presentation is close to fine dining, the quality was impeccable and to top it off we even had the owner assisting to serve our table. It was unexpected and we are so glad we stumbled on this gem.

You know when you're full but you carry on eating anyway because the food is just wonderful, well, that's the Bass and Lobster.
I had the Bass starter which is oysters with, parmesan, anchovies, bacon salad and was huge, husband had to help me eat it, he had the tempura prawns, which he polished off happily on his own.
I had the fish, plaice and parmesan with truffle oil chips, husband had monkfish!
Yes, l was full but l couldn't resist the hazelnut brownie with thyme and raspberry sorbet. If you haven't tried raspberry and thyme sorbet, just go to the Bass and Lobster....
Wouldn't go of you're trying to diet, book ahead.
