Identified by its three spires this cathedral is the centre of a diocese covering the West and North Midlands. It is large and free to enter, although a donation would be appreciated. Inside there is much to see and some wonderful stained glass.

Good bit of history about the Cathedral its tranquil and a lot to see there are people to help if you have a question about Chad ect.

It is free but they do like you to give a donation they also have a nice little gift shop.

My "local"'s York Minster, Diane's is Durham Cathedral and quite frankly, Lichfield cant compete with either - there's absolutely nothing amiss, it's a fine building etc..............

A stunning Cathedral in a lovely mainly Georgian city. Free to visit, although donations appreciated. Many interesting monuments, tombs and inscriptions and stunning Herkenrode stained glass. Acoustics are excellent. Well worth a visit.

This cathedral is worth the time to admire the outside with all its statues, before you enter.
It is free to enter but donations are encouraged. The Belgian stained glass is quite magnificent. With so many beautiful statues.
It is very welcoming and wheelchair friendly.

Food and service was first rate and so was the ambiance. Had a lovely lunch when meeting friends. Although the prices are a little high, they are worth it just to experience the area. Only drawback is that parking is a little far away for anyone with limited mobility with a steep hill (albeit a short one) from the main road car parking. Traffic warden was about but was very fair letting me drop off disabled passengers before moving the car.

Decided to have a trip to Lichfield. It’s been a very long time since I was here.
Lovely day. Fantastic centre. Lots of shops. Very clean. Cathedral was wonderful. Cannot recommend a visit to this city highly enough. Will definitely be going again.

We’d never been to Lichfield but ended up here on a mystery coach trip. We thought we’d pay a quick visit to the cathedral but were unprepared for just how beautiful it is. It is stunning! On entering we were greeted by a couple of lovely ladies and offered a complimentary little cake from the local excellent cake shop. What a nice touch! They gave us information and leaflets. We spent quite a bit of time in there and were so impressed with the architecture, the information and exhibitions. We purchased a few of the tasteful little gifts in the shop area. So glad we decided to take the time to visit!

Beautiful cathedral that towers above the skyline of quaint Lichfield.
The detail on the outside is amazing and the stain glass windows on the inside are equally stunning!

The Stations of the Cross exhibition of paintings by Peter Walker was well presented with just the right amount of comment to enable reflection. The Cathedral was welcoming and sensitively run.
It is well worth a visit this Lent.
Just one warning. The Bird Street car park, which is the nearest, is busy, inexpensive and has toilets, but needs maintenance because some of the pay and display machines were faulty. I note that others have commented on this car park.

This huge Gothic style, Medieval Cathedral certainly stands alongside those of other major cities. It has a beautiful interior, the stained glass windows being just one point of particular interest. There are many other interesting features including the unique three spires. It has a rich history dating back to 669AD and continues to be a vibrant place of worship.
The cathedral has a welcoming, warm atmosphere and hosts various events throughout the year. It is free to enter ( donations welcomed) and certainly we'll worth a visit.
The city centre itself has many independent shops and a Saturday market, or you can stroll by the river and visit the park nearby.
We had a lovely afternoon tea at Chapters, the Cafe in The Close next to the Cathedral.

We visited the cathedral whilst on a trip to Lichfield and it was the best part of the day. Its incredible architecturally but also amazing as it's a free amenity and so worth a visit ! It's a very humbling experience but one I'd definitely repeat!

The Lichfield Cathedral is located in Central Lichfield, close to Beacon Park and Market Street. The exterior is highly impressive, one of the most ornate Catthedrals I have visited. The interior is breathtaking, the architecture is simply awe inspiring. Highly recommended.
