We have been to the cathedral before, but went to see the Threads Through Creation exhibition, which was beautiful and thought provoking. Lichfield is a lovely city and the cathedral is worth a visit if you haven’t been before. It’s unique because of its three spires. I withheld a star because there was a lot of pressure to give the voluntary donation, which really felt more like an entry fee. I don’t mind giving and usually do, but the cathedral is a place of worship and prayer where people should not feel they can only enter if they can afford it. I know these places require a lot of funds for upkeep, but let’s remember their purpose.

Nestled in the charming city of Lichfield, the Cathedral is a must visit gem, showcasing stunning Gothic architecture and magnificent stained glass windows.

Currently, visitors can enjoy the captivating "Threads through Creation" exhibition. A stunning display beautifully illustrates the beginning of life and the fall from grace in the Garden of Eden, all depicted on intricate silk panels.

The cathedral is conveniently located within walking distance of nice restaurants and delightful shops.

Additionally, the cathedral is just a five minute walk from Beacon Park, offering pleasant surroundings and a serene atmosphere.
Lichfield Cathedral is a perfect blend of historical grandeur and cultural enrichment.

Well spent time visiting the Cathedral. Entry is free but worth giving a voluntary donation. Lots to see and read. Lots of history. Lots of parking but chargeable. We found street parking free 10 minutes walk from the Cathedral.Visited on

What a beautiful cathedral, it makes you feel totally calm. The stained glass windows are fantastic along with the carvings that must have taken an age to sculpt.

My friend suggested we go to see the embroidery on display and how amazing it was. Visited the shop, purchased some lovely magnets bookmarks and cards.
So enjoyed, even though I probably visit every month.

Today, I visited Lichfield Cathedral and was truly impressed. The cathedral's Gothic architecture, with its three spires and intricate carvings, is stunning. Inside, the colorful stained glass windows cast beautiful light patterns, enhancing the serene atmosphere.

The Lady Chapel and Chapter House are particularly captivating, offering historical insights and peaceful reflection spaces. The knowledgeable guides added depth to the visit with fascinating stories and facts. The well-maintained grounds provided a lovely setting for a relaxing walk.

Overall, Lichfield Cathedral is a must-see, blending history, architecture, and tranquility perfectly. Highly recommended!
