An impressive structure located in a small town north of Birmingham, the cathedral oozes history. The entrance is free, but a small donation, even with a card, is received with great joy.
The stained glass windows and sculptures are amazing, I could say they take your breath away.
It is a place where you can think, rest, pray, find what you want it to be.
I will come back, with great love, anytime.

This was to do the roof and tower tours, something I have wanted to do for a long time. Lichfield cathedral is a stunning cathedral in wonderful surroundings. I cannot recommend the place enough. Even without the tour, to visit the site is a must. Tickets have to be booked for the official tours of the roof and towers, but not for entering and exploring the cathedral itself

This is an absolutely beautiful cathedral, inside and out. It’s free to enter, but of course you can leave a donation and the cathedral volunteers were very friendly and helpful, happy to give you a history of the cathedral. Well worth a visit!

Always a lovely visit here with my toddler.
He finds the sights and sounds fascinating.
The volunteers are all so lovely and quick to want to tell you about the cathedral.

I'm not a religious person but I do like and appreciate architecture. The volunteers do not thrown religion down your neck but talk to you about the history and remarkable building itself.

You do not have to pay to go in but they would ask for a donation if you can give one, you're not made to feel like an awful person for not giving a donation.

We visited a lot in the school holidays especially to use the man made beach. The lady running it was professional and friend. I found the toys in the beach shack shop to be reasonable priced and fun for the kids. Few people dis get confused about not bringing their own bucket and spades. I saw on Facebook that it says specifically to bring your own equipment not sure if more signage needs to be put around about this.

It's a good way to spend an hour or so.

We walked by for the St Giles Hospice elephant trail to which the cathedral hosts many. We were well greeted and the building is beautiful.

Out the front as well there was assorted summer activities for the children. We had a lovely time.

It is worth getting acquainted with the cathedral's offer in advance: paid guided tours with lessons and the possibility of climbing the tower, as well as free tours of the entire cathedral.Visited on

A beautiful Cathedral but I felt that folk felt very pressurised to donate. We were going to see the elephants with some children. I've been many times to services & concerts but feel the way the counter & staff are situated at the entrance is all wrong. I don't have a problem with expecting donations I know all about how expensive it is for the upkeep of Churches however it did spoil the experience & really put me off visiting again.

Lichfield Cathedral, with its iconic triple spires, showcases stunning Gothic architecture. Inside, the intricate details and vibrant stained glass windows, especially the Great West Window, captivate visitors. The serene choir area, Lady Chapel, and the Chapter House with its medieval manuscripts are highlights. This cathedral is a remarkable blend of history and craftsmanship, offering an inspiring experience to all who visit.
