It was a glorious sunny day when we visited the NMA. Arriving at 10am the car park was quiet. Even later in the day as it filled up the grounds did not appear crowded as they are so spacious. All the volunteers we spoke to were very friendly and polite, clearly demonstrating pride in their work at NMA. The entire place is kept in immaculate order. There are many places to sit, rest and reflect. I would like to visit this place again in 100 years to see how all the trees have developed!

Took my parents and Aunt to the Arboretum.
It was extremely well organised and spotlessly clean.
We all had sandwiches and cake with hot drinks. Again very well organised within Covid rules. I had a gluten free sandwich, which was very nice but a bit on the skimpy side ( GF bread is half size) could have done with another round of bread. The GF cake, as were the others, was home made, generous slices, delicious and reasonably priced.
We all went on the land train, as parents and aunt are well into their 80's. Mom is in a wheelchair, the conductor got a lower step and helped her on to the train. Fantastic way to see the memorials with an excellent commentary.
The paths are smooth and well laid out, suitable for a wheelchair.

A poignant and uplifting place with so much to see at every season and so many stories to discover. This is a place which benefits from multiple visits. It is great in any weather - with families, with dogs or alone.
The take away service from the cafe in lockdown was good and the volunteer guides are so helpful.
Highly recommend visiting time and time again to make the most of this unique place.

Great day out in the fresh air, well maintained and value for money with good COVID arrangements and disabled portaloos around the journey.

You now have to book in advance online to come here. £4 to park & a donation if you can.

Time slots given for entry.

Two café areas open for take out snacks.

Car park was fairly busy on our visit.

The arboretum has vastly improved since my last visit.

The grass was neatly trimmed. Lots more memorials with a new memorial to police officers killed in the line of duty being built.

The ponds had mainly goose & a few ducks.

Some of the religious monuments like the Quaker & the Spiritualist were along way down on their own.

You can spend all day reading the vast number of memorials on stones, plaques, tree dedications etc. Each one tells a sad story of a life no longer here. Now nearly 400 memorials in the 150 acre site.

The big white / cream walls which is the armed forces memorial where all the names since post WW2 (1948) are on, didn’t have any entries listed for 2020 yet, but maybe its because of covid restrictions why none were added. Hopefully no more names mean no more deaths.

A chat with the volunteer gardeners is good too. We learnt about the Anne Frank garden, which has a tree which is never allowed to bloom as Anne Frank never saw it bloom either.

Pity the gift shop is still shut.

A wonderfully peaceful and inspiring place to visit. So many monuments and gardens to see, all beautifully maintained, and such an extensive area that you can have a quiet wander. I have visited many times, but I always find something new to admire.

Lovely gardens and very informative. Disappointed that the Lion Shelter didn't have lions though ;-) Will definitely go back at Christmas to see the lightshow.

Well worth a visit, you need to book in and only£4 for all day parking. Very well maintained with volunteers around to answer any questions. Lots more memorials since we last visited. Plenty of benches to sit and reflect very restorative especially after the year we have all had. How lucky are we to have this lovely place on our doorstep? A great spot down by the river for a picnic in the sun. Takeaway food and drinks available on site.
