Very interesting and moving place. I would allow a full day to visit the Arboretum as there is so much to see and I would recommend the train tour so you can get your bearings and then walk around yourself at your own pace. The cafe was good with plenty of space to sit. Booking for the car park is a must.

There must have been many people there even though it was midweek but the place never felt crowded and there was a great sense of peace in the arboretum. Many of the trees have matured a great deal since my last visit which enhances the arboretum side but makes it a bit more necessary to go closer to the memorials to see them.
My group took the land train which gave an overall view of many things but far from all, however there are several ways of getting around if you are not robust enough to walk around the 150 acres.
For me, still, the most poignant of all is the furthest away (to catch the first dawn light) and is the Shot at Dawn. However there are many thoughtful and beautiful memorial designs.
Missed in the past, I ventured into the galleries near the entrance hall. There was plenty to see, featuring memorials from thousands of years ago to now. There was also a fascinating projection onto the floor in one area. Basically it was of leaves which changed as the seasons do, but where you walk you reveal poppies.
Entry is free though merchandise is quite expensive and there is encouragement to donate to help maintain the place. It generally looks well cared for. A credit to those who manage it.

Absolutely beautiful today. I have been a few times but this is the first time I have been on my own. Even for a person who is often bereft of emotions I found it emotional.

Great place to visit, spring for the blossom, summer for the gardens, good activities for kids during the holidays and a good walk. Make a day of it, you won't be disappointed.

Well laid out area. Easy to walk around. Recommend taking the Land Train on your first visit as there is a lot of information gained from the onboard commentary. Plenty of seating at various points around the area. Good cafeteria and helpful, knowledgeable staff.

A beautiful space to learn and remember. It is peaceful to walk along the paths and view the memorials, and there are information boards which give details about some of the conflicts and talk about the symbols used in the memorials. It was a good way to teach our young children a little of the history of conflict without overwhelming them.

For those who want to know more, a land train gives a guided tour of the memorials.

Playground: A sensory play area near the visitors centre, and a children's wood with an obstacle course and field with large wooden toys are suitable for young and older children and kept our boys entertained.

Restrooms: Spotless, even at the end of the day. Located in the visitors centre.

Truly touching experience experience. So much to learn as we meandered around the expansive dog friendly and peaceful grounds. Food was very tasty and reasonably priced too. Would recommend booking your parking.

What a place, you could have the whole day here no problem, had no idea that this place was so big and memorials for things I had no idea about. The land train is well worth riding as you get loads of information. The restaurant is actually really good value and there are volunteers in green that can help with any questions or directions.

Restrooms: They have wheelchair accessible toilets
