We had a lovely day here. It was supposed to be a summer family outing with a picnic and it was absolutely freezing (bad luck!). We still had our picnic in our macs! A lovely, calm (enormous!) space with so much to take in. We went as a family of 6 adults, 1 toddler and 1 newborn. There were loads of benches to stop and rest, the memorials are beautiful, my two year old loved the sensory garden and the commonwealth games zone set up for the Summer. She didn't go on the main play area as it was mainly for older children. Her Grandpa enjoyed taking in the memorials whilst she romped around as a toddler should (so much open space). Her favourite time was the 45 minutes she spent rolling up and down the grass banks, which charmed passers by on the train and on foot. The war memorial was also beautiful and so impressive.
The only criticism was we were disappointed with the stick man trail as we thought there would be sculptures all the way round (like the Gruffalo and Superworm trails at other places). This meant it wasn't so toddler friendly as she couldn't read the big information boards and they just weren't as interesting for her. However, she loved the Stick Man sculpture. Overall, a lovely day well spent!

Attractive, interesting, well kept and welcoming to all. We took our two dogs and we were greeted with water and biscuits by different staff. It really is a lovely day out and requires several hours to see it all. We walked, a lot! However there are land trains and golf buggy’s with guides for those that can’t. Wish I’d known you get cheaper parking if you pre-book. Free entry however.

Cafe is lovely. Suitable day out for all ages, with childrens and family trails (Stick man/Clue solving). We had commonwealth sports activities there too when we went. (Archery/Volleyball etc)

My only criticism is I feel all visitors should receive a map with every memorial marked on it. We were looking for 4 specific ones and couldn’t find them easily. We walked all round but there are hundreds and you struggle to see them all. We managed to ask guides as they drove past us in golf buggy’s, but every time, we found we were at opposite sides of the arboretum to where we needed to be. It’s a huge place!!!! Great workout for us and the dogs though.

A very special place to visit.
Easy safe parking.
Excellent polite, helpful staff. Good selection of food and drink.
Spread over 150 acres, with approx 400 memorials, this place is incredible.
We went on a 45 minute land train ride with audio which we found was informative and enjoyable. Buggy rides and walks with guides are also available.

We visited whilst on holiday. It is the sort of place that leaves you with a lump in your throat when you remember all those lives lost. Glad that we used the land train because you can get to see most areas although you can only get off at a couple of points & you can't get back on - you have to walk. It is a big place & probably only beneficial if you want to see specific areas.

If you are in the vicinity this place is a must. Free to enter with a car park charge, not only is it packed with armed forces interest but also a good full day out with picnic Ares or cafe and coffee shops.

I wonderful place full of amazing memorials.
I ride on the land train was very good.
But the highlight was the buggie ride with Dave Clarke a very knowledgeable volunteer who drove us round this vast site.
The shop and cafe staff are very friendly and helpful to and the food is great particularly the ice cream.

Restrooms: roomy and very clean.

A wonderful place to visit, you can spend hours walking around the 150 acres seeing all the monuments dedicated to the various regiments from all services. Or you can opt for the land train which covers around 3/4 of the area at a gentle speed, and runs on the hour. The café serves hot & cold food , plus a gift shop etc. & helpful staff on hand at all times .
