Enjoyable stay - would return for another short break (and the breakfast 😉)
Room was very good for price. A little overlooked but fine for us. Neil was a brilliant host - friendly, professional and making sure we were happy all the time. The breakfast was amazing and the advice to walk up the road for an amazing view was well worth it.
Nothing really but I suppose we would have liked a bit of a screen from the pub garden.

My husband and I went here for a meal on a Saturday evening.
The landlord and staff were pleasant, welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious, very well cooked and beautifully presented. The portion sizes were just right.
We were pleasantly surprised when we received our bill as we expected it to cost more!We would highly recommend The George.

Amazing
Gorgeous building in a lovely location. Room was clean and exceptionally comfortable bed and linen. Staff were so welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was amazing! Not an extensive menu but plenty enough and delicious with good portion sizes. Outdoor area was clean and attractive we love watching the butterflies that regularly landed on the tables. It’s a fairly small restaurant so make sure you book a table for an evening meal of you want to eat. Breakfast was delicious with good quality ingredients used. Really couldn’t fault the George at all and we look forward to going there again!

The food was amazing - complimentary bread and butter to begin, all the courses were good portion sizes, everything was piping hot and tasted divine.
I took photos of all the food (except I forgot to do the starters)!
We were pleasantly surprised when we received the bill as it was very good value for money. Also, we got after dinner chocolates.

We fell on our feet. I would highly recommend The George for comfort and hospitality.
It was a real thriving pub. The owners were warm and friendly, helpful and efficient. The rooms were immaculate, the bed and pillows comfortable, and the location quiet.
The vegetables lacked finesse.

No off road parking at pub and roads around busy and many others parking on the narrow roads so not easy but car safe in AM!

Our first stay at the George , brilliant pub, Neil,Steph,Hannah and all the team were so welcoming and made our stay the best ever. Excellent beer , food and wine, a lovely spot and will be back ASAP, The meal we had Thursday night was absolutely fantastic, definitely the best pub meal we have ever had , ( hats of to the chef) lovely guy, We stayed in room 5 WOW what a fantastically comfortable bed!!!!! and a good nights sleep, this was then followed by Neil’s full English breakfast, again excellent ( he beat me). We will return

Would have been good to know about the restaurant not serving food Sunday evening or all day Monday, so we couldn’t eat in what looked to be a very good restaurant. Nothing else available in the village, so it’s a drive away.

Booked at the last minute for a night away and meal in the restaurant. We had never been before but what a find every member of Neil’s staff were absolutely spot on without being overbearing. The room we had was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Then came the food it was amazing…… and again the service was exceptional and all for a very reasonable price. This may have been our first visit but definitely won’t be our last. Everyone at the George should be very proud of themselves.

The George at Ashley just 23 minutes from Kettering, 10 minutes from Corby. Food was delicious, I had the Pan fried 8oz sirloin Steak, onion rings, gourmet chips, roasted baby tomatoes with water cress and the peppercorn sauce, followed by an exquisite Chocolate and Cherry pie with ice cream. which reminded me so much of alabama fudge cake with a hint black cherries on a shortbread base. Recommend the Chocolate and cherry pie with ice cream dessert and the staff were welcoming and delightful. We will be visiting again.
