Absolutely love it here. Sophisticated, excellent friendly service and attention to detail. For me, personally, the no children rule is a selling point. Fantastic coffee.

Fantastic treat for a brunch. Peaceful and friendly it’s almost like a private club with no kids allowed. Had a great home made soup and a burger for £7.50. Awesome value. Great service. The best hot chocolate and coffee in town.

Have been to David’s for coffee a couple of times, had sandwiches today, which were excellent. My daughter had ham, which was of good quality, I had salmon, my husband had cheese and tomato. All ingredients freshly prepared, seasoned well, can’t remember when I enjoyed a sandwich so much!
Also prices are very reasonable, will go earlier next time as they shut at 4pm.Thank you for most enjoyable lunch

.... after our bus from Bulmer Tye failed to turn up. Following a soaking 30 minutes in the cold we took a taxi into Sudbury & went to David’s for a warming cup of coffee. They could not have been nicer. I had to make a business call so did it from there & we left a couple of hours later, restored by their welcome, their friendly hospitality, their tolerance of our muddy boots (we were on a round trip walk from Foxearth), and their excellent coffee. There is a warm uniqueness to the ambience in David’s which, I suspect, owes much to its owner.

We opened the door of another place for brunch on a Saturday and was put off by the amount of children’s push chairs and toys everywhere so quickly closed the door. Then I remembered David’s. We hadn’t been in the day time before so thought we would give it a try. Was glad to see a sign on the door saying ‘no children under 13’
Were met by lovely friendly staff. Loved that they had plenty of newspapers to read. Sat down and were given menus. We chose 2 soups and a sandwich to share. We also had a coffee which was probably one of the best coffees we have ever had and a great hot chocolate. The food was fantastic. Tasty and fresh. Once I’d finished the newspaper there are very interesting books you can read or buy which ever takes your fancy. Absolutely loved this place. Will return next Saturday!

Stopped off for a coffee and lunch. My husband and I had a large latte and cappuccino which was very good and very reasonable price at £2.60. And a cheese and ham sharing board, Which was very nice. We saw others with thier sandwichs which I will probably go for next time they sounded good and looked great. They only do breakfast and lunch during week but friday and saturday evening they do steak dinners.

Relaxed atmosphere; all the Daily papers; comfortable seating; marvellous coffee, tea, sandwiches of wonderful bread with generous fillings; Danish pastries & cakes are positively scrumptious! Sudbury is one lucky town having David's Continental Cafe within its environs. ..! Oh, and a terrific staff who go beyond the call of duty!!

Having moved away from Sudbury nearly thirty years ago on a return visit we wandered through the town centre and surrounding streets and in need of a pit stop chose here. Friendly welcome and relaxed environment we enjoyed tea & coffee along with an afternoon cake. With newspapers provided and a good choice of snacks and meals this offers a lovely venue to sit and rest. With the deli counter also offering some take away items this is a welcome addition to Sudbury's collection of eateries. With many other outlets offering access to children then the policy of David's is not unreasonable in providing an adult only sanctuary.

We were visiting nearby Chappel and took the train to Sudbury in the hope of finding a nice independent coffee house for coffee and cake. We found just that, here at David's.
At last a place where adults only can relax and not have screaming, moaning and tantrum throwing kids nearby. I have children and I firmly believe that more and more places should adopt child free policies. Well done David's for taking the bold stance.
Our coffees were delightful as were our cheese scone and lemon danish.
Ambiance is second to none, seating is plentiful and comfortable, toilets clean and tidy.
We will return for sure. If you could open a child free branch in our home town, that would be Great!
