Just love 'David's. It always has a great atmosphere and brilliant friendly staff. The food is always freshly cooked, so worth any wait. Visited with friends and enjoyed the chicken escalope followed by the most delectable and heavenly cherry sundae.

For either a cup of tea or coffee or for some freshly cooked food this is a must if you visit Sudbury in Suffolk.
David's is a 'deli-cafe' just along from the main Sudbury high street therefore it doesn't have it's own customer parking facilities. It isn't big but it is quaint and well laid out.
Service is excellent especially if David, (who runs the place and is the chef!), has time to come and have a chat with you. He is a very interesting and entertaining guy...Coffee's are excellent - freshly made from the beans. Teas are good. The menu is short and really is only a snack/light lunch menu but the food is very well cooked and prepared. It's excellent...
Light sandwiches to cooked bacon sarnie's through to smoked salmon and poached eggs... It is a good range to suit most. There is an abundance of up to date newspapers, books and magazines which customers can read whilst they relax.
Prices are reasonable.I have been here several times now and I highly recommend it... but please note - no children under the age of 13 are accepted for obvious reasons... That makes the ambience/atmosphere very relaxing indeed...

This is the perfect cafe/bistro.
The food is delicious and represents exceptional value for money: a balance rarely well struck in today's dining industry. I often come here to study, and perhaps that says it all. The venue is as peacefully idyllic as the food is delightfully tasty. I will always come here to eat lunch on my own, no where else comes close in my estimation.
10/10 — look no further, you've found lunch.

Popped in for a drink & ended up staying for dinner, and what a great treat we had! Prawn & avocado cocktail, fresh & wonderful, but the two fillet steaks were the biggest WOW, best we’ve had in any restaurant! 100% recommend “David’s” for his food/service/ambience.

A really cosy place to go.
Lovely lunches or delicious pastries and in the evening the menu is varied and beautifully prepared.I had double fish on Friday :-) scallops and then crab all served with really fresh salad and vegetables with a goose egg cooked to perfection (to dunk my asparagus in!)
The menu also details where the produce comes from; all local and mouth waveringly fresh.

There were several of us.Chef and staff, friendly and accommodating. The menu, small ad the dishes rustic and beautifully presented...altogether delicious. A great ambiance in a casual but classy environment. Most dishes were ordered by our party and not a complaint in sight! I had the Turbot, wild rices and the most dainty Jersey Royals, (top marks to the kitchen staff for the job of scraping those!) Among other dishes, we tried the Dressed crab, Confit of shredded duck and Scallops...all mouthwateringly tasty.

I'm sitting in the re-vamped garden which is looking so pretty this lovely morning. Where better to celebrate a brief bit of summer than in this little spot of coffee heaven. It's a gem.

Small menu but fresh food skilfully cooked.
The cod with Savoy cabbage and bacon as well as the suffolk chicken with black carrot and sanguinelle starter were highlights but the 8hour roast pork was a sensation. The food is clearly made and created by a competent cook that has a true understanding of flavours. Congratulations sudbury! Highly recommend.

Well, our welcome was superb by the wonderful front of house made to feel a million dollar. Then to the menu, all tantalising but choice has to be made.Pigs Cheek entree was delicious and so being I stuck with the Pig( like a stuck pig ha ha ) and had the Knuckle again really good and tasty. I had leeks and carrots which is a match made in heaven.
Wine good and serves from the meinhost well to say the least wonderfull.New Cook just that night great stuff will return.

We ate with friends at Davids yesterday evening. The food was delicious and beautifully cooked by their new chef Paul who made it his business to speak with everyone in the restaurant to check we were all happy. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. Thoroughly recommended!

First time there, but I like it. Notice on door "no children under 13" - good! No background music - good! Pleasant staff, clearly a hit with locals, I got the feeling you could sit there for quite a while over a coffee without feeling uncomfortable. Had morning coffee then returned for lunch - red pepper and sweet potato soup; if you land there on a day when that's on, you're in for a treat. Would visit again and again, may even read one of their "library" next time.
