Very small, wonderful view to get close up to the act on stage. I understand food is served Friday's & Saturday and I'm told is excellent.

A fabulous theatre for plays, comedy and musical performances. Must mention the bar upstairs which is open to everyone. Great atmosphere and very friendly theatre members and staff. The auditorium has wheel chair access.

Small but more than made up for by the productions, films, comedy and music nights and recently, screenings of west end plays, opera and ballet. Lovely front of house staff (mostly volunteers). Highly recommended. A real 'gem' in the heart of our lovely town.

We went to see the pantomime at the Quay, such a cute theatre. The staff on the front of house were very welcoming and friendly. The show itself was great, the kids loved it.
The only negative was that the theatre was quite cold and we all sat in our coats and scarfs.

Will definitely be booking for next years show.

Great little venue that's been going for donkeys years. Saw a panto here recently and it was as lovely as I remember from when my parents used to bring me here as a kid. Fab building on a quay by the river, it has a well stocked bar, some snacks, friendly staff, lots of parking and puts on a variety of performances, music and films. Will definitely look to come again soon.

Do visit the Quay. There is plenty of free parking, a warm and inviting foyer with friendly receptionist. Go upstairs to a cosy bar for pre-theatre and interval drinks or coffee.
The theatre has about 120 seats so is intimate and atmospheric. Never so far back that you cannot see. The temperature was good, perhaps a bit hot. Seats alongside the aisle are preferable but any seat would be OK. My friends and I saw Gaslight recently and the tickets were a mere £9 each. We all thoroughly enjoyed the play and thought the actors were excellent. We sat towards the back and the sound was perfect.
Sudbury is so fortunate to have The Quay Theatre, and I am sure you would enjoy a vist. Booking online is very easy and I am sure your support would be appreciated.

Went to see The Haunting of Exham Priory here and it was fantastic.
Excellent venue, has a bar and a nice size so as not to be too crowded.
Will go again anytime.
Highly recommended.

On a day trip to Sudbury, we sought out the Quay theatre to see what it was like. Clearly, there weren't any productions on during the day, but we did ask the cheery chap in the box office if we could poke our noses into the auditorium to see what it was like. He was very helpful and led us behind the scenes to put on the house lights, and to regale us of the productions (past and present), the gigs, the shows, the film showings and live feeds from London theatres, opera and ballet houses, that they present at this quaint theatre. Not very large, but situated in a historic building (apparently with great acoustics) this is a gem for Sudbury to nuture and protect. As they say, use it or lose it. Brexit - smexit. Life's too short to allow us to mope at home. Please get out and support this fabtastic facility.

A small and cosy venue by the river in Sudbury. Watched Whitesnake Uk last night which were brilliant and because of the size of the theatre felt as though you were on stage with the band! Facilities were clean and the staff friendly and helpful , made use of the bar which was quite well stocked . Would defiantly recommend this venue.

We've been to the Quay Theatre on numerous occasions, for films, shows, lectures, and many occasions. I personally have one very large problem with it. Their is only one aisle and that is in the centre. The seats go right up to the side walls, giving no exit in case of fire. THe H&S people should really address this problem.

A truly wonderful little local theatre, with something for everyone! With childrens weekly drama groups, Bar Quiz Nights, Open Mic Nights, Music in the Bar and on Stage, and numerous plays, shows and Gigs. This is a beautiful old building with a wonderful staff and a must visit destination!

Lovely place but they should advise other adults that children tickets are sold and kids do not sit still and are not silent the whole time. I ended up leaving as I was getting shh from a snobby woman. I am trying to let my child be involved with theatre to then get treated with disrespect from another adult. If children's tickets at sold the adults should understand this.

A fantastic pop up restaurant on Friday and Saturday nights. Small but cosy and with a very different menu, all of which is fantastic. Cannot recommend too highly, and of course you need to book well ahead. Go on and give it a try - my wife and I were simply delighted.

With recent improvements to the building, car park and programme The Quay Theatre offers a diverse selection of events, acts and content for all the family. From local and national (and on occasion international) acts from Drama, Film, Live Cinema, Musicals, Christmas Panto's to Music Concerts to cater for all tastes. It is a small and cosy theatre seating over 125 places with a bar, gallery and balcony overlooking part of the River Stour. A lovely place to sit and relax whether you are about to watch a show or just a social drink or two. The venue now features Shilingford's Restaurant on the top floor, a 'wild food' pop up restaurant on Friday and Saturday nights for those who want a pre show meal, or just somewhere different to go and eat just on a weekend. I have not yet had the opportunity to experience its fare as yet as advanced booking is very much recommended.

We saw a play here, it is a small venue but that makes it all the better. You feel like you are among a group of friends. There is a bar and a highly recommended restaurant, which you have to book well in advance. You can book a table here without having to see any performance. The staff here are very friendly, and I believe they also do costume rentals for fancy dress parties. Plenty of parking and in a lovely position down by the river Stour and Sudbury water meadows.

Been to the theatre a few times. A very small but friendly theatre. New seats have been put in and are a bit more comfortable. I live quite near, so not too far to travel.
