Good museum, went today for the current exhibition which is work by the artist Tristrum Hillier. Really good exhibition but all of their exhibitions which I have attended have been of a high standard. The museum itself is well laid out and good for all ages. Good little cafe which if you visit in the summer has lovely outside seating. It's all free too.

Great museum. Lots to see. Brilliantly displayed Roman Mosaic and displays from pre-Roman to the Monmouth Rebellion.

Don't miss the cist burial.

Also a great military museum with displays from George II's time, with some royal relics from the last time a king led forces from the front, to the present day.

The whole museum is within an old mediaeval castle but there wasn't much information about this at all, which was the only disappointment.

Absolutely a jewel in Taunton, full of information and history, free entry nice atmosphere, incredible friendly staff, you can do the tour in around one hour also if you have kids they have place for coloring and enough room for the pushchair...

A real gem in Taunton. A lot of information and history to know, entry is free and the atmosphere is very pleasant, everything is clean and tidy, the people who work are friendly, always with a smile. You can do the tour in approximately one hour and if you go as a family there are spaces for the children to eat and put together puzzles, it should be noted that there is enough space for strollers.

Warm welcome and lots of exhibits. The military history was particularly fascinating. Parking can be an issue as confusing roadsigns around the museum. Overall though a pleasant 3 hours.
