Most informative, had no idea that so much information could be placed into what looks like (from the outside) a small building. This place is just 'dripping' with historical information.

It's a hidden gem! The cafe is gorgeous, and the museum is brilliant for both children and adults. They run on donations as they're a charity, which makes it an affordable place to visit.

A little gem. Housed in a historic building with a pretty courtyard and cafe, it has amongst some of the best preserved Roman finds I've ever seen. It is clean, modern, interesting and very interactive for children and just the right size. Go, it's free, but don't forget to donate the £3.

The Museum is home to a number of exciting and excellent exhibits, from the haul of roman coins to the exhibit about the civil war and the "Bloody Asizes" presided over by Judge Jefferies.
There are a number of different exhibits throughout the year, most recently being the Alfred Jewel, and archeology of Bridgwater Bay. The museum also houses a superb little cafe, which is well worth the visit before you leave.
In all I would allow a morning or afternoon to explore the museum and the area around it.
