First visit for some time. Beer ok but not one of my favourites on today. Grill up to standard with chicken, pork and fish all going down well.

A local pub. Good value for money and now has pub app to order food. Thanks Jade. Always busy. Friendly too.

When I visit family in the West Midlands, I usually pop in for a quick bite to eat, before heading back off home to The Forest of Dean. I have been visiting the vine for over 25 years, and have always enjoyed the food, and found the service very good.
My last trip was not as great as previous visits, the bar staff are fast efficient and very customer focused, however, I can't help thinking that the staff in the Grill section are not quite in synch with the bar and kitchen staff.Reason I say this is that, we don't get a particularly warm feeling from the people working the grills. We usually have to wait quite a long time for food, which I understand needs to be cooked long enough as it's all fresh and tastes delicious.
But the orders get mixed up with other customers, causing more unnecessary delays, and there is not so much as an explanation from the gentleman operating the grill.Something is not working right here.I would suggest, you need to try and tighten up in this area, and try to raise to the high standards of the excellent bar staff.
I like to always give a balanced 100% honest review, so I hope this is taken in the spirit which is intended. Thanks

Had dinner here with my partner. Hadn’t been to a bbq grill before and it exceeded my expectations. Food was out quick and I thought reasonably priced. It got quite busy about 7.30pm but the food still came out steadily. We had food from the grill (chicken tikka and a mixed kebab) and both were great. Very filling....would go again and try some more of their menu. 🙂👍

Been going here for over 20 years visited again 15/3/2019. This place never fails chicken tikka and pork steak from the BBQ excellent as usual. Masala fries are to die for as are the curries. Keep up the good work we love this place.

I visited this pub this evening for a meal on my own, the food was brought to my table very quickly and was of a very good standard. The staff were extremely friendly and cheerful and their customer service skills were second to none !! They are a true credit to this pub especially “Tracey” behind the bar !! I would definitely recommend this venue and will be returning here again in the near future.
Thank you !!

5 stars for The Vine! I visited a few months back and the restaurant was clean and tidy, the service was excellent and was served quickly! All the staff were really pleasent and welcoming! I recommend the Chicken Tikka Naan Wraps - they are beautiful! Recommend The Vine to all!

On first viewing, this looks like a small venue - but upon entering it is much bigger, with additional rooms out to the back, giving plenty of room. We visited for football as away supporters, and were made to feel very welcome both before & after the game - my son wore our club colours, and there wasn't a hint of trouble or intimidation. In fact, we decided to return after the game too given our pleasant experience beforehand, and stayed for food which was very enjoyable. All in all, a well run establishment & highly recommended.

I have visited the vine many times and whilst I appreciate the other reviews I know that the food is made to a high standard
The chicken tikka is amazing and I have the chilli chicken fusion I love the lay out and the decor
The ordering can be confusing on the 1st visit The guy behind the barbq can come across as miserable but that is the way he is and hes been there 40 years

Been here a couple of times. The place itself is nice, different areas to drink/eat. Parking is small and limited to street spaces, but thats normal I guess.
Clean, cosy and spacious. Staff in the pub are great, meet/greet etc. Staff in the grill/BBQ are rude. Especially the old man behind the grill, doesn’t even acknowledge you are talking to him. When I asked him where the toilets are, he simply looked in the direction.
Food is nice. I’d go for the Chicken Tikka, Wings and Methi. Nicely charred, smokey, rounded flavours. I dont really have curries.
Chicken masala is not flavoured well, and just tastes of spice. Naans are nice. Chilli chips are ridiculous, its just chips with a dry sprinkle of seasoning. Not worth it.
Price wise it is definitely above average prices, drinks too. I had to pay 30p for mint chutney (who charges for that?) The small disposal foam plates was not a nice touch. Why have nice food, a presentable environment but serve food on disposable plates?
Overall I think this place has great tasting food, lil pricey and bad customer service at the back. With a few tweaks it would be perfect. Not sure if I would visit again.
Decs.

Visited with a group of 7 work colleagues early evening, very busy place but we were served really quickly at the bar and found a nice table that just fitted us in. The food arrived faster than I expected and was really tasty and reasonably priced. I would definitley recommend a visit.

I recently visited The Vine before the West Brom V Norwich with a friend. We arrived over three hours before kick off and it was already packed - so I suggest that you arrive with plenty of time to avoid any disappointment. The Vine hosts a mix of home and away fans.
There are plenty of drinks choices and at a reasonable price. The curry menu looked fantastic with plenty of choice, however there was a till error which meant they were not able to take any curry orders. This was a shame as we were really looking forward to having the curry we heard lots of amazing reviews about.
Despite this, the Indian Grill was still open. We both had the Shish Kebab. It was at a reasonable price and cooked over charcoal - a real bonus. The chicken had a great flavour and was really juicy.
The Vine is a great pub to head to before the match which a great atmosphere. I am already looking forward to next season to head back to The Vine to sample the curry.

Myself and my husband have been eating here at least once a month for over 20 years. The chicken tikka from the Bbq is simply the best in the area. The curries are delicious and packed full of meat. The reason it's been going for over 40 years is quite simple...consistently excellent food.

To crowded. Needs more bars otherwise it's hours of queuing on marchdays. Food looks amazing though and definitely looks a really good place except for match days but can't blame them. It's not business they are gonna turn down
