An old fashioned pub from the outside that’s been spruced up inside, The Vine offers excellent value and great tasting Indian food.
You’ll need to get your head around the slightly convoluted ordering system (curries at the bar, barbecued stuff at the grill) which you means you won’t necessarily get stuff at the same time. But the food is pretty good overall.
Starters were decent, although the chicken pakoras tasted only like a slightly spicier version of chicken nuggets. The mains were very good and the grill offerings are packed full of succulent flavour.
The service is friendly and helpful although the guy who took the order at the grill didn’t explain how it all worked which made it confusing.
Overall, an enjoyable and family friendly visit. It scores highly for the badger picture on the wall.

When I first read the description of The Vine I wasn't convinced but thought I'd take a chance after reading other reviews.
And I'm glad I did.
Staying away overnight for work and this is just what I needed. A well kept pint and a tasty curry in a welcoming atmosphere.Friendly staff, clean and a very 'local pub' feel without feeling unwelcoming.
Would recommend and be happy to visit again.

Was at The Vine on Saturday; Yet again the welcome was fabulous, service was quick considering how full it was. I had Chicken Tikka from the Grill and a fresh Nan, everyone was enjoying there curries, or kebabs fresh from the grill. If your passing or playing West Brom this place is a must! Away fans always welcome and never any trouble; just how Football should be!!

Best away trip of any season. Can park nearby and easy walk to the ground.
Must get to the pub about 3 hours before ko or it is too packed for a table. The Bathams beer is highly recommended but always runs out early , they then offer bottles. However, the alternative draught beers have always been good.
They do an indoor BBQ chicken tikka, kebabs, naan, chips etc or you can order curries off the main menu, most go for the BBQ.
Home fans are great, no bother at all , really friendly atmosphere.
So good , if the Villa and/ or Wolves get promoted I think we'll still be visiting the Vine!! 😊

We always come here when we play West Brom away. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is always top notch. Good mix of home and away fans with no bother from either. Good value for money curry. Be gutted if (when) they get relegated.

Visited The Vine before and after Terriers away win at The Hawthorns. Parked on street nearby. Friendly pub with Albion and Town fans mixing in a welcoming environment. Good beer and tandoori BBQ fire pit food (not much for vegans but hey ho). Easy 15 walk to the ground alongside Metro line. Splendid day out capped by a Town away win 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️👍

Been here a few times but the first time on a Sunday evening. Beer is great. Clientele hmm a bit loud but ok. But I had goat vindaloo, keema naan and pilau rice. Keema great, lovely rice but the goat was just full of bones. Sorry not the best.

Very busy lunchtime, but service was fast and food couldn’t be faulted. Had to return the following day, Friday, so even busier but the same standard of food and service. Need to visit one evening to sample the full curry 🍛 experience. 👍

As an away fan, I was a bit worried but everybody made us welcome. The chicken tikka kebab was the best I have ever experienced. Great atmosphere, great local beer and fantastic food. Recommend to any football supporter before the match.

We traveled up to watch the cup game, drank at the pub beforehand and and ate there afterwards. Great venue for football drinks as there are multiple bars with quick service and a wide selection of beer (even with my favourite, blue moon served with an orange wedge). Away fans and home fans mixing without any trouble gave the place a real good atmosphere. One negative was no takeaway alcohol even though it was plastic glasses. After the game I asked for a recommendation, so got the a chicken claypot - vindaloo hot. This was a HOT curry which is how I like it, so I was very impressed. Had tasty naan bread too, which was huge. Other people around me were eating massive chunks of chicken tikka - definitely wish I'd ordered that too. Staff were great at dealing with fans who started to sing. Only wish it was closer so I could visit again

I love it when I'm asked to work late as I have an excuse to go to The Vine!
Good selection of drinks, staff are always helpful and plenty of spaces to sit, I always sit in the old Victorian part at the front, I bet those steps could tell a few tales!
This has to be the jewel in the crown for West Brom, hot fresh and quick curries, fabulous Nan breads, plenty of choice on the menu and a bbq at the back which looks great,
This place is always busy and I can see why, well done X

As good as ever and one of our favourite places to go on a Saturday lunchtime although we avoid matchdays.
The quality of the food remains as good as ever with the chicken tikka from the BBQ a real treat.

As a travelling football supporter I can say with absolute sincerity that the annual away match at West Brom is the highlight of the season. Why? Clearly not for the scintillating football. It's the delicious indoor barbecue at the Vine. I know that on normal days this fabulous curry pub has an extensive menu, but for obvious reasons, on match days it's the barbecue. Huge skewers of chicken tikka and naan breads delivered in quantity to a venue packed with hungry football supporters by friendly and efficient staff. If your local football club was as good as the Vine, you'd be champions. Can't wait til next time.

We met up with friends for a few drinks and a bite to eat. The food was excellent, we had some some meat dishes from the grill which were delicious. Then we had curries, rice and nans which are ordered from the bar. Great food, great beers good company all in all an excellent evening.

Can't stress enough how welcoming and friendly this pub is, we have been there every time we visit West Bromwich, had a keema naarn and clay pot curry spot on, also a chicken tikka kebab after the match :-)

I visited the Vine again at the weekend after about 12 months, and still found this to be as good as ever. Quality of the BBQ food is as excellent as ever.
Still offers astounding good value, still as pleasant and comfortable as it usually is, even when busy, as it usually is on the evening.
