Called in on way back from hospital. Good menu reasonable value for money. Ordered 2 starters to share chicken pakora and veg samosa. Plenty to share. Ordered 2 curries chicken Rogan josh and garlic chicken. Good portion sizes ended up taking some home. 1 nan between 2 as large portion. Food looked lovely from bbq area although we didn't order any will try on next visit.

Found this place online - actually, it's probably the nearest place to eat to where I am staying - The Park Inn Hotel. The special was a Lababdar, which I tried the lamb version. Apparently, Lababdar means a strong desire for something and complete surrender to it. So I had it with some pilau rice. I know, it's a bit basic, but hey, when you are eating alone and don't want a takeaway, well it's the next best thing to eating at home. Well service was friendly, food arrived quickly and all in all I thoroughly enjoyed my sample of the west midlands. I think the place is quite popular with locals.

Great value Great food. Don't expect anymore than basic canteen style rooms. It's all about the FOOD and pub drinks. Chicken Tikka to die for and portions are very generous. NB children welcome and my youngest enjoyed sausage egg and chips. I'll be back.

I returned to this very popular restaurant last evening Sunday 9th July and I was pleased to see the standard had not dropped.
There is now a car park situated at the rear of the building which is a godsend. but it has increased the prices to pay for itI once again had Chicken tikka from the BBQ as a starter and a King Prawn Curry as a main course. they were both excellant

Where better to go than a place that serves the best chicken tikka and the best curry's.
Ordered chicken tikka. Methi chicken. Masala chicken from the bbq. And a lamb curry rice and keema naan and chicken tikka Masala and rice. Drinks for 3 of us from the bar. Total bill £48.Excellent service as usual. Fab food. Exceptional value for money.
We travel 45 minutes to get there. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

This place offers great tasting Indian food. In different ways.
There is an open grill where great tasting grilled food, marinated in traditional Indian flovours, can be ordered.Other more traditional dishes can also be ordered from the bar.
Drinks are also competitively priced. My colleague and I visited four evenings in a row whilst working away from home.
I would definitely go again if I was on the area.

Have seen this pub/restaurant many times as I pass it on the way to a friend but have always been put off by its appearance and apparent small size located on the corner of a street which consists of business units ( though there are houses across and up the road opposite ) but I had time to spare so went in .
It was far bigger than I expected , some secluded areas for those who had come for a drink but a big area for tables for diners . Already quite busy though it was still early evening . Also much to my surprise a very good menu with plenty of Indian dishes to chose from , as I knew I was going to be eating later I just had a pint and a starter . Will visit again when I have more time to spare.
Décor a bit tired , toilets clean .
No website so it is only word of mouth which can promote the Vine , as it is well off the beaten track . Even many locals won't know about it

The food in this place is amazing, Tikka lovely, Madrass lovely.
The special curry powder you can sprinkle over your food is amazing. But the staff are absolutely shocking, bar staff are ok, but the people who work on the grill are terrible, no manners or anything.
Service goes a long way!

We live in South Wales and regularly make the trip to Birmingham just to eat at The Vine. We have nowhere like this, as far as I'm aware, in Wales. We always eat from the grill, exceptional value for money and perfectly cooked in front of you on a really charcoal barbeque. There are several different types of chicken, pork chop etc. We always have the Masala Chicken, it's REALLY spicy and tender. We were a party of three so we had three portions of the chicken (1 Masala, 1 Methi and 1 Tikka) accompanied by a side salad, 2 bullet Naan (with chillies) and 1 Peshwari Nan. The bill was around £21 - unbelievable value for money. It is served on small paper plates, with a no-frills approach but I don't think I've ever tasted better. Gonna have to make an excuse to visit again soon I think!

Well worth visiting for a curry meal and drink. The parking on residential streets is busy but still within walking distance. Clear range of food and everything was on served our table within five minutes. The staff are all very helpful.

Work down the road and visit here during a lunchtime around once a month.
Great service and food. Always on your table within 5 mins. My usual was the dopiaza or claypot. Now I go for the delicious lunchtime special!
As it is a residential area, have often found it hard to get a parking space nearby, but noticed recently they now have a car park at the side.

Been here couple of times its really good food and probably just about worth travelling for. Had srilankan kingprawn it was hot fresh and cheese naan and pilau rice were spoton . The portions are a little bit small & this is my only criticism as i have a fantastic curryhouse top of my road it makes little sense to travel very often as it is halfhour drive. Location is by hawthornes wba ground. Its worth a visit but wouldnt go reguarly.

We have been eating at the vine often over the years and have always enjoyed the BBQ and curries. I've posted a few times on here how we like it. The BBQ staff are rude but I think now it's about time something was done, it's never bothered us how rude the older man is as long as we enjoy our food but it's getting worse! bar staff are always friendly no problems with them and the foods always tasty but I've got to be honest it's put us off seeing another review with raw chicken!

If you're looking for a nice trip out I wouldn't go here. The pictures above are deceiving as the curry does not look like the above at all. It tastes like an average pub curry I'm afraid so can't understand what the fuss is about. The menus are sticky & grubby and the wine tasted rank. Just not what you think it'll be from the reviews.

The Vine is a bit like Dr who's tardis from the outside as soon as you walk through the door your amazed by just the size of the seating areas inside, the food is very reasonably priced and well portioned in size, my children love going to the man on the indoor BBQ and ordering there own chicken tikka fresh off the grill.

went there on a Sunday afternoon wasn't busy, asked at the bar where to order food
told, grills at the back all other foods at the bar. So we went to the back room where the grill is located, All i can say, it was scary going to the grill chef looked very angry and not happy having to work, ordered chicken tikka and shiek kebab they came out of a fridge looked part cooked and placed an a bbq. All in all food very average wouldn't bother going again Bar staff very helpful grill staff not welcoming

Of course no-one wants quantity mover quality but our first ever visit to The Vine provided a good balance of the two.
To be honest, if we had not heard of the place and good reviews / recommendations then I am not sure that the surroundings and exterior would have lured us in.
I am glad that we took the chance as the whole experience was very positive with an environment that was very easy to quickly become comfortable in - and all the better for the excellent lady that was serving at the bar and taking food orders.
Being an Asian owned/run pub offers the benefit of being genuine cuisine and the option a pint of proper Ale, although there are also a number of alternatives including Cobra on draught.
There are a number of small intimate rooms as well as two sizable areas. The middle room is a tad canteen-like but still not unpleasant as long as you are happy being subject to watching the football or such.
The menu is fairly simple in design; 1. pick a meat or main ingredient 2. pick a sauce or style
We opted for relatively safe options - Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi and Chicken Korma (boring I know but it's allergy driven)
There is also an "indoor bbq" from where I tried the Chicken Tikka (hmmm, something of a theme there.
Whilst the food was good and the portions plentiful - especially my partner's Chicken Pakora - the most impressive aspect was the pains that were taken to check that my partner's choices were coriander-free.
Having now found The Vine I am sure that we will be back with family and friends in the not too distant future.
It has to be worth noting that food is available until 10pm!

We've been here many times and find it the best Indian food around for miles out is always busy so you may have to have a few drinks while you wait for a table.

Been told about this place by a few ppl and decided to give it ago . Drinks are quite expensive . There's a few rooms and u can sit any where and eat the food . You order grill food at the back and any of the other items at the front bar . They all come out at different times , best to order grill first . Chicken tikka was nice , but wasn't overly impressed with the other curries . May be I just ordered the wrong thing . Would I rush back no as it feels like a cafe serving curry

Food is fantastic and comes out from the kitchen incredibly quick (I don't think I've ever waited more than 5 minutes). Prices are very reasonable and the staff are friendly. I would highly recommend a visit (and the lunchtime platter!).
