I have been going for years to the Vine and it justs gets better. So the prices have gone up but just look at the upgrade the place has had.
Value for money it can't be beaten. Suki sits there and checks everything is going well and walks about. Do you really think because you spend a little money the man should come and chat when sometimes it is heaving with people? Would you expect him to remember everyones name too.I know for a fact he pays well otherwise there would not be the staff for years. Carry on the good work Suki but the loo needs an upgrade and a nice dyson hand drier and the door cleaning. Thanks.

John your review from the vine isn't very good. The food is fabulous. .. and very much value for money... and as for the size of the nann?!? How big do you want um? As for "the lads behind the bar" best bar staff at the vine... fast friendly service... alway a great night out!!!

Good rather excellent meal without any fuss. Kudos to the owners and management for delivering what they want. Two of us went for an evening meal and came back very very satisfied. Although seating is more like canteen but the food is good and worth every penny.
We had masala tikka, methi tikka and seekh kebab. Everything was delicious and rightly cooked. Naans were brilliant, food was quick and beer was good too. What more would you expect in a meal which just cost 15/- for two persons.
Highly recommended.

Been a regular for over 20 years but not for any longer. BBQ staff think that you are there for their benefit and treat you accordingly. As others have stated, your food is given to other customers with hardly an apology. Naan bread is often forgotten and a further wait has to be endured. Curries are good but you now have to pay extra for the rice. Naan breads have mysteriously shrunk in size, why??? Come on Suki you can afford it!!!!! Bar staff, especially the 2 lads and snotty younger girl, think that they are doing you a favour by serving you.. Hardly a smile or pleasantry passes their lips. Tables are cleaned by just wiping food scraps onto the floor for you to walk in. Owner Suki hardly if ever acknowledges his customers. However the food is good and the beer well kept. If you can ignore everything else you will enjoy. If you wish to be welcomed on arrival and during your visit, I suggest you visit The Sportsman, just up the road. They really know how to treat their customers. Good beer, food and a warm welcome awaits you there, also a lot cheaper but with a more basic menu. See you at The Sportsman. Cheers.

Looks like any other back street pub from the outside, as indeed it doubtlessly was at one time. But the curry-based menu is to die for. My two companions and I all had different curries which we shared and all of which were excellent. In particular, my chicken tikka masala was delicious, with just the right amount of kick to be interesting without being over-powering. Price of the meals and drinks was very reasonable and the service excellent. Only thing to bear in mind is, it is a fairly scruffy pub and not a restaurant, so it doesn't have up-market ambience nor is it the place for an intimate dinner for two. Otherwise, couldn't fault it.

What more can I add about The Vine that others have not? Known as Suki's- after its proprietor who does have a restaurant with that name 5 miles away- or the Tardis- what is apparently a street corner pub opens out to be one huge pub-restaurant and then an indoor barbecue- it's reputation amongst football fans is so high that it is due to appear on Match Of The Day 2 in October!
Real ales and popular lagers, ciders etc. are matched with a wide choice of curries- where you pick your meat and you then pick your sauce and side; curry favourites; non-curry pub grub such as pies and toasties and tuck in. And yes, certain evenings see an indoor barbecue with a wide variety of curries, baltis and steak, chicken wings etc.
Legendary in the Black Country and beloved of local office workers as well as football fans, no other pub is like this. But this is no ordinary pub.

Great place to visit for a meal. From the outside you wouldn't think that the food was so good. Beer on tap and a wide selection of curries and starters on offer but head out the back to the BBQ part and you've struck gold. Get in line to order your food sometimes you might go away thinking that you haven't actually ordered as the guys might walk away half way through an order but come back after 10 - 15 minutes and ask for it again. Pay for your food and take it to your table awsome!
Try a corriander naan or one of the other breads also the talipia fish is nice.So many different things to try. a night out food and a drink comes to about £20 and you'll be stuffed.

Went with some relatives who go fairly often during last trip to the UK.
Was a bit dubious when looking at it form the outside, but was pleasantly surpised as soon as I entered the pub.
Yes its pared back but its clean and tidy and the grill area is worth seeing just to see the indoor BBQ.
The food was cooked well and whilst its not michelin star quality, the value for money and friendly nature of the service more than made up for it.
I woudn't hesitate revisiting.

this must be the ultimate away-supporters football pub. I would strongly recommended to any fans visiting West Bromwich Albion.
At the front it's a traditional midlands pub with small atmospheric rooms, dark wood panelling and real ale.
Behind is an Indian restaurant with a full menu and then a large indoor barbecue area and outside benches for both food and drink if the weather is fine.
The indoor barbecue offered great value for money indian kebabs, tikka etc on the match day
Both the pub and home "baggies" fans were very welcoming and we would certainly go there again if we attend a game at west Brom.

Visited the Vine tonight, as always excellent food, & a good busy pub, for a change i had a claypot chicken, & very happy with my choice, full of flavour, massalla fries, simple but so addictive, a must place to eat, very good food, & very reasonable on prices

I visited The Vine at West Brom recently and had the most amazing chicken biryani I've ever had. I've eaten here many times before and always had top class food which comes really quickly which is really helpful over a lunchtime. This time though it was extra special because my meal was just incredible. Compliments to the chef. Will definitely be visiting this restaurant again very soon.
