Whilst planning a "Metro pub crawl" I quickly realised that this place was somewhere I'd been told about. Sadly the guy couldn't remember it's name!
Called in on Saturday with the hope of some decent real ale plus a bite to eat. Both boxes ticked! We had a couple of rounds and some fabulous Indian food which was delivered extremely promptly. Really looking forward to getting there again.
Tip - if you are planning a couple of courses, order them one at a time.

I have been to the restaurant a few times and it has ever disappointed me. The chicken tikka from the grill is a must order from the restaurant and the different types of curries are delicious as well. Will definitely recommend it to my friends and family.

Having not been for a couple of years it was nice to go back to The Vine, which has had an update since I last set foot in it. With an excellent selection of ales/beers The Vine is as good as most pubs, however it is the food that makes The Vine so special.
The indoor BBQ (yes really...) is quirky, however the quality of food from it and the kitchen really is top class! We opted for two curries and some chicken tikka from the BBQ.
With excellent timing everything arrived together (even though they were cooked in different areas) and was piping hot.
Our mild curry was wonderful, my 4 year old devouring as much of it as he could! My chilli chicken curry was nice and spicy but not over spiced, the flavours were just about perfect. The tikka was spicier than most but still exceptionally tasty and perfectly cooked (to say it comes with 'salad' is a little misleading though, a little bit of Iceberg lettuce and some sliced onion really isn't a salad at all...). The rice was well cooked and plentiful, the naan was a little thin compared to others but did taste nice.
Service was very helpful and friendly, offering suggestions and advice when required. Prices were good when you consider the quality and portion size.
I'd certainly suggest that you visit should the opportunity arise, The Vine offers excellent food and drink. I would avoid it when West Brom are playing at home though as it is walking distance from the Hawthorns!

From the outside things don't look promising - it looks like a tiny old-man pub in some random residential area of West Brom. However, my friend was insistent we go, and said it would be a surprise - it certainly was! The place just seems to keep going and going, and I reckon the capacity must be several hundred - lots of different rooms, each with their own little atmosphere, and in the middle of it all was a big room with lots of basic tables and benches in. The place was heaving on a Thursday night with all sorts of people there, all having a great time. There are no airs and graces with this place, but I think that adds to the relaxed vibe of the place - it's a no-nonsense kind of place, and I think that's good when you're out with mates.
Basically, it's half-pub half-curry house, and it does both bits well. As for the food, you can either have traditional curries or you can have grilled meats etc, so it caters for all sorts. The food is massive, it's delicious, and if I lived in West Brom I imagine I would go there all the time. It's definitely worth a trip, and you will be glad you made the trip. Very reasonably-priced as well!

I've been here many times throughout the years but lately the curries seem to be even better. They are the freshest tasting curries I've had. Good portion size on both curry and naan bread. Food from the bbq is delicious also. I love their chicken tikka. I'm getting hungry thinking about it! My sister particularly loves coming here as it does goat curry. Not always easy to get and I'm not sure I've actually seem it on a menu anywhere else. Also one of the few pubs that seems to have raspberry Kopparberg! All in all a great all round meal.

This place is just great and we have been going for years. The best Indian dish I have ever eaten was on the specials board at Sukis in the Vine. The fact that a lot of Asian families eat at Suki's is testament to the quality of the food. The food is tasty and aromatic and obviously prepared by a Chef with passion and skill. The staff are always friendly and they have guest beers on tap. We just wished we lived closer.
Beware though - We tried Sukis restaurant in Darlaston recently and were not at all impressed with the food. A most regrettable experience. We will never return.

I visited on a Wednesday evening as a 1 of a party of 25 people who had been on a training course. Great Pub atmosphere, friendly staff. Orders came through quickly and not 1 of our party had a single complaint. One of the best curries I have eaten anywhere, which is saying something as I used to work in Brick Lane but this place knocks spots off any in that area.
I had Lamb Madras & Mushroom rice glorious and the Keema Naan one of the best I have ever had. The meat was tender and moist, perfectly spiced.100% recommended.

Paid one of my regular trips to this Indian pub/restaurant.
Good selection of ales and good service.Excellent menu choice and excellent food.
Don't let the outside of the place put you off as it's nice inside and has recently been refurbished.Look out for the specials - they can be outstanding!

We visited the Vine yesterday evening-the best time seems to be just after 6 on Saturday-later it became very busy-
Now-don't be put off by the area -it looks like you are entering a mixed housing/industrial-this is an old Black country pub, which like many,is now an Asian restaurant The restaurant is split into two areas-the bar area-the old pub-comprising various rooms-and a new larger Barbeque area-we ate in the bar-and went for the Days Specials-both under £7 -the total of two curries/naan/pilau rice came to £16-excellent value both for costs and quantity-we ventured into the barbeque area on the way out-it all looks wonderful -we with be back and bringing friends next time!

For some years now an iconic venue for WBA and away supporters alike.
Like the Tardis, you walk into a normal looking pub that is much larger on the inside, and a comfortable environment.
Good quality food is always on the menu and a decent array of drinks.
Very busy on Albion matchdays and weekday lunchtimes.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We visited this pub as " away" supporters before going to the West Brom game. The staff were amazing serving hundreds of people with great food in a friendly and efficient way. Don't be put off by the outside - you won't be disappointed by the food, beer or price.

We had a great meal here! The atmosphere is very relaxed and the service was very good...but it was the food that really cinched the 5 stars for this review. You just know that the food is good when many of the patrons are Indian.

On the way to the football and this was a 2 minute walk from where we parked. We went in and the bar staff were friendly and polite while having a laugh with people and there was a good spirit around the place.

What a place to eat some really tasty food cooked fresh on the hot coals. This bar/restaurant is so big you could get lost in there. I guess you have to be passing through to visit here. It is off the beat and track. I shall return......

Being a regular match day visitor over many years would like to thank everyone at the Vine for consistently providing us with great food service and Bathams (match days only)
We love your refurb and food shame we have to spoil so many sessions by going to the Hawthorns afterwards! Keep up the good work !

2nd visit and the pub had the same good vibe and atmosphere as last year.

Had a mixed group with me of oldies, kids and 'adults' we all found something we enjoyed and the ability to order form a proper pub bar is a winner.

Got introduced to this hidden gem by some mates in the nineties, lads from prestatyn who are form West Bromwich area, we used to go here before and after the footy at the baggies, always a great reception from the owner, after a few years not going, we visited last year, o.m.g this place is now bigger and better!!!
Back in the day the west brom players used to come in after the match, the atmosphere is always superb, and the food is perfect!!
I'm gonna take my nephew this year to enjoy this place!!
To the owners, you have my mates the pardoes to thank for my introduction to this perfect place.
Cannot wait to return.

Popped in on a Sunday evening as a group of three after a long time. Ordering your food is a bit confusing, curries from the bar or bbq from the bbq room. In the end we just went into the BBQ room as it seemed a lot easier.
We ordered chicken tikka, chicken wings, Sheesh Kebab and Fish and the prices seemed really expensive compared to other pubs in west brom but assumed the portions would be big. No table service here so you have to hang around to collect your food.
Arrived on plastic plates, only 5 pieces per portion and you have to pay extra for mint sauce! Food was good except for the kebabs and brown sauce which were poor.
Overall not bad but not good value for money considering not using proper crockery and no table service. It's local competition The Sportsman and The Red Lion are much better value for money and the bbq food is slightly better but that's my opinion.

This pub/balti is a hidden gem just off the M5 motorway. It is well-worth a visit.
Service is efficient, food is basic balti and better for it. Price is very keen and the food arrives quickly. We have been twice now, once in a large group, the second was just the two of us.
The pub side is also good, selection of beers and wine at a competitive price. The only downside is that their puddings seem to be limited to ice cream, still it is Movenpick.
This is now one of our 'go to' places when we want to fill up for not a lot. Yes we will still use our regular restaurant as well, but a night out there is almost double the price.
