I used to come here when I was a child and rediscovered it recently. I'd forgotten how lovely it is. We walked for hours with our children and small dog, it is clean and well kept, the cafe is a new addition which offers a welcome warm drink on a cold day!

Now a regular outing when we have an hour to spare.

i went there looking for the fabled crocodile of the arboretum and i wasn't dissappointed. My mate Matt didn't believe me but when he saw the head of the croc he soon did.
My next trip is to see if i can find Nessie.

I walk every day in this beautiful park which is particularly wonderful now in all its' autumnal colours! Everyone you pass there acknowledges you, it's such a friendly place with many leisure activities going on. There are table tennis tables, tennis courts, children's playground, basket ball courts and a skate park, not to mention the cafe and visitor's centre overlooking the lake. The lake itself is packed with wildlife and is overlooked by a magnificent Victorian Band Stand which hosts many musical shows during the summer months. The Visitor's Centre also run activity classes such as Pilates and Yoga. This is a very welcome and much enjoyed daily treat for me with a great feel of community living.

We had visited the Arboretum many times previously - but always in the dark - wheeling push chairs, to see the Illuminations. But 30 years or more later we had the chance to enjoy the trees and wildlife on a sunny Autmun afternoon.

The parkland is also very well kept - and entry is free. Excellent.

Fabulous walk with the dog today! The park is looking beautiful with outstanding autumn leaf colours, shimmering lake and water falls. As always very clean and tidy, children playing and people enjoying the peaceful autumn sunshine. The cafe by the lake is open for snacks with very pleasant views.

The arboretum has now been updated and provides facilities for all ages.
The cafe is really good with helpful staff, good coffee and food as well as excellent toilets.
There are also lots of group activities you can join, especially walking groups around the park.
In the week there is plenty of free parking in Arboretum road as well as the main car parks on the Broadway and The Crescent.

Decided to take my young grandsons to Walsall Arboretum on Saturday 7.10.17
It was quiet as there had been a rain fall. It was lovely almost had the place to ourselves.
There are some lovely walks. The children ages 6 and 2 1/2 enjoyed riding their bikes. Very safe nice wide path. Of course they headed for the playground...playing on swings and climbing frame's.
The park is kept lovely and clean by the staff. It only some people who walk past a bin and chuck stuff on the floor.
After an hour or so we walked(biked)

Towards the Cafe visitors centre
For a well earned freshly made lunch
Ham sandwiches and cheese sandwiches piping hot cuppa and fruit juice for the boys.
The visitor centre has lots of information of the events in the park and locally..from open air free concerts,in the parks band stand
Brass bands even a ukeLee band.
Plus open air theatre
And the biggest attraction 2 lakes
Full of ducks geese many other water birds i do not know their names.
A great morning was had by all in this wonderful free attraction.
People go running riding bikes hikin. There is a walk through the arboretum to another attraction Barr Beacon lovely if you are fit .
It's a lovely park

Beautiful day. Gardens, flower beds etc immaculate. Visitor centre / cafe friendly and spotlessly clean. Park brilliant BUT just because the schools have gone back, why does the water/paddle feature have to be turned off ? Toddlers get knocked over and pushed about during the 6weeks so once all the 'bigger' children have gone back to school, it's an ideal time for toddlers safety.
Please reconsider leaving it open for a few more weeks

I've lived in Walsall my entire life and so have regularly been into the Arboretum over the years, more recently to enjoy the very social and well-organised Saturday Park Runs around the lake.

Today I went into the Arboretum for a walk round the lake with my parents, with the intention of having lunch in the Arboretum Cafe which I have never done before.

I had an egg mayo sandwich and chips, my mum the pumpkin and sweet potato soup & sandwich and my Dad had a cheese panini. We were all really pleased with the value for money, speed of service and great tasting food. The cafe staff were particularly friendly and attentive, specifically Lianne, who came over to ask how our food was and cleared our table. The sweet potato soup was a particular hit and I enquired about the recipe and Lianne went and fetched the chef Maxine, who was kind enough to offer to write down the recipe for me - what amazing customer service!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the cafe, and subsequent walk around the lake and extension, on a cloudy autumnal Sunday and would recommend it to anyone who fancies a bite to eat with the family.

It’s improved a lot it’s a beautiful place but it needs more toilets as the ones in the park aren’t very approachable as rough teenagers sit outside them making you feel very vulnerable especially with Autism.
