Holiday Inn rooms need updating. Friendly staff. Staff moved me to a room after first one smelled on damp. Staff very friendly on greeting. First room smelled of damp. Rooms shabby. Need better shower. Iron smelled a bit of toasted cheese.

The room was exactly what we have come to expect from a Holiday Inn - comfortable beds, well appointed bathroom, high standard of cleanliness without any undue frills.
Two things made our stay memorable - the superb breakfast and the very friendly staff.

Good value, one or two small niggles. The meals and staff were good, and the bed comfy,BUT see below!! The room was very dark, only two bedside lamps and one over the dressing table/desk! being blind in one eye, I had to go into the bath room to read the notices, also NO shaver socket, because of my eye sight, I have to use an electric razor, and was told the hotel will give out disposable ones to guests, perfect if I want to cut my throat...........

Superb Plenty off towels and the bathroom was amazing and love how comfortable the bed and room was 😃 Only had 4 small pack off milk so me and my friend who stop in the room with could have one drink off coffee in the room. As we had plenty off pack of tea and coffee but not off milk. Apart from that every else was ok and for the right price would stop there again

In Bolton for the annual food and drink festival. Top class customer service at an hotel we have stayed before. Even had a personal note left by the bed asking us if we enjoyed our stay. My wife is recovering from a broken leg. Room near the lift, helped with car parking and care and support in the restaurant.

Excellent stay only problem found was stains on framework in bathroom. And mould in bathroom quite a bit on tiles and seals. You can treat mould now quite easily and do not expect to see it in bathrooms. Otherwise good stay staff very pleasant.

We had fairly low expectations. We were here for the Ironman a few weeks ago to watch our son race. The hotel was available, convenient and inexpensive. Coming from a low expectation attitude, the place was actually pretty good! Front desk people went out of their way to assist- the breakfast was pretty good and the place actually had a bar. We even had dinner at the hotel restaurant one night and it was actually pretty good. Coming from the USA- there are no more restaurants with bars in Holiday Inns in the US. Quite a surprise. Room was in need of an updating, but everything worked and it was clear. The A/C was actually quite. All in all for the price- pretty good.

Stayed here for 3 nights during Ironman weekend. Close to town centre witch was great! Breakfast was good! The room has seen better days to be honest. Dirty curtains, absolutely filthy carpet with stains all over! Bathroom had black long hairs on floor tiles, and foundation all over tiles by bathroom sink from previous occupants. The only good thing was the comfy bed. The heat on the room was so hot all the time there was no air! I had to get medical assistance for my husband after Ironman, as he almost collapsed from the heat in the room. FairPlay to the first aider that came to the room within minutes of me ringing reception. She was absolutely fantastic & nothing was too much bother for her. She was so professional. All of the staff here are amazing and so friendly & helpful with everything. Always a smile at reception! Just those few niggles with the room. Apart from this, everything was fantastic. The rooms just need a deep clean & updating!

Taps in bath not working correctly so when we set it at a low safe setting for our 1 year old daughters bath it turned out to be red hot. Had we not checked it before puting her in we would have spent our night at the hospital. (When we told reception they already knew about the issue, but were still happy not to warn us whwn they moved us to that room).
Broken light above one of the beds that feel and hit me.
We were sent ro the wrong room and had to move after i had unpacked.
Air conditioning not working and required a service (when we let reception know they told us they already knew about it)
No bar fridge. Wouldn't have been a problem but the room we were first sent to. Had a fridge we went out and drought milk, youget etc for the baby for her breakfast. Because the room was so hot everything had to be put in the bin.
Check out at 11am great. But cleaner was banging on door at 8am to get in the room. (Woke our little one up after a sleepless night due to the room been so hot).
This was the first time after having our daughter that we stayed somewhere and it was a stay we would like to forget. Really disappointed with th e room (230). Had we bèen left in room (300). Things would have been different as the air conditioning was working, it had the bar fridge and the taps in the bath worked. (I had already rain the bath for my daughter before we were told we had to move rooms).
We will thinks twice before booking a stay at any holiday Inn again.

I last stayed here in May 2017 due to working locally and I am back here again. Nothing has changed only this time I booked an executive room.

The staff at this hotel are a CREDIT to the citizens of Bolton. Straight-forward , helpful and chatty. Breakfast and dinner no issues.

The issue here is that IHG have neglected this hotel and kept it to a 1970’s condition. As an IHG platinum member, I stay in hotels all over the country and this has to be the worse room conditioned hotel ever. Carpet look like not hoovered in years and I woke up with dust inhalation. Curtains are soiled and the executive room view was stunning!(not).

Come on IHG, a decent spec hotel brings in the guests and they will boost the local economy. The casino across the road is doing very well purely because nobody would want to sit in their room at this hotel!

The standard rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable. the food is good the restaurant service was slow to the point they forgot to put my order through so waited over an hour for a salad. not impressed but the hotel manager Libby was brilliant. went the extra mile to ensure all was put right. the newbie in the restaurant - Mathew was very good.. He made it clear he was new and went to ask his peers for answer where he did not know. I would recommend this hotel.

Dont expect too much from the leisure suite!

Lovely staff especially front of house - service friendly and very helpful. Apparently v popular ( the night I stopped was fully booked) this place, a few years, was a lovely Hotel but HH have failed to invest and they could do with spending some cash on the place. It’s not bad at all clean and good value but given the lack of hotels in the centre this really could be a location for guests but also regulars if the bar and restaurant had some TLC - so HH put some money behind my beloved Bolton’s best central hotel and bring it back to what is should be!

The hotel is very close to the town centre, within easy walking distance.
The welcome at the desk, could not be faulted, very pleasant and friendly as was the service provided by the bar staff. It was also much appreciated that food was available until 11pm.
The room was spotlessly clean but a little tired and the beds were very comfortable. Although there seemed to be plenty of customers staying in the hotel, there was no noise to disturb us. Overall, we were more than satisfied with our stay 👍
