We had our wedding at this hotel in The Cloisters suite and cannot praise it highly enough. As soon as we set foot in The Cloisters we knew it would be perfect for us and we were right. The venue, the food, the service, everything was spot on. Ourselves and our guests had a brilliant day and we can't recommend this venue highly enough.

Special thanks to Emma for all her hard work organising our wedding and her patience with our numerous enquiries and requests. And to Libby for making sure the day ran smoothly and couldn't have gone better for ourselves or our guests.

Our room was spacious, clean and tidy. My only gripe is that because my wife stayed the nigh before our wedding, we had to re-check into our room because it was under different names.

We were in Bolton for a conference. The hotel is limited on parking space but we managed to get one plus there is a lift from the basement to reception. My room was on the fourth floor and was clearly a family room - a double bed, single bed, 2 seater settee, separate chair and normal dressing table chair - very spacious. Could do with a bit of tlc but very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Coffee and milk sachets replaced when room cleaned. As normal, shower over a bath but no problem getting in and out of it. The lift was very speedy. The food over the whole weekend was excellent - and the staff were an asset to the hotel - always very helpful. The award ceremony was held in The Cloisters - what a fabulous setting. The hotel has a pool but didn't have time to visit. There is no hairdressing salon, but there is one over the road, Ordinary Hair, and that was a pleasure to visit too. The hotel is very centrally situated, if you like shopping. All in all, I really enjoyed the weekend.

The staff were extremely friendly with fast check in and out. Rooms were clean and tidy. The staff were more than happy to help with any of my queries, they were helping us with local places to eat and also the surrounding areas as we're from Wales.

Was staying here on business however the rooms were tired and really could do with some modernisation, right across the whole hotel. However the restaurant and bar were actually pretty decent, and albeit a rather noisy and rambunctious party going on in the function suite, was a really nice place to hang out with a beer while on business.

Great location in the middle of bolton however get there early if you expect to park your car. There isn't a great deal of parking spaces and I really didn't fancy my chances at finding somewhere else to park the car.

I was fortunate to get parked as space is limited. However it is city centre hotel.
I migt have been unlucky but my the TV never worked and one of the bed sode lamps were out. The bathroom needs upgraded.
The staff however were very nice.
I would have to think twice about staying again.

My wife and I stayed on the second floor. The room was clean, tidy and offered good facilities. TV was Freeview only. Wifi in the room was good and allowed me to watch Satellite channels via the App on my iPad.
We ate in the restaurant and the food was good quality . The waitress and other staff were all very friendly - a real asset to the Hotel.
A free daily newspaper- "I" is available in the reception area Monday to Saturday.
The location is within the Town Centre that has a good range of shops, bars and cafes.
The Town Hall is impressive and seemed to be a popular photo opportunity with visitors.

Normal Holiday inn , but the difference being the friendly staff from reception through to restaurants and the happy bar staff, will be here for a year or so through the week, so I'm glad to see their cheery smiles

There is a lot going for the Holiday Inn in Bolton - but a few reservations, if you'll forgive the pun.

It is central, easy to find, and with adequate car parking. Reception are friendly and helpful, and neither checking in nor checking out took very long. Our room was just about adequate. We were attending a conference, and the variety of rooms available was very good.

The service in the restaurant was painfully slow the first evening. We did mention it after some had been waiting more than 20 minutes for their main courses - but it still took a lot longer.

We had dinner as part of our conference. It was a buffet with no staff (to see), and it was not until after we had finished our main course that a waiter came through and took orders for drinks. That was poor.

Lunch each day was a 'just about OK' buffet - and much the same each day. Fair to middling.

We had two problems with our room, one potentially dangerous, which we mentioned when checking out. The receptionist seemed genuinely concerned, and wrote them down immediately.

We visit 9-10 times a year. The Hotel is easy to find in Bolton Centre, good plentyful free car parking underground car park or top car park. Check in was swift and staff alwayshave a smile. Room was on first floor and first impressions were good. It was clean with lovely king bed with choice of pillow types duvet looked new. View was rubbish but not a factor in our stay. Bathroom had all extra bits soap, shampoo, shower gel and a great shower over bath (water pressure was fine). There was a hair dryer in the bedroom Tea and coffee tray also available. Its the little extras that make the difference. We have eaten in the restaurant for evening meal before and its excellent if you can get a good room rate. We on this occasion were on comfort packages B&B but with a drink on check in. As always the breakfast was lovely and excellent choices for all tastes probably one of the bests. One downside this visit was cleaning staff knocking on door at 9.20am Sunday morning to service the room.....really thought we were on holiday really!

Typical city centre business hotel. Ok for one night stay. Minimum effort. Staff ok if a little detached. Room a bit noisy. Breakfast fine. Parking not very good for a city hotel. Limited places in the basement with tight spaces for manoeuvring and outside overflow not well signposted.

First off: on arrival I found the pool was out of order and has been for 2 months. Through. I fault of the hotel I was not aware of this as I'd booked through Hotels dot com. Very disappointed but it was (when pointed that way) clearly marked on the Holiday Inn website.

Pleasant and very helpful staff created a new IHG account as mine had apparently expired (with no notification....) since last use.

The room itself however is very tired. Desk is warped and twisted, poor access to power sockets, marks on wall and carpet - more a £20 B&B than an £79 respectable chain hotel.

Bed and pillows were comfortable and it's only 0.5 miles from my destination tomorrow. Probably won't stay here again unless they have a refit - I'd guess it's about 10 years overdue?

Lovely clean room and welcoming staff. Room service ordered and was quick to be delivered and arrived well presented by a lovely young man called Luke who was such a credit To holiday Inn at Bolton as very friendly and helpful.

The previous reviews are correct this is a tired hotel in desperate need of a refit. I was in room 112 for 3 days and although not terrible was not great. There was visible mould in the bathroom (Black spores on ceiling) the corridor to the room always had the aroma of bad sanitation and the general carpet and furniture was worn and grubby. The bed was comfortable and spacious and the small gym adequate. Location for the town was good with access to restaurants.
Slept well as the rooms were quiet.
Just another note that wasn't on the website THE POOL IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
On the next visit I think I would rather commute to Manchester or other hotels in the near vicinity.

As I was working in Bolton I booked into here for two nights

On arrival, there was ample parking underneath the hotel. The reception was warm and welcoming and genuine. The room was a big one and although very tired was cleanly presented.

It is only a short walk into the centre and there are plenty of places to eat..

Breakfast was very good too....

Nice room, very comfy beds and the TV remote worked lol. Only down side was the posh-sounding food that tasted fairly bland.

Just arrived to the hotel as I'm on a business trip. Check in went smoothly, staff was extremely kind and helpful. The room is ok. The mattress is very comfy. The restaurant is big and nice. Shops are closed down around - it's 7pm-.

Firstly, the Staff are wonderful, and full praise to all, and Thank You.
The Hotel is in need of a face lift, long over due. The Bathroom was in a poor state, the bath panel warped, the Enamel on the bath had gone, dirt on the tiles .One Shampoo, and one Bubble Bath/shower to go round two of us The room had not been checked, No toilet paper, a Tea bad for two, as was the milk, No Biscuits.
The Breakfast was poor. My Egg was Hard and like rubber, I asked for some cream for my Coffee, they do not have any, the Bacon Burnt around the edges, not pleasant. If not for the staff we would have gone into Manchester.
Very Poor, please do not say you get what you pay, then do it up and I will pay for that service.

Just stayed for 2 nights while on a course. My past experience of such trips is a bit tiresome but this hotel has been really good. Check in easy, very welcoming receptionist. Executive room was a little smaller than I had hoped but comes with wine, slippers and a bathrobe. Very comfy bed, safe, tea and coffee, bathroom. Food very good and restaurant service excellent. Thanks Kayleigh!

If you need to stay in Bolton, I recommend this hotel!

I was concerned when booking this hotel due to previous reviews but the welcome at reception was lovely and the room was spacious and clean. The only let down was the breakfast - I went down at 9am and hardly any hot food out staff were very rushed and this let down the hotel.
