A fabulous spa hotel, we booked several rooms for a small bridal party. The food is delicious and the service is realy great. Reception staff are so helpful and friendly, we had a few issues with one of our rooms that were dealt with professionally by the duty manager and reception, they resolved the issues immediately looking after us offering an upgraded room and a lovely suprise at dinner which we really appreciated. The spa facilities are fab and the spa treatments were amazing. A lovely weekend and a excellent hotel.

Very good Rooms were clean, the area is lovely, we booked the spa to let our 1 year old swim for the first time which was easy access. The breakfast was alright (the bacon stank but everything else was nice) The rooms were small - we've stayed in a LOT nicer/ bigger rooms for half the price of this. This was our only complaint, other than the bacon smelling funny when opening the lid to the container which the bacon was kept at breakfast.

Overall, we enjoyed our night away. The customer service is what made the stay to be honest. For the nightly price we paid, I expected a better standard of hotel room. It was perfectly acceptable and was clean, but the room was tired and in need of a lick of paint, new carpets etc.
Same with the spa area, we enjoyed using the facilities but it hasnt had a facelift since the last time I visited 10 years ago.
That being said, if you need a hotel in this area, this is definitely the best option and there are lots of lovely walks around. Bromley Cross and Egerton are the nearest villages and there are plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops to choose from, so as long as you don't go expecting a modern 4-star hotel, you won't be disappointed!

We booked a table in the restaurant, the staff were very welcoming and efficient throughout our stay. The meal was absolutely delicious and there were four clean plates when we finished. We couldn't fault the service in any way. We had a starter between the four of us and then the main meal, the experience was absolutely fabulous and we would definitely visit again. 😀

Best in Bolton area. You get what you pay for, it’s good and functional, clean and tidy, decent food, good gym & spa, handy for where I work and priced well. It’s a sprawling hotel and some rooms require you to go out in the rain to get to reception and/or the restaurant. Ask for a room in the main building or bring an umbrella. Everything else ok.

Booked a cottage room and was given a family room with 4 beds . Carpet was badly stained . Evening meal and breakfast was good but slightly over priced. 3 scoops of ice cream in a bowl £8 !!! Breast of chicken £18.95 Staff were all very pleasant Charging guests £30 for use of pool and spa which isn’t mentioned until you arrive in your room . Probably avoid a future visit .

Disappointing Large room, nice food in restaurant. Large queue for check in then wasn't ready. Booked Exec room but wasn't in Exec block. Room dated and poorly cleaned. Dust and flies on window sill. Stains on carpet. Complex very busy and noisy. Queues to sit and eat.

Good Value spa break The staff are great and really helpful- everything is on site spa lovely loads of character good value for money gorgeous breakfast great cocktails The carpets could do with a good shampoo and deep clean Food in restaurant quite pricey for what it was- not a-lot of choice- my starter, the lancashire rarebit was actually disgusting but everything else was acceptable. the infinity hot tub used to have a view of the hills and now has a big housing estate as a view- not tbe hotels fault but still a disappointment

Very basic, rooms need updating! I didn’t like how you had to go outside to get to your room, especially as it was pouring with rain. Also the steps were slippery and just a bit of a pain to get to. The heating didn’t work either, so it wasn’t the best stay.
