New app for easy check-in. New rooms look great, modern design, iron & ironing board, nice walk-in shower. Good tea/coffee making facilities. Comfy beds. Friendly staff who are very helpful. Great value rooms.

We stopped at the hotel for a one night stay while visiting friends in the area.
Check in was very straight forward and the room was very comfortable with ease of car parking.
Will visit again when we are in the area.

We booked the Village hotel to hold our evening reception after our wedding in Mexico, and it couldn't have gone any better.
Location:
Right off the M66 motorway, it's a doddle to reach from all directions, and a short drive north of Manchester.
Rooms: We had a club room (included in our wedding package)... Spotlessly clean, Sky TV (not that I had time to use it), coffee machine (though it was tricky to use, and other guests ended up asking reception for a kettle... maybe instructions should be provided!) and comfy beds.
General: As this hotel also has a gym, use of the gym was included in our room booking.
There's a bar which has all the sports on, and food can be bought here also, such as burgers and pizza.
There's also a Starbucks if you're into your coffee.
Wedding reception booking:
This was dealt with by Louise who did a great job from start to finish, taking note of every little detail to make our evening perfect. We booked the inspiration suite which was made up of 2 rooms - the main function room which can be split down into 3 if you feel it's too big - we filled the whole room with 16 round tables, 10 seats per table. They could probably fit more in if required. This room also has its own access to an outdoor seated terrace if it's warm or for smokers!
Before reaching the main function room there's a smaller room which has the bar area and a couple of stooled tables and couches. All these areas were private to our party, with a red carpet leading up to the entrance door which was a nice touch.
There was a lot of setting up to do prior to the party, but we barely lifted a finger as Rod (the Operation's Manager) sorted all of this out with the help of many staff, even the table decorations.
We had a buffet later on (there's several types to choose from depending on your taste and budget).
The bar was a little pricey (up to £4.50 on average for a pint), but not unexpected. Last orders was 12:15, with the function being closed a 1am.
In all, a great evening, and would certainly recommended it to anyone. Louise and Rod far exceeded what was expected of them, and communication was constant throughout.

Cannot fault the hotel for value for money and it's mediocre facilities which include a sauna steam room and good gym poor quality of sleep however due to thin walls and a keyless access system to rooms which encourages parties larger than capacity

Very convenient. Club room very quiet but difficult to find, up and then down different stairs, needs better signage. Bathroom towels are thin and ought to be much more luxurious for a stay of this cost. Instructions for the coffee machine would be helpful. Staff warm and welcoming.

Stayed for my friends wedding, fantastic venue, reasonable prices on bar and very friendly staff. Wedding staff were great, all staff welcoming and smiley.
Only points to improve on were room not clean enough and breakfast pricey for what it was.

Stayed in this hotel with my wife for our wedding anniversary, the hotel went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay, providing a complimentary bottle of prosecco in the room on arrival. the bar staff were extremely helpful during a period were my boys were misbehaving.

Stayed for one night. Large hotel, very convenient for motorway access and has plenty of free parking too.

Modern electronic check-in area, but with staff on hand to help if need be. Room was clean, comfortable and modern - on a par with similar chain hotels.

Several dining options in the hotel, along with a starbucks (though it would be nice if this was open a little earlier in the morning for guests checking out early).

Downsides were the loud noise of guests outside the hotel front door at night, as they gather there to smoke. There was also a lot of noise from the housekeeping room area (directly opposite my room), radio noise, loud conversations across corridors etc.

peaceful despite being right near the motorways, and railways, yet also near a lovely river. a gym and pool in the hotel along with plenty of food/drink options and another pub across the car park.
a lift for wheelchair users from the car park to the reception.
the lift inside does all floors and down to the leisure centre, with easy access.
I stayed due to a conference, and had a wet room in my room, along with large bed and a lounger, and still plenty space for a wheelchair user to get around, as my chair is a six wheeler and i got round easily.
Would definitnely recommend to people

this was mine and my husbands first visit for one over night stay, we enjoyed it that much that we have already booked for June for 2 nights, this time we will bring our swimwear as we didn't know with booking the club room u had free access, so will be taking full advantage on our next visit. The staff were brilliant very friendly and nothing was to much for them to do for you.

nice place, felt modern, rooms not practical in several ways but felt clean and modern if you like that. Excellent size of pool and jacuzzi areas and sunbeds to lie and read on. Well stocked gym with lots of equipment and enough for a few people to be using at any one time.

First of all the £50 Sunday deal for a night and two courses is incredible value and I'd recommend it to anyone.

The hotel and rooms are lovely and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. The waitress (Daisy) who served our table of 19 was great.

We didn't get to use the spa but judging by the people there it was well used. Would definitely stay there again.

I have stayed here before so was used to it....the staff always seem to be pleasant and helpful. There does seem to be a move towards more automation and less personal though as experienced by the check-in process. Bar a bit pricey but good atmosphere We did have difficulty finding our room though as the signage seemed confusing.Overall it is a good place to stay and we will be back
