Had a wonderful lunch today. Weather was beautiful so ate our meal on their adjoining terrace. Have eaten here on a number of occasions and have always enjoyed both the food and service. A family run restaurant that takes a pride in all aspects of the business. We will be returning very soon.

Had a lovely meal here to celebrate a family Birthday. First time for us but the family had been before. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food was amazing. Very tasty and plentiful. Lovely ambience in there and would thoroughly recommend.

I never had such a great spaghetti a carbonara, instead of using cream for sauce, they use egg... Also the pieces of meat were so tasty and crispy that made the dish one absolute delight. They offer a variety of pastas, pizzas, rizottos and others. All of them appeal to be great too.
The pizzas look stunning but in this instance I've opted for the pasta. Well done, really recommend.

Valentine’s dinner date
Booked a table on Thursday evening after reading all the positive reviews to celebrate Valentine’s Day with my girlfriend. We both had the three course Valentine’s Day menu – three courses for about £25. We shared a meats board and the selection of three different bruschetta as a starter and then I ordered pasta with pistachio pesto and speck and my girlfriend had the escalope with blue cheese sauce. OH MY GOD – everything was absolutely delicious! I had never tried dishes like that and I must say I was super impressed! Desserts were also really nice, panna cotta with chocolate and strawberries and a lemon and almond cheesecake. The atmosphere was also spot on, every table was decorated with a heart-shaped balloon, a red rose and two little chocolates. I thought that was really thoughtful and the whole evening was just perfect. I can’t wait to go back again and try their pizza!!! See you very soon Anema e Core!

Our friend likes this restaurant, which is why we went, and they are certainly cheery and helpful there, but the food is pretty average. I don’t really understand why the lamb mince for my tagliatelle had to be cooked for eight hours, as stated with such pride on the menu. It was bland and had to have pepper, salt and chilli oil added to make it taste of anything. We did, however, very much like the delightful Nativity just inside the door.

If you’re looking for a cosy and authentic Italian restaurant in Eastbourne, you must try Anema e Core! My friend and I wondered in on Sunday around 2pm after going around the shops in the town centre. We were warmly greeted by the lovely waitress and were sat down at a table in the back room. Everything on the menu sounded delicious, so we asked the waitress for a recommendation. She suggested the sharing board of cheeses and meats to start with, and then she strongly recommended the veal escalope, one of her favourite dishes. My friend ordered a pizza and I decided to go for the veal escalope with a side of roast potatoes – I was not disappointed! The meat was so tender and cooked perfectly and the combination with the mushroom sauce was absolutely amazing! I tried a slice of my friend’s pizza and that was also really tasty – I usually don’t eat the crust as I usually find it dry or burnt, but this one was so soft I even used it to clean my plate off the leftover mushroom sauce. We didn’t have any more room for dessert but the ones I saw being brought to the table next to us looked delicious. A great find, will definitely be back!!!

Very average Italian restaurant and quite expensive. One glass of "house red" £5.60 + 10% service charge = £6.16. Parmigiana di melanzane was tasty, but a very small portion. Does not accept Amex. Waiting staff were attentive but I would not return.

I go to Eastbourne fairly regularly and I like to indulge in a nice meal out from time to time. Being Italian I do like to try new Italian restaurants wherever I go as they remind me of home. Well, I can honestly say I've never had such a nice pizza anywhere else. The dough was perfect, the crust was so soft and plenty of toppings. The waitress Lia was lovely and attentive, always smiling and very chatty! I definitely recommend Anema e Core, I can't wait to go back!

Visited in last 3 weeks for 3rd time in 1yr. Thought it was average first 2 times.This time the place was cold , needing to keep outdoor jacket on.The overall decoration maintainance looks tired even shabby in places. Service also lacked genuine warmth. Food is pretty tasty but portions are small for quite steep prices.I needed all 3 courses to get close to feeling properly fed....for me thats a failure. My advice is to go across the road to Pomodoro Mozzarella for a fair priced meal in much better ambience and value.

Spent a weekend in eastbourne recently and decided on italian food.The menu was varied and good sized portions,with the cost to suit all pockets.The staff were very attentive which added to the experience.Will certainly visit again when next in the area.
