An excellent evening with family in this delightful restaurant tucked away on Bolton Road in Eastborne. Lia and Antonio were fantastic hosts and the food (cooked by Mum and Dad) was authentic Italian. We had a lovely evening, food was fantastic as was service. We would certainly recommend this place. You probably need to book in advance if possible. Ten out if ten. If you want Italian...this is the place to go in Eastborne.

First visit but will now be regulars, have had this restaurant on my to do list for a while, even before their move, annoyed at myself that it has taken this long... what a fabulous experience.
Congratulations to the family for a magnificent example of what a family run restaurant should look like.
From the moment you walk in you are welcomed into the family atmosphere, the service was friendly, caring and knowledgeable.
The pace, even though it was a busy Saturday evening the service was prompt but never rushed, you never felt like you was being pushed out for the next sitting, a constant watch from the staff always meant that your enjoyment was of paramount importance.
Food, we had a sharing platter for starters which was full of different meats and cheeses and Lia even spent the time explaining what and where they are all from.
My wife had Tagliatelle Salmon while I had Tagliatelle Bolognaise, both cleared our plates, washed down with a lovely bottle of Amarone which was professional opened and served.
We had taken our friends from Hastings there and they was so impressed they are looking to re book already.
Looking forward to trying out their lunch menu next.

First time visit with my mum for Mother’s Day. What a lovely friendly restaurant. We rang to say we were stuck in traffic and might be quite late. They were so nice and held the table for us. The food was superb and the service exemplary.

If you want good food in a family restaurant look no further: We have eaten here several times with different friends, never rushed, helpful, friendly, accommodated our requests and joined in our celebrations. Superb value.

On the strength of our one visit here, this place is great. When the Metro Café was inexplicably closed (nothing on their website or at the restaurant - just dark) we came here, and we are very glad we did. The staff are terrific: a family from Italy, all friendly and very welcoming. The pizzas were excellent (be aware: this is not Northern-style crispy thin crust pizza. It's a soft and flavourful dough, cooked to perfection.) And the prices are quite reasonable. The house wine is good, the Nero d'Avola better still. And do try the Amaro di Arancia Rossa after dinner: it's delicious as a digestif, and not too sweet. All in all, we had no complaints at all. The restaurant name translates as Heart & Soul. We agree! That's what the owners put into it. A delightful dinner.

I had wanted to try this restaurant for some time have seen rave reviews on Facebook from an Italian friend & I wasn't disappointed! As the title suggest you get proper Italian food not English/Italian as is the norm in Eastbourne. I visit Italy a lot & it was just like being over there again. The staff were lovely & friendly & the food was delicious. It won't be long before we are back again!

I had pizza margherita which was very very good and the best available in Eastbourne and as good as the pizzas I have had in Naples. My wife had seabass which was very good. I am half Italian my mum was born in Sorrento and I go to Italy every year and love good well cooked Italian food. As do my sons and my wife.

On business in Eastbourne and used Trip for this restaurant. There is a reason why this place is highly rated - the food is suburb. The Ravioli with Boar is excellent. The service was excellent with good attention to detail. My wife waited a while for the second glass of wine, when the food was serviced, but the restaurant manager compd this without us even asking. Great experience and very authentic.

The food gets a 6.5/10; humdrum. The starters were very poor. Deep fried (frozen) whitebait had a strange taste and the (frozen) deep fired calamari was bland and rubbery. The beef carpaccio was a lesson in uninspiring. The main course risotto main course was very good. The choice of desserts was poor and again, lacking in imagination.
The service was good, although the bill was so long in coming, we eventually went to the till directly.
More than anything though, the decor was almost tragic. A signal red paint on the walls had been thrown on, with paint finding its way on to the UPVC door frame. A tiled dado had not been finished properly with bits of tile missing in the corners and edges. Sockets in the skylights. Huh?
It seemed to me as if it had everything in place to do well (the pizza oven was a work of art) but fell down in the detail.

Popped in one lunchtime while house hunting in Eastbourne having seen the reviews on here and thinking we would suss out what will become one of our local eateries. Well we were very pleased we did. Good pizza is very hard to find outside Italy in our experience (but then we do live in Italy part of the year). Anema e Core deliver pizza worthy of the name. Service from everyone we came across was on the ball, efficient, friendly and with a consistent excellent attitude. Excellent value from the fixed price too: One soup, one prawn cocktail with plenty of big fat juicy prawns, and two excellent pizzas later all washed down with very nice house red and white wine we left very satisfied and replete. Complimenti Lia e team!

This was our first trip here with the restaurant under new management. It was absolutely delightful with first class food and service. We received a lovely warm welcome from all the staff and nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant is family run with the parents cooking and daughter, her partner and one other serving. It is excellent value for the set lunch and our bottle of house red was really good- no cheap taste here. My pasta pomodoro was the best I have ever had. We are so pleased to have discovered this traditional family run Italian restaurant in the heart of Eastbourne and highly recommend it. We will definitely be back! MIchaela and Bob Hurcomb

Always amazing, home-cooked, traditional Italian food and superb, friendly service. Always clean. Cannot find fault with this restaurant. I would highly recommend eating here to anyone who enjoys Italian, and I always look forward to eating here myself. They are usually busy so it's advisable to book.
