Absolutely fantastic meal, the staff were super friendly and helpful and we even got a card from them (it was our wedding anniversary)
The starter (Anema e core) was a fantastic platter of cured meats and cheeses with plenty of bread and other bits.
Our mains were very very delicious, I had a pizza and my wife had salmon pasta both of which were cooked to perfection.
For desert I had the lemon pie and my wife had the chocolate ice cream. Both deserts were a delicious treat and the ice cream was surprisingly rich.
We finished the meal with an espresso and a limoncello with a friendly chat to one of the owners.
Hands down one of my favourite restaurant experiences of all time. Go and book now!!

Booked a table and got served unbelievably fast and food came fast also. The food is extremely good value for money, boyfriend had a 12+ inch margarita pizza and it wasn't even £7 and was extremely good. Only complaint would be that as I finished my meal before my boyfriend, the waitress asked if she could take my plate while my boyfriend was still eating which made him feel a bit awkward and I thought could be seen as rude. Other than that was fab and would recommend

I visited this lovely place for the first time and I wasn't disappointed.
I had spaghetti with clams which was perfectly cooked and loved the flavour.I also had a cheese and ham starter with bottle of white vine and it was delicious.
Service was very good and waitress was nice and friendly.

I've often struggled to find a decent restaurant in Eastbourne away from the fish and chip cafes, sleepy hotel dining rooms or slightly seedy pubs. This might be the answer. It's certainly popular judging by the speed with which it filled up this Friday lunchtime. Although there's not a lot of space to fill. Almost half the small front room is occupied by a pizza oven, food preparation area and bar. Some tables are set at 45 degrees to fit them in. A room to the rear was filled by a couple of quite large groups. I was warmly welcomed by the Italian waitress. There are photos of her native Naples on the walls. As these are their speciality I chose one of their 14 inch pizzas called O Sole Mio featuring ham, salami, mozzarella and artichokes on a tomato base. It had a thin crust and was a tasty concoction although I noticed more ham than salami. Meanwhile at an adjoining table a group of three were trying the three course lunch menu, remarking on how large the salad and arancini (rice balls) were. I finished my large glass of rose before ordering rum baba as a dessert with a double espresso. They arrived at the same time with a refreshing glass of tap water. The baba was nicely drissled with rum falling onto the plate. The total bill was around £18 which for food of this quality I adjudge quite a bargain.

This is a gem of a place. Friendly & very efficient staff, who have great pride in the place. It matters to them
that you enjoyed your meal. The lunch menu was delicious & great value. The arancini was delicious as was the bruschetta with home made bread. The pizzas are straight from Naples! The restaurant is light & informal. Well worth a visit.

They tempted us in with "the best pizza in town try it to believe it"

We tried it and we went back the next night for more. A lovely place ran by lovely people, thank you for looking after us and our girls.

Thanks to TripAdvisor we booked a table on Sunday evening. Lovely home Italian cooking - very tasty large portions. Very charming waitress in a small spot which we wouldn't have found on our own. Highly recommended especially if you have a large appetite!

Having read all the reviews on Trip Advisor I decided to take my wife to Anema e Core.
My wife and I went to Anema e Core last week (4th August) for our 5th anniversary, I called up around 6:30 to book a table for 8pm and was offered a table in the back room.
When we arrived we were shown to a reserved table by the window in the back room.
We were greeted by warm smiles and welcomes from the staff, as it was our anniversary we were brought out a complimentary heart shaped bread and 2 glasses of sparkling wine - we even got an apology (not that it was needed) for a lack of flowers as we called to book after the shop was closed.
The food we ordered (RAVIOLI AL POMODORO and TAGLIATELLE ALLA BOLOGNESE) arrived quickly and tasted fantastic - full of flavor.
This is a nice place with great staff charm and personality. It is excellent value for money and well worth a visit - I can't wait to return and try more of the menu.

Went with my wife on Wednesday evening 5th August. Greeted by a very friendly and helpful young lady and enjoyed starters of garlic bread and olives followed by their enormous pizza to share. We returned for lunch with our daughter and her partner on Saturday 8th August and were served again by our smiling waitress who remembered us. Another lovely authentic Italian meal.

The location it's easy to find in the heart of Eastbourne, the environment very cozy and I really enjoyed the hospitality, I ordered a pesto pizza, I loved being able to see the plate processing, the quality of pizza left me speechless...the mozzarella on it was divine, I didn't think it was possible to taste a pizza so good outside from Italy. I also tried parmigiana and it was so tasty!!

Great pizza - I have to think back a long time until I can remember having had a similarly excellent one (and that was definitely not in the UK). Also the service was super friendly.

Booked after seeing all good reviews and being top on trip advisor. There were 14 of us celebrating a hen party. We were warmly welcomed and the owner even helped us decorate the table. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The service was excellent can't fault anything. You have to book as people walking in were turned away. Will definitely go back. Thank you so much for having us Julie had a great night.

Visiting Eastbourne for the day with family of 5 + dog we were in desparate need of a place for lunch to satisfy all. Trip advisor guided us to a little piece of Italian heaven in the form of Anema e Core. The Italian family who own and run the restaurant could not have been more accomodating and the food was to match. We'll definitely go back for more!

For what this place is - 5 out of 5. Very friendly staff, basic inside, good prices, very tasty food.

It doesn't pretend to be anything it's not.

We'll be back.

We called by on the Friday night - and they were fully booked, so booked for the following day. When we arrived, the lady remembered us, and couldn't apologise enough for being full the previous night.
We opted for a selected of meats and cheeses as a starter. I don't know how many different meats and cheese we had, but I hadn't seen as many on a plate. We both opted for different tagliatelle dishes, and neither of us was diasapointed. Both of us had a couple of drinks, so we were delighted the cost was less than £40 - very reasonable.
What 'made' our night was the lady there who was very attentive and made all her customers feel as if they are special. We will go back again - but next time we'll book in advance!

We turned up at Anema e core and it was extremely busy which to us showed its good and extremely popular.
The owners were very apologetic and asked us to come back within 20 minutes of which we did and a table was ready for us.The food was so fresh and tasty and if you like Italian Food then this is the place for you and its worth travelling to.
Prices were very reasonable considering the location and attention to detail was at its finest.During our meal we were made to feel extremely welcome and were asked if everything was to our liking and just very attentive to our needs.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone going to Eastbourne for the day or for a holiday around East Sussex.
