If you are lucky enough to book a table you will have an amazing meal which is value for money that is difficult find. This family run restaurant delivers top quality food made from fresh ingredients using recipes that have been handed down the generations. An excellent wine cellar and perfect service will add to your eating experience.

We took our two grandchildren here for lunch because of the good reviews on here and were frankly disappointed. My husband likes Calzoni pizza and I like Canneloni, but neither were on the menu. I opted for lasagne and this was not very good, like a slab of pudding, dry very little meat and with cheddar cheese (an Italian lasagne does not have cheddar cheese but béchamel sauce and parmesan). We will be going back to the Pomodora which we have been going to for years.

This is easily one of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been to - and I've been to a lot, both in the UK and Italy. It's family-run, authentic, friendly and informal and everything we've tried, from pasta and gnocchi to steak, have been excellent. The home-made focaccia is incredible and the pizzas are the best I've ever had, with the freshest tomato and basil sauce (and they're huge!). My husband and I have become regulars and everyone we've recommended the restaurant to agrees that this is an absolute gem of a restaurant and offers incredible value for money. The word's getting out and the restaurant is small, so be sure to book a table at weekends!

Been at Anema e Core regularly, with my kids, with my friends or even to take a pizza away for myself. Pizza is a real Napolitan pizza n only if you have been to Naples you know what Im talking about. Food is cooked for Italians so following real recipes n using the right products...you dont get this nowhere else in the Area. Relaxed friendly environment, cheapest that most of the restaurants in Eastbourne n definitely great value for the bill. I ll go again n again

My wife and I travelled to Eastbourne last weekend and had booked a table at Anema e Core, on the strength of TA reviews. The journey down was dreadful and we telephoned to say we would be late. In the event, we were very late but were left withthe impression that the charming family who run this little gem of a restaurant would have stayed open all night for us.
We were immediately welcomed and seated and made to feel at home. We chose to share a bruschetta (a good decision), followed by pasta. I had spaghetti napoli with meatballs - a favourite - and I have never had better. My wife was equally pleased with her choice.Anema e Core is a wonderful, honest, family owned and run Italian restaurant. It isn't posh - it just does what it does brilliantly.
We are already looking forward to a return visit.

This place is quite something. A pleasant, intimate space, very friendly service, great Italian wine selection (sensibly priced) and - most importantly - superb, authentic, lovingly prepared food. Like being in Italy at its best!

Chose this restaurant for our anniversary meal. Although the restaurant is quite small and a little basic, the food and the staff were outstanding. There was an anniversary card on our table when we arrived which was really thoughtful and the waitress who served us was really lovely. Thank you for a fabulous evening

Saw on trip advisor so took a chance. What a find. Tiny restaurant, we hadn't booked but they squeezed us in and did not rush us at all. Lovely food, freshly prepared.own pizza oven and open kitchen. Shared a starter, more than enough for two. Home made bread! Enormous pizza and delicious pasta, served with our own portion of Parmesan and chilli oil. Desserts looked very tempting but just no room left. Need to go back tomorrow for coffee and dessert! Excellent friendly service.

Visited the restaurant based on reviews on TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed. Looks nothing from the outside, but the food is superb and the service is excellent. The portions are BIG so make sure you are hungry. We shared bruschetta before a pizza each which neither of us could finish. Highly recommended :)

As others have said ... Don't be put if by the cafe exterior and modest seating... The food us to die for!!! Much better than it's rival over the road ( with the bossy waitress/owner. Go there immediately ;-)

Visited this lovely little Italian in Eastbourne on Saturday night and we were certainly not disappointed. After looking at all the wonderful reviews (apart from one) I thought we must try. I am so pleased that we did as we had a wonderful meal. We both started off with Melanze Parmagiano and it was truly amazing. Then I had the Pizza Vezuvio and my sister had a bolognaise pasta. Both amazing. We had lovely wine and the atmosphere was lovely. The staff could not be more pleasant and could not do enough for us. The price also was very good. I would not hesitate in recommending this lovely friendly Italian.

I've visited this restaurant just of pure curiosity. It was leading restaurant on trip advisor. The server was very nice and suggested her favourites. I've ordered a rice ball and pasta. It was tasty and well spiced. There were just two things I didn't like. The gentleman standing behind the counter? Oven? Had a look like a vulture staring at me and my friend. The girl was great. I found a long red hair in my food. She replaced it immediately and didn't want to charge for it. Beside that . Pleasant lunch.

This is a real find - the Italian owners are clearly aiming for the very highest standards in this informal little restaurant. Our marvellous meal included exquisitely creamy burrata, homemade garlic bread that seemed straight from the oven, pasta with perfect slow-cooked bolognese sauce and sourdough pizza rivalling the best rated London pizzerias like Franco Manca and Sodo. Service friendly and competent, very warm towards our 8 year old son as to us. Book a table ASAP if you plan to be in Eastbourne..

Don't be put off by the outside appearance this is an amazing restaurant as it is a bit tatty. When we went there were two tables of Italians eating there which is always a good sign. The staff are charming the food delicious the best Anipasti and be sure to try the Brusheta ice cream dessert wonderful. Wish we lived nearer would go every week.

Spotlessly clean family run authentically south Italian cooking. We tried the pizza, actually shared one, and it was perfectly freshly cooked in a wood-burning oven, I believe. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere couldn't have been more friendly and less pushy. Will certainly go again and try other dishes. The menu is simple and the standard high.
