One of my favourite places I have visited in England. I love geology and this was the place for me. Just to see the infamous chalk cliffs up close was such an amazing experience. We walked along the beach for a good hour, collecting shells and taking break-taking pictures.

The National Trust shop and cafe are lovely with excellent service at the cafe. The locality with coastal scenery is "world class".

This is an iconic scene and the National Trust have made the most of it. The Visitors Centre is very informative and staffed by helpful volunteers and the display is most interesting. The cafe is good for a snack or light light lunch and the walks around the area are breath taking.

Lovely place, great spot to visit. Cliffs crumbling away though, have to watch that. Good fun, lots of steps so not ideal for those with mobility issues if you want to go down onto the beach.

You feel so tiny in front of those huge cliffs, mostly when the sun is on. It becomes so white and dazzling. What a great experience. All the site is worth to be seen, the headlight (which is now a B&B), The amazing view on the channel.

A lovely walk. Free parking if you are a national Trust member. Great walks and views. The walk to the right (as you face the sea) is about 3.5 miles to a Country park and tea room.

The place is very interesting. You can take tours from there into the environment. In the visitor center is a very nice lady who talked to us about the history of this place.

Visited on a January break. Being National Trust members we always check out local sites. Decided to drive up to take a look at the cliffs. Amazing sight. Did not have time to go onto the beach or visit the NT center but was so glad to have seen this amazing natural sight.

The views of the Seven Sisters are spectacular but the facilities in the café are drab and unwelcoming. Was much better when it was a pub.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon with husband and daughter. We kept meaning to go but never seem to get the time which is a shame as we only live up the road in Hastings. Been here many times over the years and it always amazes me how beautiful this area is. We had a fantastic walk along the beach then had a look in the visitors centre which was very informative, gift shop is a bit expensive but well stocked. Parking is free if you are a National Trust member, which we are, so one less thing to worry about. Would recommend getting there early as car park gets full early.

Lovely views, parking available, at a small price, info shop and cafe in the national trust centre
It may not be here in 20 years so worth a visit before it disappears into the sea!

Quintessential South Coast beach to walk along, a walk to Beach Head or along the Seven Sisters for the more energetic and a great shop and cafe run by the National Trust. Definitely worth a visit!

Visited Birling Gap for the first time and was amazed at all the facilities that were available. The weather was biting cold so it was wonderful that we could have a lovely coffee in the Café to warm up before we ventured back out again. The views are magnificent and the roar of the sea pounding up the cliffs was deafening. The National Trust have made an excellent Museum here and the Volunteers and Staff are very passionate and have good knowledge of the future plans for this area. We even saw some Surfers. We enjoyed it that much that we returned a second time before leaving Eastbourne. Well worth a visit.

Great for being able to take our dog inside after a Walk Friendly staff. On a sunny day , the view is wonderful. You can sit & watch the sun go down.

The Birling gap beach and view point is just stunning. good walks in either direction and theres a great little beach too. Best place to watch a sunset. The National Trust do a great job maintaining this area, and the visitor centre is a must.
Cafe serves coffee and the odd bot of food, but to be honest I've been in better NT cafes, this one is a little basic, but after the walks its definitely worth refreshing yourself. And toilets available to, another long walk bonus.

Fantastic place with good walks with amazing scenery. Also there's an excellent coffee shop offering cakes, snacks and drinks. A National Trust gift shop and interesting educational centre is also included in the package. Birling Gap is a place for all seasons, and for all ages.

Lovely place for a weekend drive out I've visited here on quite a few occasions. It helps if you know someone from the area who can offer you a few local hideout/cafes which are dotted out the coast. There is one here just by the local carpark and it does great coffee/cake.

Good choice of coffee and cakes. Lovely sitting area looking out over the sea. Great location to park the car and go for a local walk.

Magical place with beautiful sunsets. Don't miss out.

The NT cafe and info centre is a good side attraction too but for me its all about the beautiful 'gap' Great for photographers, walkers, artists, families, paddle boarders and swimmers

The ups and downs of a walk on Beachy Head and the superb scenery and difficult to beat. Then back to the National Trust cafe at Birling Gap for afternoon tea - almost perfect but ..... what's happened to the scones - not as good as they used to be!! Still a must for anyone visiting Eastbourne.

The National Trust have done a huge amount over the years to make this place as safe as possible, while ensuring visitors can enjoy the sights and sensations in every type of weather. I've been dozens of times, and my favourite experience was at high tide during a winter south-westerly gale. Wow!

What a great place to take a stroll and admire the coast! It is definitely one of our favourite places now, together with Seven Sisters Country Park and Beachy Head. Not too far from Eastbourne and Newhaven, on a beautiful road along the coast.

We walked from Birling Gap to Beachy Head, stopped for a drink in The Beachy Head which was understaffed and too packed, not very welcoming. Then we continued to The Pilot in Eastbourne, a lovely friendly pub with great sandwiches.
