A pebbled beach lined with white chalky cliffs. A wonderful place to visit. A lot of walking to do around to see the cliffs from the top. The walk from the car park is easy but not suitable for wheelchair users. Right on the top stands a lighthouse which hosts an ice cream shop. The view of the South Downs and the entire scenery is beautiful from up there although it gets very windy.
Car park gets very busy. We paid £5.00 for the whole day. But cars were parked on the road too. The visitor centre was closed due to the COVID -19 situation. Public toilets are available but expect long queues. Lots of people were around but majority maintained social distancing. The cafe was opened too.
Lovely place to visit.

A fantastic walk from Meads to Birling Gap over the south downs. Some fantastic views. On a sunny day you get some good views across to France. You go past Belle Tout, you can see the Beachy Head Lighthouse. Stop for a picnic or have a snack at Birling Gap. Well worth a walk.

White chalk cliffs with a pebbled beach which can be explored at low tides.
The walk on the Southdown and across is uphill with beautiful views all around. A perfect place to have a picnic. Clean and calming..
Carpark and clean toilets are there.
A small restaurant and an ice cream van make up for food..

visitors centre, pretty walk along to the beach and sea front, You have to pay to park think it's national trust. There is a pub within walking distance and a ice cream van in the car park

A surprise view of the white cliffs. Just go and see it. Thoroughly enjoyed by our family on our tour of Ireland and the UK.

It's a tough walk between Eastbourne and Exceat, over Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters; but you'll never forget it; and there is an excellent bus service (every ten minutes through much of the day) between the two places.

Just breathtaking! It’s pretty crowded, even on a bad weather day but the area is so large it doesn’t seem that bad. It’s certainly a must see!

We walked from Newhaven to Birling Gap and back - stopping at the restaurant at Birling Gap. Wonderful walk, although the slopes seemed more challenging on the way back!! Birling Gap was a great place for a coffee and cake - loved it!!

Amazing place, beautiful beach and views, please be careful here as the cliff is unstable. A recent cliff fall left the steps to the beach closed off.
The national trust centre is informative, and accessible- no wheelchair access to the beach. Parking on site, buses from Eastbourne at certain times. Grab an ice cream, watch the boats, take in the wind! And views.

Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters can be reached by walking (about 1.5 miles from East Dean), by bus and by car. There's a fairly large car park (pay and display but free for National Trust members). Once there there's some former Coastguard cottages, a cafe, shop and visitor centre and steps down to the beach. Eight Coastguard cottages were built in 1878 but there's only four remaining. The café is National Trust run, so don't expect fine dining but the usual National Trust offerings. There are also toilet facilities but these aere barely adequate. But what you have to come here for is the walking. Birling Gap is on the South Downs Way and rioughly half way between Cuckmere Haven (3.5 miles away) and Beachy Head (4 miles away). The best views of the Seven Sisters are seen as you approach Birling Gap from the Belle Tout lighthouse.

Beautiful views across of the dramatic white cliffs
The walk to the coastguard property at the top of the steep incline is a must do to take in the breathtaking vista
Be careful to keep to the paths
Go into the visitor centre and view the series of rock falls over the last 15 years and the receding land
Always looks better when the sun is out

The day we drove to the Birling Gap and Seven Sisters it was coming a typhoon. The drive, even in the rain, was phenomenal. Once we got there, you couldn't see very much. There is a pay and display parking lot with a gift shop and a cafe. I'm sure if the weather was more cooperative the views and the cliff top walk would have been spectacular. Just the drive to it alone is worth it. Highly recommend

We drove direct to the NT car park, adjacent to the Coastguard point, then climbed the path up towards Belle Tout lighthouse - it was a wild day (40mph South-Westerly) and a fair trudge for us old folks. We were shocked at the stupidity of some tourists, standing right on the cliff edge in poor conditions, especially as there were cracks in the turf at the edge where they were standing! Despite that, this is a wonderful amble in a beautiful setting.

Really is worth a visit - excellent spot for photographs and beautiful surrounding countryside. Cliff edge is not fenced off so great care needs to be taken

Seven Sisters Country Park is an easy walk from the car park to the sea and back it is around 2.5 miles. The majority of the route is paved but the last part towards the beach is not.
Beautiful meandering river running alongside the route, becomes a fast flowing river into the channel.
The area is prone to flooding when heavy rain occurs, worth checking in the winter if floods have affected the walk before visiting.

Great views. We walked here from Beachy head and it was an easy walk with the kids and a pushchair. The views are impressive and we were lucky to have a clear sunny day. Hit and miss phone reception so can be tricky to call a taxi.

Beautiful views. Gets a little tourist dense around the visitors centre, but walk further afield and it's nice and quiet.
