We hired this venue for 3 separate day events using the function room. From the beginning correspondence was fantastic, the events team were quick to answer all of our questions and deal with all of our requirements. They told us they did the best buffet and town and they were not lying! The food is incredible and overall brilliant value for money. The function room is a nice size, accessible by stairs but with toilet facilities and a bar area in the same space if required. There is a good number of table and chairs and space to arrange the room as you would to suit your needs. We would highly recommend this venue if you are looking for a function space in the Eastbourne Area.
Thanks again for such wonderful service!

We had the upstairs room of this pub, to raise funds THE ROYAL HIPPODROME THEATRE. We held a Quiz Night. It was very well attended. We arranged to have a supper, which Sarah and staff organized well. It arrived on the table's, at the time we had agreed on. Nothing was too much trouble for them all the evening. We had our own bar staff to,and Ross was in charge there. Everything through out the evening went so smoothly. Needless to say,we had a very successful evening, enjoyed by all.
I would most definitely, recommend this place to other's,and use them again.Buffet was really excellent, such a good choice of food. Nothing left in the end. Big thank you to Crown and Anchor, for making this event a success.

Had some nice drinks in this very friendly pub but they were top price. Also had a meal but not too impressed with this. Burger was very well done which made it hard and also menu stated "onion rings" but we only had one with our meal and very few chips. Would not eat here again but would probably have a drink as only a couple of minutes away from the hotel we were staying in. Also if you don't like dogs this is not the pub for you!

Stopped for a coffee which was well presented by the staff who were all courteous and helpful. The menu was comprehensive and we thought fairly priced. We had hot potato with filling, great portions with accompanying salad which filled the plate. A very good lunch. We would recommend the Crown and Anchor not only for the food and ales but great customer service.

Nice pub. Friendly & welcoming staff. Were happy to see the pup inside. Wide & varied menu with loads of choices for veggies & vegans. Vegan nut roast particularly tasty! Ate here 3 nights in a row so that tells you something!

We visited Eastbourne on a Sunday, with friends and family. None of us knew about the Air Show... We arrived at lunchtime, hungry and tired, and found the promenade crowded, a flood of people and noisy cheer. What a surprise! We immediately noticed this beautiful pub, with a facade full of colourful flowers and an inviting look. Despite the crowd, they welcomed us with warmth and friendly availability and immediately put together a table for us (9 in all, including our beloved little dog). It would have been enough, given the "difficult" day... And instead we were all enchanted by the quality of the food and the exquisiteness of the dishes that were served to us (with excellent professionalism and courtesy) in a very short time! Absolutely excellent! I would like to mention the sharing platters, all very greedy, but if you like cheese don't miss the cheese board & wine! And, for the sake of everyone, the home-made burgers, we tried several and all were equally fabulous! If we ever go back to Eastbourne, this would be the first stop!

Popped in for a pint and was the first one there, I had a pint of Speckled Hen, it was the first one pulled and it was crystal clear and one of the best pints I have ever had the pleasure of drinking. Highly recommended.

My wife and I went to Eastbourne on a day when it was pelting with rain. We were lucky to find a refuge in the Crown & Anchor, a pub with friendly staff and a good atmosphere. We both had a lovely meal of steak with peppercorn sauce, chips, onion rings, grilled mushrooms and tomatoes. One of the barmaids kindly helped my wife, who is disabled, into the toilet. All in all, visiting the Crown & Anchor was a good experience on a bad day.

This pub was within a couple minutes walk of our guesthouse. We each had their Fish and Chips which was delicious. Their prices are good, the atmosphere is good, the staff was friendly. What more could we ask for?

Looking for a Pub for some Pub Grub along the front at Eastbourne was not easy. Hotel Bars are plentiful. We were happy when we found The Crown & Anchor. Now readers who suffer from a Noise Allergy, you will miss good beer and excellent Pub Grub. On our four visits the place was always full. But friendly well trained bar staff are there to speedily take orders and deliver the good portions of their well filled plates to your table. Really tasty good food with up to 5 different vegetables, left us well satisfied with everything including the value for money prices.

We called in for drinks on Wednesday night.
There was a really nice warm atmosphere in the pub and it was busy. As it was a lovely evening we took full advantage and went to sit in the beer garden at the back of the pub, then came inside when it turned a little cooler. A really enjoyable evening.

I went in on Friday night and there was a band on.

Drinks prices were reasonable though they do have a £5 minimum for card payment.

Lovely food and a great atmosphere. The staff were excellent too. We'd definitely go back. Also good value for money. It was busy, understandably. If you want to go in the evening probably best to book.
