My friend's and I popped in for a drink after the Air show but when we saw the food that other patrons were getting we decided to stay for dinner. We all had different meals, I had the spare ribs , they were beautifully served and tasted amazing I can't wait for my next trip as I will definately go there again and would highly recommend. All my friends enjoyed their meals also, but I think they will be choosing the Ribs next time Service fro the staff was excellent.

A lovely lively pub at the seafront, friendly and competent staff, good choice of food and drinks at reasonable prices. I enjoyed the Sunday roast and my husband had really nice fish and chips. Desserts are also really nice. Drinks list good with quite a few cocktail and shot options. I loved the atmosphere in the pub and we ended up going there a few times during our short stay in Eastbourne. Would definitely go there again.

I must confess, as a foreigner we had to take the plunch sometime and went to an English pub for the first time at the Crown & Anchor. Not sure if we should order by the bar or someone will come take our order. a Waiter did arrive and served us. Great food.

This pub was just next door to the hotel we were staying in. We went at 5.30pm to book a table but we're unable to. But the lovely waitress come reservation person said we will have table ready fairly shortly. 20 minutes later table found and we were seated. Staff extremely friendly efficient and g nothing was too much trouble. Best Sirloin steak I have had for years, along with Stilton sauce.

Lovely Pub Grub followed by a live band that were very good and played everything from The Who to Buster Blood Vessel. Made for a great evening and would recommend if in Eastbourne.

We forgot to book and was advised by Lucy the brilliant bartender to do so as they had two large groups booked in thee same time we planned to eat. We sat outside drinking in the sun and choose our meals and were called in when they were ready. The pork belly was fab and served red hot. The other two meals were lovely too. Overall a lovely pub with friendly and professional staff. Highly recommended.

4 of us didnt want to go far so decided to have our evening meal here. Good friendly pub with some outside seating looking at seafront. Out of 4 main course orders 2 came out wrong. Hubby asked for chicken chips salad but it came as roast chicken dinner, friend asked for roast potatoes with lamb shank but got mash. However, mistakes were rectified quickly. I had crispy belly pork but portion was very small so I was disappointed as everyon elses meals were a good size. Hubby had cheeseboard for dessert which he said was very good, Our 2 friends shared choc fudge cake. I had apple crumble with ice cream it was a big portion of crumble but only a tiny scoop of ice cream so couldnt eat it all as it was too dry. We did all enjoy our evening but they could certainly do a few things better.

On tour for a few days in Eastbourne this pub was recommanded to us by our B&B and a good choice - nice oldish English pub with a busy atmosphere but not noisie ... the food is exactely what pubfood is about for us continentals. Nice but short wine -list with a description fitting the tastebuds. Situated next to the pier on the promenade - look no further - sit back and enjoy. And we were served by extremely nice staff 👍

Started off with a friendly welcome. Throughout the meal staff looked after all customers dealing with their needs and giving great service. The meal was amazing (best sausage and mash I’ve ever had). A very good selection of Gins ! Couldn’t of chosen a better pub to start the holiday.

This place has one of the best menus with a diverse selection of meals along with an amazing vegan menu and gluten free options. Not to scare the meat lovers because the burgers & steak here are excellent. They also have many vegan drinks options including a vegan mocha that was absolutely incredible. The vegan dessert are also great.

Popped in here for tea after completing the SDW and we were in need of some good food and plenty of it. We weren’t disappointed, and we had Vegetarian and a GF amongst us. The service was a bit slow but they were very busy and we were in no hurry and it was a Friday night.

Good little Greene king pub. Got really busy Saturday night with the live band but can't hear the band very well from the main bar which was a pity. Meant the crammed pub got hotter and you didn't even get the full joy of the entertainment. Came during the day and we enjoyed it much more.

Four adults and two children came for a Saturday lunch for the first time yesterday. great choice of food and the atmosphere in the pub was most welcoming. This was mainly due to the staff who dealt with us, Cara, Matt, and Jannis. We chose a delicious crispy pork dish, steak pie and a wonderful prawn seafood dish. Everything was cooked to perfection. The children's meal were very good too and priced very cheaply. the writer of this review made a mistake with her coffee selection which was immediately replaced by Cara. In all a most memorable experience. thank you. We will return.

We recently had a really pleasant 2 night stay in Eastbourne. On our first afternoon, we went into this pub for Sunday lunch and it was absolutely delightful. We had 2 veggie roasts, one pork, one beef and they were all delicious. The server (really friendly guy from New Zealand) was great, as were all the staff.
We enjoyed the food so much, we went there for dinner on the following day, but they were fully booked, so they opened the upstairs area for us which we were really happy about. Once again, the food was great - they have so much on the menu to suit all tastes (veggie/vegan/gluten-free) and it all seems to be home-cooked too. The cheese and pepper quiche was lovely.
The only drawback is that they allow dogs inside the pub - we didn't realise on our first visit that dogs were allowed inside, but on our second visit, there were dogs close to where we were eating. I do like dogs, but don't really want them nearby when I'm eating. But the pub does have signs outside which state they are a dog-friendly pub. (We probably wouldn't have eaten there if we'd seen the dog-friendly signs on our first visit). Overall, (dogs aside) food great, staff lovely and prices reasonable.

We were staying close to the pub and thought we would try it out because it was dog friendly - the service, attention, food, drink, entertainment would be highly recommended. Every time we took the dog in they bought a bowl of water and some treats for her. We ate breakfast, lunch (twice) and dinner in there over the 4 days we stayed but went in there for the entertainment on friday and saturday evenings. Great atmosphere, staff very attentive and all round excellent pub - thank you x
