3rd time visit here and the standard never drops. You really are treated like an old friend every time you visit the Restaurant. The food is a treat, the Asparagus starter was superb but the Wine battered Cod was a delight. Will be back again very soon. Anyone who has not been before give it a go you won't regret it

Fantastic food! The special was delicious as were all the other courses we had.
Great atmosphere on a Saturday night with most people clearly out celebrating one thing or another!
They made a note when I reserved for my partner's birthday so they wished him happy birthday and brought out his dessert w/ a candle and a general sing song which was lovely.

Best restaurant/wine bar in Eastbourne. Good staff, food and wine. Such a pleasure to have this in Eastbourne.

I came here for my birthday meal with my partner. We loved the atmosphere from the minute we walked including the music and posters of David Bowie and Richard Hawley.
The menu was great and we both had three courses, a bottle of wine and a cocktail each.
The food was so delicious. My partner is looking up how to make bacon jam! The cocktails were the nicest we’ve had for a while.
The staff were lovely and very friendly.
We would definitely come back when in the area again.

2nd visit here since moving to Eastbourne. I cannot praise the place enough. Staff are great and food is too die for. The Inedit Beer is a great touch but the star of the show is without doubt the food. Had the Burger this time and it was so tender and juicy. The fillings were also great. Pay this place a visit you won't be dissapointed. Will be back soon.

Had dinner with a few friends. This was extremely good, the vibe, food and wines were amazing. The pork ribs and the charcuterie are really good. The cheeses of the charcuterie are perfect, a good combination with bread, oil, pickles and some lettuce.
This place is fab.

Visited on a Friday night for a bottle of wine and some nibbles with a friend. Had some fries and the aioli was INSANE. So so so good. I don't eat fish so the options for me were really really limited which was quite disappointing. We mentioned this to the waitress and she said that in the future if we were coming they'd be happy to prep something if we called ahead of time!
The wallpaper looked more like wrapping paper in the corner by the entrance where we were sat and it was coming off the wall a bit but the area was really nicely decorated.
Staff were super friendly and accommodating and the Malbec was lovely. Will definitely be visiting again - you forget you're in Eastbourne!

Had dinner here on a Friday evening. It feels like you are walking in to someone’s front room - cosy but vibrant at the same time. Staff exceptionally friendly - what a warm welcome from the owner and the staff. Sat on a high table with bar chairs - thought they would be uncomfortable but no perfect seating for our meal.
Extensive wine list - complete booklet - would be absolutely astonished if they didn’t have a particular wine that you wanted. Very knowledgable about the wines and how they could complement your meal choice.
The food - well I have eaten in some expensive and Michelin starred restaurants but this ranks superior. I had the burger - but oh no not any old burger it was truly sublime - the flavour of the meat with the truffle and the relish - I cannot quite describe how utterly delicious it was. My husband had a fish dish which was also cooked to perfection with a combination of flavours that were mouth watering. Desserts were also amazing - nothing too fancy but the taste was exquisite. We had the chocolate creme brûlée and the pecan tart. They were not pretentious small portions but hearty portions packed full of flavour and ice cream and compote to accentuate the different flavours. Had an amazing sticky dessert wine with the pudding - my mouth is watering just thinking about it!!
Thank you Cru for a fantastic evening. The food was sublime, wine list extensive and we were made to feel like friends instead of customers.
I am truly thankful to google maps for directing us to this restaurant and then after reading all the reviews us going in to book a table. I am sometimes sceptical of reviews of restaurants because eating out is very much about an individual experience. But I truly urge you to go to Cru if you are in Eastbourne - I defy anyone to not be as impressed as we were. We will definitely be visiting again. Our lovely waitress was telling us about their bottomless prosecco afternoon tea with a slight quirky twist - no boring traditional sandwiches. Must try this.
True gem - don’t change you have something quite special and unique and certainly don’t let go of that special chef!

We visited Cru on Easter Sunday by far the best place to eat in Eastbourne. Perfect roast lunch with freshly sourced produce, clean plates all round. Fantastic wine list also.

We went for a celebratory meal and didn’t really know what to expect when we first walked in but were impressed from the moment we stepped through the door. The choice of wine and food was amazing and the meals were so very delicious. I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice but relaxed meal out in Eastbourne.

Had dinner here to celebrate a family birthday. A warm welcome and friendly, efficient service in a relaxing atmosphere - and great food and good wines. We started with several very tasty tapas to share and then all ordered a main dish for ourselves. The fish of the day, pan-fried hake, was delicious, as was the lamb dish. Plenty of veggies too.

Had last Saturday such an amazing dinner. The staff, food, restaurant is amazing. As a starter I had the croquettes with pumpkin and cheese. This was really good and really plate presentation. I choose for the main course for the Surf and Turf. A sirloin steak with lobster. This was brilliant! The lobster was amazing with the garlic butter and the steak was the best I had ever. Such a good quality of meat and fresh.
We had a lovely evening many compliments to Hardy & Jordan and staff.

Decided to call here for Lunch on a recommendation and so glad I did. From the moment I entered the restaurant to the moment I left the whole experience was top notch. Was told about the Inedit Lager made by Estrella which is amazing stuff. Had the Sirloin steak cooked to perfection at Mid Rare as I requested. Quality food and staff what more can you ask for. Will be back soon to sample the evening weekend action!

We were bought vouchers to come here and it came highly recommended.
We were not disappointed, what a fabulous place. Not only was the food great, the service was exceptional. Not over the top but friendly, cheerful and helpful. The wine list is great and the sommelier was happy to recommend. English wines on the menu too, with not too much of a mark up which is rare to find.
Will definitely be returning and will definitely be recommending ourselves.

Once again, another excellent visit to Cru. A group of 12 work colleagues booked for afternoon tea on a Friday afternoon. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely Megan and shown to our table, which was beautifully decorated with marble effect tea cups and saucers and matching serviettes and teapots. We all ordered individual teas from an excellent selection on the tea menu. The milk was brought out in quirky little bronze milk urns. We were absolutely mesmerised when the selection of open sandwiches, blinis, cheese scones, traditional scones, macarons, pastries and glittery brownies came out in bird cage stands and decorated beautifully with edible flowers. Our whole group thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. Some of us had prosecco also, which really complemented the food. I have had numerous afternoon teas, and Cru is up there with the very best of them. I would even go as far as to say it is THE best I have ever had. The service, including regular top ups was impeccable. Thank you so much to Jordan and Megan for looking after us all and making a special afternoon extra special.

I came to Cru for Valentines, we had such a lovely evening, the staff, the atmosphere and food were amazing. The oysters were exceptional. Best place in Eastbourne by far. The whole vibe of the restaurant was great. Will definitely be back.

Valentine evening. Needed to be personal but we were crammed in. Table far to close. Music quite loud but exceptional.
Food was very good and the service good once we had started. I feel for the money, I would have expected more space and enjoyed the surroundings. Shame as so much good to say but the evening on a special occasion was destroyed by have to many table close together

I would suggest avoiding this place when busy as you will not be able to hear yourself speak let alone the person you are with. I have to say that the staff were all really friendly and helpful. We found the food to be average but very overpriced. Our meal cost £150 for three people, starters, mains, one pudding and a bottle of wine. If you are wanting a quiet little place for a romantic dinner or a catch up with friends, then the noise factor is a real issue.
