Wow what can i say , an experience not to forget. I was met by Claire my mentor for the day who was amazing with her knowledge of all the animals and knowing all their names was incredible.i actually got to help feed some incredible animals some would actually come up to you and take from your hand.to experience how the animals react to you in their enclosures is awe inspiring wish i could have stayed longer. Many thanks to Drusilla's and Claire. Richard

We went to Drusillas on a Friday in the 6 weeks holidays, we had a fantastic day!
There is so much to see and do here, everything is so child orientated and child friendly.
The attractions are great, it was busy but we never had to queue for anything, we paid £3 to dig for gold my 2 year old loved this and was so chuffed with the free gold medal he got for collecting gold!
We took a picnic as there are loads of picnics areas, the outdoor play area is great, with lots of seating for the parents.
I would highly recommend this zoo to all ages, it really is a great day out, there is so much to do, so make sure you get there early so you can fit everything in!
Fantastic place!!

We used tesco days out vouchers so it was great value for us. My 4 year old loved joining in with the zoolympics and stamping his animal books, although we found quite a few of the stampers empty.
My year old enjoyed being able to see into the. Majority of enclosures and in particular the farm area with the ponies.
The animal enclosures were appropriate for the animals in them, none of them looked 'unhappy' as they seem to in other zoos we've been to.
Overall we loved our day at drusillas and came away with a lot of photos! We'll be back next year!

Wow! What a day - took my two boys aged 9 and 6 to Drusillas for the day today. We had a fantastic time (all 7 hours of it!!) So much to see and do. We learnt so much on our way round the Zoo. Lots of information and little quizzes all over the park. Not to mention the maze, paddling pool, train ride, climbing wall....
They especially liked taking part in the Zoolympics - great fun attempting the challenges to see how they compare to the animals.
Of course, the play area was a HUGE hit - felt very safe.
It was so nice to see an attraction with such clean facilities and friendly staff.
Defiantly will be going again.
Would recommend Drusillas to everyone I know. Thank you for a great day.

After a disappointing trip to London Zoo ,last year,Drusilla's restored my confidence by providing a thoroughly good day out for me and our Grandaughters aged 3 and 5.In the zoo,the balance between education and fun was just about right .The interactive activities along the route, kept them challenged, and meant that they were not aware of how far they were walking. The children were excited to watch the animals, which looked healthy and animated. The animals were housed in enclosures that provided stimulation, similar to their natural environment, and were very active.Detailed thought has obviously been given to the flow of people throughout the park, and though there were lots of customers, there was a sense of space with relaxed children and adults. The play area is fantastic and provides areas for all ages. The soft play area in the restuarant was a life saver for Grandparents, providing a more tranquil area and even supplying a range of newspapers.Although a few attractions require an extra charge, most of the activities are included in the entrance price and this greatly reduces the stress of pester power.Drusillas provides a quality day out for the whole family and I came away with the impression that their customers are very much respected and valued.

We took our 3 year old to Drusillas for the day and it was so much fun. There is so much to do, My little girl met Tree Fu Tom, had her face painted as a fairy, saw the pengiuns being fed, loved seeing the meerkats, rabbits, bats and budgies, flamingos and stamping her book every time she saw a new animal. You can choose to eat in the picnic area and bring your own food or choose from one of the yummy eating areas. The play area for the kids is fantastic, we were there from 10am to 5pm. Well worth it, thoroughly recommended!!!!

I recently visited with my family and had an absolutely brilliant time. The walk through attractions with the bats lemurs and loris is a great idea for children to get closer to the animals. My son who is 6 absolutely loved it the play area was in his words was amazing my 16 month old was well catered for in the smaller play area, panning for gold was a huge hit with my son as was Thomas the tank, the picnic area was lovely and clean with plenty of seating and the bubbles blowing out across the shop area to the picnic area made it magical for son and daughter, there was a small extra charge for panning and other attractions but to be fair it was worth it to see the excitement on my childrens faces. Well done drusillas brilliant well thought out

There is so much to do at Drusillas. The large outdoor paddling pool (explorers lagoon) catered brilliantly for the toddler in our company. My 12 year old loved Eden's eye maze, which was cleverly constructed with an ancient temple feel. I liked the bat cave which has the most pungent earthy smell and contains lots of fruit bats dozing. There were some baby animals that were a delight to spy - lots of oohs and aahs, at the baby monkey and the baby fennec fox.
Druzillas is a full day out with lots to see and do. It is more like a theme park, a synthetic candy world where even the animals cages are so pristine they don't smell. It has a really safe feel to it and children love it. The play areas indoor and outdoor are amazing. It is pricey and the food you can buy could be improved and it can get crowded but children love it. It is a paradise for kids!

Having always passed by while going on holiday to Eastbourne We decided to make the decision to go this year , We arrived just after 10 am to find large queues , dont let this put you off , we didnt have to wait for long as the queue moved quickly . Once inside we were very impressed and although we had no children with us we found it very interesting , alot of thought had gone into the enclosures/cages none off the animals look bored in fact were so busy it was hard to take photos ! very impressed with the play area at the end it was heaving with happy children , Will definately go again with my grandsons

Had a family day out at drusillas, used tesco vouchers for entrance so that helped, no queue at all and went straight to the lockers via the short cut route to put picnic bag away, cost of £1 not bad except that's every time you open the locker! Can't fault the zoo, the animals are so healthy looking with natural enclosures, the interactive extras and signage are brilliant and the whole place is spotless. Our main point of coming was for the lorikeets , we arrived in the enclosure to be told we can purchase pots of nectar for £1 each but if the birds don't come down there's no refund then as the lady passed the pot to my daughter 3 birds swooped down knocking the pot out of my daughters hand and covering her in nectar leaving just a drop in the pot, not her fault nor the birds as it's natural but the lady was quite Abrupt telling us that they don't refill the pots , I can understand that but not if it's through no fault of the visitor! She then told us to get off the grass area and was trying to shoo us around the enclosure a bit too abruptly this really put a dampner on the experience as we weren't running around or endangering the birds! Everything else was great all other staff friendly and rest of the park just as good as the zoo. Well worth a visit as it was almost a perfect day.

When we decided to have a 2 week break itch our grandchildren, taking them to various child friendly place around the Home Counties we did wonder if Drusillas would hold their attention.
What am I talking about this place is ideal and we could come back here week after week and they would always see something different in their own child like way. Well laid out, clean and tidy with all to animal in excellent conditions and looking happy. Plenty of activities to tad as you travel around and a wonderful play area where you feel safe to let your toddlers run around. The highlight was the Thomas the Tank ride for my grandson but after 4 goes I got a little bored The Drusillas would not be for the teenagers so i would not recommend for that age group. Will we go back.....without a doubt
You could save money by taking a picnic but we found the food reasonably priced for such an attraction

Took my 2 year old granddaughter to Drusillas, very impressed with everything. Clean, tidy, animals kept well, lots to do for all ages, food was good and reasonably priced, Thomas the tank engine ride was a real bonus. Well worth the travelling from Portsmouth and will definitely visit again, one of the best zoos we have visited so far.

I would suggest that this day out is aimed at younger children under 10. The zoo is well laid with good information and activities as you wander around. There is a huge play area once you have been through the zoo and this caters for little ones as well as older children. The Thomas train ride is sweet for the younger children and takes a route around the zoo. There is a wet area but this is quite small and was crowded as it was a sunny day when we visited. There are plenty of places to buy food, drink & treats and a nice picnic area. Would suggest it would be hard to spend a whole day here but you could definitely spend around 3 hours with a picnic.

Absolutely excellent, I had a great day feeding and caring for the animals. I loved the capybara and meerkats, the penguins and the fat-tailed gerbils. I want to go back again very soon.

We took a young baby in a pram to Drusilla's during school holidays and it was a fantastic day out. It is such a family friendly place, with interactive elements perfect for children.

They have some very interesting animals - especially the monkeys with some being the smallest in the world I think. We had a great lunch from the salad bar and sat outside which was lovely.

They also have a great gift shop selling well priced souvenirs and lots of children's toys. There was also a paddling pool which looked popular, although we didn't go in...

A FAB day out for all the family with lots to see and do I think. Also, its a good size so we weren't exhausted by the end of it. Would highly recommend Drusillas and will definitely be returning. We came from London which was fine and quite an easy drive - doable for a day trip.

Had a lovely day with grandchildren ages 4 and 9, loved all the animals especially the two sloths and the bats well bat cave, the lady looking after them was very informative and very good with the children's question,s we went back again to watch them. Plenty to see but you need a good two hours. The other attractions were also were good,we only saw the two children briefly when they wanted a drink.Take a picnic as very expensive for food and drinks. The only thing that annoyed me was the extra large blow up side very nice but extra £3 for six goes x 2 then they wanted water guns for pool more money expensive day for two adults two children. They also have a splash pool, and the is what it is ,saw small boy approx two nearly drowned as, a brother we think pushed him on a whale in the pool and let him go straight into the water no adult around, a man jumped in to get him from under the water .

I went here with my 2 young daughters (4 and 2) on Sunday 4th August - what an excellent day out for the kids (and parents!).
It is very well built, very clean, reasonably priced and excellent for children's education.
At the end of the "Zoo Trail" there is an excellent adventure area with eateries, mazes, a paddling pool, a pub, mazes etc.
Parking is easy, access is easy just off the A27.
I thoroughly recommend taking your kids if they've never been before.

This is a nice little park. Very compact with small animals . They are well presented and there is a lot of information . A great effort has been made to provide education as well as enjoyment.
It has one of the most imaginative play areas I have seen. Excitement with safety.
I would recommend this park.

Everything from the carparking to signage is slick and very easy to understand. Entry prices are reasonable. We were in a group of eight and all of us felt the layout of the Zoo was excellent and flowed naturally. We had four kids with us who loved the play park and remarked how big and clean it was. I have never seen such happy staff, even the cleaners were stopping to wave at the kids on the train as it went past. We have all been to numerous zoo's around the country, this one is the best so far. Last comment, £1.85 for biggest ice cream ever...... Brilliant!!

We went on 31st July. It was a great day. The animals looked happy enough and there was a good variety of smaller zoo animals. No tigers, lions or bears here. Irritating though was the "IKEA" system of getting you around the zoo, there's one route and only 1 short cut, highly irritating when a small child needs to use the toilets. Other than that the play areas were good and clean, and the staff really friendly.

We had a wonderful day here. It's good value to get in and absolutely loads to do. The zoo section alone took us 2 hours to see all the aninals! The enclosures are wonderful and animals incredibly well cared for. Lots of variety too. Very impressed.
There are at least 3 large play areas for children plus a splash pool (remember kids swim stuff)
My only negative was my husband's pie it was disgusting but I enjoyed my pizza, the kids chicken nuggets looked homemade and other menu choices eg the fish looked nice so won't mark it down because of a dodgey pie!!! Lots of picnic area's too if you prefer to take your own.

We decided we wanted to go around a zoo at our own speed rather than with friends and family. We used the Tesco Clubcard offer which made a more sensible cost choice.
Although it is aimed at children we really enjoyed the zoo part. You get up close to the animals and they are active and, seemingly, relaxed in their enclosures.
The zoo part is separated from the children’s activities so you don’t get distracted.
We really enjoyed the day, although I would recommend going outside the school holidays if you are older adults without children.
The children’s activities are mainly not rides but climbing exhausting type, which are probably better for them than just being driven around. Most of the children there seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Plenty of places to sit down and eat sandwiches.
Would recommend.

I have purposely joined trip advisor, just now, as whilst browsing the internet, I noticed a negative review of Drusillas. I have been taking my children here for 8 yrs now, it is amazing value for money (especially if you become members) One negative review states the entrance is dark - Yes, well that will be because your going through the section with snakes etc - and our cold blooded friends do prefer a bit of dark! As for guinea pigs (on another negative review) I'm struggling to recall ever seeing any, and believe me there's not a bit of Drusillas I haven't done. This zoo is always clean and the animals are very well looked after, my 5 and 8 yr old know what a fennec fox looks like and that a red panda has little resemblance to a normal one ! Children love the animals, love the play areas and love the pool, anyone not getting it really needs to get back in touch with their inner child, this is heaven for little people, and if you don't want to buy food there, take a picnic, there's loads of picnic areas and please adults go and have a fun time with your kids.

We decided to visit Drusillas as we have an 18 month old boy who was getting bored of going down the beach everyday. I think I had as much fun as him whilst we were there. Plenty of things to see and do. Very reasonable to buy food. The animals were very well kept and staff clearly looked after them very well. The place was well maintained and clean in all areas we visited. I would defo recommend a visit.
