Drusillas is a great place for kids. lots to do from1+. Very expensive day out though. Go early and make the most of it. You can take a picnic. Take swim suits if good weather as they have a splash pool. No scooters. The play parks are great and my kids spent most of there time there. Lots of places to leave buggies.

A great small animal zoo, and larger in size than you expect. Animals well looked after in great enclosures, walk through Lorikeets and Lemurs. Obviously geared to children, but don't be put off by this as we nearly were. Would have been a big mistake, thorough enjoyable visit

Our 9 yr old was treated to the 'keeper for a day' activity at Drusillas for his birthday We have been members since our 11 yr old was born and have visited on a regular basis. Even so there in always something fresh and new at every visit.

Seeing behind the scenes added another dimension to our experience. We were particularly impressed that it wasn't simply about seeing the animals up close and feeding them, he also had to do his fair share of cleaning up after the animals and preparing their food. The excellent keeper Natasha also gave him lots of interesting facts about the animals and their care.

A truly memorable day

This is an ideal place for a day out with children of all ages. Our grandchildren are 5 and 2 (twins) and love it. If it were not so expensive it would get 5 stars!!

Great for the kids, with lovely animals and as they are all small, none of them look too caged in.

We visited drusillas on the 5/02/2012 for our sons 2nd birthday. When we got there the place was covered in snow so we doubted it would be open but it was! We were offered half price tickets and also tickets to return which we will defiantly be using! All the staff were cheerful and extremely helpful. Most attractions were open, even the thomas train, which my son was dying to go on. Unfortunately the thomas shop was closed but after asking at the other shop a kind gentleman came and opened it for us as we had promised our son he could chose a present for his birthday.
The service we received was excellent and the attractions were varied and interesting. We defiantly look forward to visiting again, hopefully next time not in the snow.
Defiantly recommend for a good day out and easy to find as well.

Great as a kids zoo, not much else, a bit corny plus it needs good weather to make the most of it.

We were looking for something to do with my 27 and 20 year-old daughters that would appeal to us all and Drusillas turned out to be the answer. Clearly, the zoo is orientated to young children with the Thomas train and the extensive play areas, however the more unusual collection of animals in the zoo kept our interest levels up. I particularly liked the fact that as soon as you got through the entrance, you were seeing the animals.

The entrance fee provided good value for money and we also had coffee and ate in the Explorers Cafe Restaurant, which we thought was of good quality.

The best thing for me, as we live so close to Drusillas, is having an annual pass. I used to pick my kids up from school and be at the park in 15 mins. They could play on whatever they wanted for a couple of hours before closing time - and I didn't worry we weren't seeing everything in one day. There is something for all ages and there are lots of events on throughout the year. My grandaughter loves it and we get lots of use out of the annual pass again, 3rd generation!

This park is very good for young children. The price is very expensive for families. There is a lot to see and do. My grand daughters love to see the animals. They also enjoy having a pic-nic lunch and then look forward to playing in the play area. There are many different things to try, swing boats, slides a zip ride to name but a few. For younger members the ride on Thomas the train, which is included now in the entrance fee.

Suited to families with young children. Its not huge, so you should be able to see everything but things can get a bit cramped on holidays and sunny days. Pick your day carefully and you should have fun!

The complete zoo experience for kids with lots of interactive features. Crawl into the middle of the Meercats, or compare your sprinting speed to those of various animals. Not cheap but a full day's entertainment.

My daughter has been obsessed with Drusillas all her life and even now, at 16, is jealous because a friend of hers has a job there at weekends. It has never disappointed us, even when the English weather does its worst!

Thank you! We had a perfect day on Sunday at Drusillas. We were amused by the animals, the maze was great and so were the climbing frames. All the staff gave us a smile and the chips were generous and good. A happy 12 year old and foster parents!

I have very fond memories of Drusillas from being a child. We live within 30 mins drive and were given annual passes as a family for Christmas this year. We visited today for the third time with our 20 month old daughter....and that's since Christmas! As she is still quite young they don't tend to be long visits as she is not yet old enough for what is an amazing play park at the culmination of the zoo route (allow a few hours for this if your kids are over 5 and under 15!!) She loves the monkeys and the penguins and we have a lovely walk (she runs) around looking at the animals. New things since I was smaller include a lemur walkthrough where you can get up close to the ring tailed lemus and 'lory landing' where you can enter the enclosure of Lory birds and they flock around you to feed from your nectar pot (remember your £1 contribution for this as it's well worth it!!)

Finish off with a ride on the Thomas train and then you can loop round and re-enter the zoo trail again or find your way out past the dangerously expensive gift shops!

One word of advice though - take a picnic as the cafe's and restaurant are pretty pricey!

An after thought of advice - get there early in the holidays / weekends as the queue can be massive!

seems expensive, but break the cost down per hour and divide by the fun kids have and it's not so bad

This makes a lovely day out for young children. The zoo adds an educational aspect to the day out. the animals are all kept in good clean conditions and there are some handling opportunities. the playpark is great fun for all ages and there is an indoor part for rainy days as one can never rely on the english weather. The csar park is free but that is all that will be free. There are too many optional extras within the park, and you know kids they always want the things that are not included so it can be an epensive day out. There are food outlets but there are also plenty of picnic areas if you wish to save a few pennies. The water area is nice if you get as hot day and the maze is great fun too. The shops are a bit pricy.

This is a delightful small animal zoo, with a great childrens play area. All the animals are small & sweet, from meerkats to penguins & tiny monkeys. Good for younger children, up to about age 10/11. The bats are good too. Quite expensive for families tho so definately worth making a day of it.
