Went here with a friends and their son who is the same age as our daughter. It does exactly what it says on the tin, a miniature steam railway (providing you get the right day and avoid the diesels). We managed to pad the day out with a picnic.
Positives; miniature steam engines & the staff were very helpful and polite.
Negatives; the maze didn't have leaves on the bushes and so scrapped the kids.
Well worth a trip if you are nearby and has a child that likes trains.

Loved this place, so much to do with even more to come, we could have spent the whole day here. Bring a picnic as there's loads of places to picnic. Playgrounds well laid out and maintained and trains were lots of fun.

POSITIVES. The park is lovely. The railway circuit is quite long and good. The lakes are nice and the play areas good for young children. The price did not seem excessive, especially if you buy the ticket that gives you as many train rides as you like. Our young grandchildren 2-4) had a very good time.
NEGATIVES. I went to the Eastbourne Miniature Steam Railway to see miniature steam trains. Seems reasonable. But they were running only a miniature diesel engine powered by a small internal combustion engine. The steam engines were there, I was told, but they weren't running them. That's misleading. The outdoor cafe was very poor, understaffed, desperately slow and poor value. If you're disabled you'll have to leave plenty of time if you need a WC because you have to fight your way into the shop in order to get a key.
CONCLUSION: I'd go again but call in advance to make sure steam trains are running, and I'd take my own food.

What a great place to spend a family day out! My 2 kiddies (4 & 18months) absolutely loved the train and adventure play area, running around the park, exploring the maze, watching the trains, waving to the train from various points around the park. The only thing they didn't love was going home!
Reasonably priced, and the annual pass is good value. Everywhere in the park was spotlessly clean and beautifully kept, all the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Nice little tea garden and also plenty of picnic areas. The little play houses and areas dotted along the nature trail were an added bonus for the kids.
We will be back again and again and cannot recommend this place highly enough for a family outing.

I absolutely love this place. It's quaint but big enough that when it's busy you're not all squashed together. It's something built from the love of miniature trains and not for money. Plenty of picnic areas and lovely swings and slides too. I could go every week and not get bored

We stopped off here to break up our journey to Southampton with our 2 year old son. It's a great place to spend a family afternoon. The miniature steam railway takes about 5 mins to go round and it circles a lake with geese and the occasional wild rabbit! My son loved it. I would recommend paying the extra £2.00 for unlimited rides. They have a fantastic play park for older children and a separate one for toddlers which is fenced in and safe. They have a lovely cafe and a picnic area if you want to take your own lunch. You can take the woodland walk which we unfortunately didn't manage to do as our son was tired. Would highly recommend this place for an afternoon of fun!

We knew nothing of this place but decided to pop in on our way home from Eastbourne. We were a family of six adults and four young children and we were so glad we stopped. The children loved the play areas and the train rides and had an absolutely superb time.

We come here all the time as have a annual membership. Really good value for money and the children love the trains and play areas. Lovely walk around the lake and right next to the main line so you can see the trains going by too. The park.has added new attractions such as a maze and grandma's garden which is still under construction. Great day out in good weather.

Worth every penny the grandchildren also enjoyed it would recommend to all age groups the unlimited ticket is the best for a family of four.

As much as the young children enjoy it the adults enjoy riding the steam train too. I would recommend it. Its a nice little ride. Small play areas suitable for 5yrs and above and an area for toddlers too. Nice little park.

Our grandchildren love it and so do we. If we had to come up with a mini moan, it would simply be that we'd appreciate more simple garden bench type seating around the whole site, not all of us find picnic benches so easy. Otherwise difficult to fault and hard to get the children away from which says it all. Food good and reasonably priced.

Family run attraction. Lots for the kids to do. a lovely walk round a lake with play equipment dotted along the way. Lots of things for the kids to do, ride the miniature train, look at the toy trains. Food and drink reasonably priced. We liked it so much on the first visit we bought an annual pass.

lovelly little place, mix of steam and diesel trains. You can buy a ticket for unlimited rides, well worth it. The machines (ride on and watch) are 20p yes thats correct! Have your 20p pieces at the ready. Good food at the cafe, or take a picnic, we have done both. Have a picnic by the lake. You can spend the day here, but not spend too much money

Nice steam trains and plenty for everyone to do as long as it's a dry day. Shame no public transport to the site. you do need a car as not in centre of tourist area

Visited here the week-end before christmas with our daughter, grandson and elderly father. Good value for money. Had a ride on the steam engine which took you to see santa in his grotto. Our grandson received a substantial gift not the usual tat which ends up in the bin. Mulled wine and warm mince pies were included in the price. We had a good laugh with the staff who were all so friendly. A lot of hard work goes into this place and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Refreshments are available and there is a small shop. The annual membership is amazing value at £12:50. This would be a good outing whatever the time of year. We hope to return in the summer. Well Done to all concerned.

What a lovely outing for children under probably about ten. We have gone there for years and we are always made so welcome by the friendly staff. The food is lovely and very reasonably priced. We just went to their lovely Christmas event and it was gorgeous.
The cost of a years membership at £12.50 per person is just amazing. They have a well stocked shop at good prices too.
We would thoroughly recommend a vist if you have young children.

I have to say we were astounded by the value for money over the Santa weekend. (20 and 21st Dec). Everyone gets transported to see Santa on the mini train, the gifts were great (we got a magenetic Ludo game, Mr potatohead and christmas activity book with a chocolate. I actually wondered if they are making any money! Even the adults get a mince pie and mulled wine or fresh orange juice. We had gone on the Saturday late afternoon and there were queues, so we decided to come back on Sunday. We got the first train. No wonder there were queues it was a really lovely experience and well worth the money. There is plenty to do around the park too, a lovely day out and one the kids will remember for many years to come!

I saw this attraction listed in a tourist brochure (Sussex 2014 top attractions) and decided it would be worth a visit. Had a good and pleasant visit, the staff were courteous and TG community friendly too.

it was nice sitting on the train and the tiny museum. The play area was nice for younger children in good weather. not really too much to do for older children.
