Unlike some, this pier is so pretty and nicely kept it was a pleasure to walk out on. Out of season not much was open but it is clear that in summer there are cafes, bars and even a club.

I'm glad to see that the Pier has been restored in quick order after the fire last year. However it needs something more than the Fish & Chip shop at the entrance and the handful of little shops along the boards. I'm not saying replace the amusements that were destroyed but it does need something to enhance the interest of a bracing walk around its length. You do, however, get a great view when you reach the end and see in the distance Hastings to the East and Beachy Head to the West. Turn round also to admire the stunning Eastbourne Promenades and Hotels. A wonderful walk on a warm summer's evening watching the sun fade away over the Downs.

The entrance to the pier was obviously in use for fish and chips etc, but although the pier itself was being well maintained nothing much was open at the far end and we couldn't walk all the way round plus the camera obscura which was signposted was not open nor were the upper walkways which would have given an interesting coastal view and a view back over Eastbourne and inland.

First visit on the pier since the fire. Repairs nearly completed although entrance a little bare huge space with only a few picnic tables. Walked to the end however was closed near the end unsure why. Would be nice to see a few more shops, ice creams, and some amusements.

So pleased to see the pier rebuilt, it is a gorgeous structure - a shame that the previous buildings haven't been recreated. Thank goodness the glass studio is still there, lovely glass animals and flowers, hand blown/made on the premises at extremely reasonable prices.

The pier is nice and repaired after a recent fire... but in fact you might not want to go further than the very fresh fish and chips at the entry to the pier. Buy a pack and wander along the pier eating them.

Best of the pier is definitely the view. Pub or fish & chips are very poor, quiet. Shops are uninteresting. After the fire, without the slot machines room, pier feels kind of sad. Nice for a walk but not to stay too long.

We visited last year after the fire when things weren't looking great but we were pleased to see the renovation of the pier. The new owner has made a good job and we had a lovely walk along the pier.

Lovely pier to walk along but there were few shops and restaurant there - perhaps not everything was open as it was early April.

Good to enjoy the sunshine even on a cold windy day. Would enjoy a bit more to do on the pier but I'm already happy it's back open again

This is a typical seaside pier with many amusements. What is unusual is that (for children) the rides are very reasonably priced - and, either way, the stroll along the pier is free!

It is a nice place with a good atmosphere although with the changes in recent years it's definitely not what it used to be.

Recommend having tea and cake in the popular Victorian Tea Room at the entrance of the pier, fairly priced and good old fashioned tea leaves! Staff friendly. Early in the season so not a lot going on at the moment. Pier is well maintained, work going on at the far end of the pier at the moment.

We visited the pier and found it clean an not too crowded. Had Victorian Tea in the Tea House on the pier and that was nice and fairly priced.

Much more subtle than its Brighton equivalent and actually better maintained - a great place for a stroll.

Not much actually open on the pier. Had afternoon tea in the tea room at the front of the pier. Most of the shop outlets were empty. There was a bar at the end but we did not go in.

Sadly not many attractions open - maybe the majority only open in the summer months.

There is a sign up on the dome for a camera obscura but it wasn't clear how to access it, or even if it was (still) open.

The fish and chips were good.

Unlike many other seaside towns, no amusement arcades to be found (not necessarily a bad thing!)

We tried to get into the Victorian Tea Rooms on the pier but it was really busy with many people waiting. So we walking a little further to the cafe bar for coffee which was also really nice but very modern.
The weather was breezy and a little rain (Easter Sunday when Storm Katie hit the UK in the evening). Therefore it was nice to get out of the rain for a nice coffee.

All the boards have gone now and there's a big open space with a few picnic tables . It's been taken on by a local man and the words thank you for supporting sheik's pier are what you see as you leave! He has his lions heads on all lamp posts now but it's good he's putting money into it.

You can't miss this walking along Eastbourne coast... Pier is stretching a good few 100m into the sea. It is beautifully reconstructed. Beware of seagulls! They will steal your fish and chips :-)

There is not a lot on the pier really (at least during Easter weekend). A bar, a few souvenir shops, a chippy. And what looks to be a nightclub. But it was a fun visit for us and brought back lots of memories of simpler times from when I was a child. The pier looks like it is being renovated a bit, and it doesn't look too bad on the surface (i.e. the bits you see when walking on it). Worth a visit.

Nice, clean place for a walk, beautiful view from the pier to the beach and the city. Big plus for free of charge entry.
