Used to come here a lot with the kids, then grandkids. Was away the day of the fire, had actually been on the beach the previous day. My Daughter rang me. Still go to visit the few remaining shops
Why does no-one put sprinklers on these old wooden structures. The Grandkids loved the soft play area upstairs and playing the "penny" machines, dance mat.

I visited the Pier with Family. Family Reunion. Was very Sad as the Pier was under Restoration.
Was Able to see Restoration through Viewing Windows and It looks like the Workman have been Working Very Hard under Difficult Circumstances. WELL DONE! I felt really Glad to see Poems and Pictures that People have wrote and drawn about how they felt about the Fire. It was Nice to see the Gift Shop is still doing really well. Able to buy a Few Gifts of My Visit. Had a Walk along Pier and went into Glass Shop and watched the Lady making glass Flowers. Even though the Weather was Chilly I very Much Enjoyed My Trip on the Pier.

Good view of coast line from pier. Although a large part was destroyed by fire in March 2014 restoration is well under way and it is possible to walk to the end. Due to time of year all shops and kiosks were not open but the view of the coastline was excellent

Due to the fire damage the centre at the front of the pier is under going major work but you can still walk around the sides to the pier café ( for a coffee) and the shops and amusements are still trading.

Never miss a chance to wander round a pier. Loved the fairy lights and the architectural detail of the sadly closed camera obscura. The pier looks beautiful from the beach at sunset. We visited early evening and had a very pleasant walk.

Probably worth avoiding the pier at the present time other than for a stroll. Although the tea-rooms and chippy are open, the middle section (where the amusement arcade was housed) is undergoing post-fire reinstatement works.

We had to see the fire damaged pier. We were sad to see it but loved the way the hoarding round the burnt part had portholes to allow us to see the damage and what was being done.

Beautiful pier I loved the artwork being shown at the moment, its such a sham about the fire damage. I did feel slightly uneasy when I looked through the glass how it was still held up but im sure its perfectly safe.

This Pier is trying to recover from the devastating fire it had and work is currently continuing. This can be viewed through portholes on the decking.
Although there is a decent Tea-Rooms, Gift and Sweetshop, unless you want to go fishing off the end of it or frequent the Disco bar, (open on certain evenings) there is nothing to do.
Eastbourne should take a leaf out of Southwold's Pier and introduce an amusement arcade and Resturant/Cafe.
