Had a lovely afternoon walking along the eastbourne seafront, and along the pier. Nice beach, close to the bandstand, with the band playing out. Lots of cafes and restaurants on and around the pier, and many more within 500 yards. All the usually on offer, fish n chips, cream teas, burgers, candy floss, mussels etc. lots of tribute bands every Friday and Saturday through the summer, plus kids events, firework displays and so on. The promenade is clean and inviting. A nice place to visit!

I took a meander along Eastbourne's Pier one delightfully warm and sunny day towards the end of July, and being mid summer many others were also enjoying this charming Victorian seaside pier and its attractions on this fine day.

Eastbourne Pier is not a long pier, but it has many amenities including the obligatory amusement arcade,as well as a fish & chip shop together with a coffee shop situated adjacent to the pier's entrance.
Like most piers nowadays, admission is free, but once you're on the pier you may breath in the fresh sea air and enjoy the views whilst you enjoy a stroll to the far end passing by the customary ice cream and cold drink kiosks on the way, together with a nice souvenir and gift shop as well as a 'Mix & Match' shop selling nuts, dried fruits and other goodies too.
There's a 'Victorian Tea Room' and also a bar on the pier where one may sit down and quench their thirsts should they so wish.

Eastbourne Pier is but a short walk from the town centre, and once there, you'll find that plenty of seating is provided which makes it an extremely pleasant place to while away some time on a summer's day and admire the scenery, and perhaps watch the fishermen catch their dinners from the end of the pier too.
Lots of Ice Cream and fizzy drinks too - the kids will love it.

The day was not a good one for visiting the pier as it was raining and windy, so we went into the restaurant/tearoom which was a little on the expensive side, but served 'real tea' (loose leaves). We look forward to visiting the pier on a better day when we go to Eastbourne again. It looks as if it would be interesting on a nice day.

buts needs some TLC. We did visit during April though so I'm sure the colder months are when lots of things are spruced up ready for the summer trade. There is one main amusement arcade which shut in the evening but I'm guessing this is due to the time of year. There are places to eat and a night club further down but this was being renovated. It's worth a visit and nice to walk around. I'm sure when the sun is out and later months it will have more entertainment.

It's a beautiful pier, but not at its best on cold and windswept February day. In truth, the place is looking in need of some tlc - hopefully it'll get a lick of paint in the spring. But fair play - the arcade kept our kids entertained for an hour on a day when we visited the town and most places seemed to be closed for the winter.

This is a beautiful old pier built around the mid Victorian period by the most famous architect and pier builder - Eugenius Birch. I appreciate that the owners haven't gone down the route of Brighton's Palace Pier and swamped its structure with fairground rides, stalls and other garish buildings. Yes it is in need of some refurbishment, which has been ongoing over the past few months. Unfortunately the original Camera Obscura was closed on my recent visit, which is an attraction of which to be really proud and when it reopens I would thoroughly recommend. A lovely, fairly new, addition is the Victorian Tea Rooms situated about half way along, this is well decorated and offers a good selection of nicely presented light snacks, freshly brewed coffees and teas and soft drinks, with a waitress service, so much nicer than self-service when you are tired. The glass blowing emporium which has been in situ for at least 30 years has moved to larger premises on the other side of the pier. Here you can watch various objects being blown and even order your own bespoke items, as I did.

I do miss the old Pier Theatre though, which I visited many times as a child and also the speedboat that used to offer rides from the end of the pier. But all in all it is still an enjoyable experience and well worth a stroll along either in the summer sun, or a bracing walk during the winter months.

All in all it is an enjoyable experience

Old piece of history, Was being painted and being brought back to a good standard when we visited, I went to Brighton the day before and I personally feel this was a nicer pier.

visited Dec 30 not many people out all was closed except the arcade but what's the point of going to a pier not to lose a couple of pounds in the slots, nice walk around the pier on a December evening.

We sent on a snowy bitterly cold day in winter, there were no other people on the pier, it was amazing to think the pier was build such a long time ago.

My hubby grew up in Eastbourne it was a pleasant time we had revisiting his childhood haunt, The Pier. We had fun at Funtasia and trying a couple of games he used to play!

It's a nice place to see Eastbourne seaside and enjoy a bit of sun (and wind!).

The Victorian Tea Rooms is a nice and cosy place to enjoy the view while accompanied by a hot cup of tea.

If the weather is nice this is the place to take walk and breath in the crisp, healthy and refreshing sea air.

A normal experience for a pier but good fun nevertheless! My daughter ( aged 8) enjoyed herself and the two pence pusher machines were a hit!

Nice to be able to walk out to sea and get some fresh air at the same time. Also a very nice lunch in the Victorian Cafe. Some bits could do with a makeover.

For me it lacked any vibrancy that i'm used to when I first walk into an amusement arcade on a well established pier.Hopefully the owners will have a rethink .

Return to the fifties and sixties on a pier with amusement arcades, fishing, candy floss and a pub. Old fashioned but fun....buy your cockles at the entrance, have afternoon tea in the middle and get blown about and the end. And you get in free!
