The Eastbourne pier is one of fifty piers remaining in England. Get nice pictures of the seafront, buy souvenirs or enjoy a traditional english afternoon tea there. It also had a lively pub in the past but this doesnot exist anymore.

A bit small and the pub at the end wasn't open as expected. Great gift shop. Lovely sunny day with panoramic views of Eastbourne town old and new. No tangfastics to hand - as in the advert!

A nice walk along the seawall to the Pier where there are some typical pier foods like chips and ice cream. There is an arcade as well. The views were nice a warm sunny day.

Nice to walk along one of the last few existing piers a cold morning walk before breakfast, but well worth it It felt a little nostalgic

Not as long as Brighton Pier and certainly not as much to do on it. The cafe was just okay for a light lunch. Would not make an effort to return to it even with my grandchildren

There are not many Victorian piers left in the UK, but this is amongst the best of them. A (free) stroll down its length shows fishermen at work on the beach from the fishes' point of view together with a wonderful panorama the grand promenade. For once you can listen to the sea and get away from the sound of traffic. The Victorian Tea Room is highly recommended for scrummy tea and scones, complete with clotted cream and strawberry jam. How good is that?

Such a windy wet day that we were glad that some amusements were open. Went in looking for toilets just found a small one. By the pier are toilets but you had to have a 20p piece which I didnt have one. Didnt stay there long as no refreshments open.

This is a good old-fashioned seaside pier with something for all ages.
Once through it's wonderful entrance there is a good selection of shops offering everything from souvenirs to fish & chips, including the usual amusement arcade. If you walk to the pier's end you can watch people fishing, or just sit in a shelter and people watch! Also there are wonderful views from the pier, including those from a camera obscura.
Great seaside fun.

Victorian pier with many shops and also camera obscura at the top. The camera obscura unfortunately was closed but we will return next year. Also traditional fish and chip shop on pier, sea views and relaxing walking to the end.

what an excellent pier this is,ther cannot be many left in the country such as this. candy floss arcades cafes shows and the braising walk to the end where the fishermen all share the same optimism if not the luck. best get to see this one before it goes the way of the others.

Spent the afternoon on the Pier one day when it was raining - the children love the variety of amusements. Quaint Victoria Tea Room.

Rare sight to see an old Victorian pier. It needed a lick of paint, etc but it was well worth a look. It is a great pity that it is in such disrepair. It is a shame the camera obscura was shut.

We had a beautiful sunny day to walk along and soak up the atmosphere and take in the little shops, cafes and people watch.

Still charming, but some serious TLC is needed to bring it back to its former glory. The Victorian Cafe was wonderful.

OK, so it is a pier. And nothing else. There's an amusement arcade and you can buy food, drinks and gifts (all of dubious quality).

Sea-side Piers. There is something about them? I think, we as Brits, love walking up the pier. Get to the end & walk back again.
At Eastbourne, theres much more going on. With its Victorian entrance, you have, what makes the sea-side British. Buy do-nuts, candy floss, fish n chips, fudge, cockles, whelks, postcards, fridge- magnets. Have a beer, have tea & scones. Have a flutter in the arcades.
Must of all, enjoy the sea air & the view!

the pier is distinctly lacking in seats and shops and was not as good as brighton pier which was more interesting

This pier is lovely! It's a proper old style Victorian pier that hasnt been ruined by a loud funfair and cheap 'attractions'.

There's a lovely proper tea room that serves excellent afternoon tea (scones, clotted cream and strawberry conserve) with loose leaf tea in proper china. it's a bit pricey, but the views are totally worth it.

As with most piers, it's a little windswept and dilapidated but, contrary to other reviews, it's sturdy Victorian ironwork is in good condition, though in need of a lick of paint.

If you want shiny touristy stuff go to Blackpool pier; if it's traditional English charm then Eastbourne pier is just the ticket.

Oh, and the jellied eels look amazing!

Go down the pier, spend a few bob and support the traders. We dont want to lose the great tradition of the last few good piers in UK and this one is so nicely kept.

What can you say, it's a pier and as piers go, it is still just a pier. Short on attractions unless you want to gamble, drink or dance.

Although the pier is not as good as the one in Brighton, but it is good enough for a quiet place like eastbourne
