Table of 8 friends ate here on a saturday night and we all chose the Meze. What fantastic food, an endless train of delicious dishes with attentive service. Once we had finished our (or should i say when we thought we had finished our meze) we were all very complimentary and very full. Then we realised we still had the mains to go followed by dessert! The waiting staff allowed us time for a breather before the main courses which we used to sample the great wine list. The food was cooked beautifully with a very extensive selection of dishes. There really is something for everyone. We will definitely be back again soon. Thank you.

I can't quite remember what we all had, but all the food was good quality. The service was excellent, very attentive and prompt.
We all loved the "stars in a bottle" lights on the tables. And the wine!

We had hummus and calamari as starters, was advised to get extra gyros pitta as hummus was a large portion ( why they can't just add 2 pittas to this starter can only be put down to charging you an extra £1.50 for a 10p gyros !!! A nice Mark up )
But, as it was huge and very tasty I can forgive this. Calamari was fresh tasting and not too chewy.Mains were kleftiko (massive lamb shank) served with potatoes parsnips peppers carrots and rice and grilled lamb chops which was served with chips (homemade and cooked in lard, gorgeous) and salad.
However, chops were overcooked and very dry and I couldn't eat the 4th one as I had jaw ache from chewing. They were however really tasty and in hindsight I should have asked for them "medium".I mentioned this to the waiter as he had asked how the meal had been.
Waitress came over with our bill and had deducted the chops £13.95 from the bill which I thought was reasonable and a good piece of management. Overall a lovely meal and service so would definitely return.

Found this on TA and can also thoroughly recommend it. Went early on a Saturday evening and they were able to fit us in before their bookings arrived. Very friendly staff and super food. Had the taramasolata and beetroot dips and unusually they also cater for gluten free bread. A nice moussaka and the chicken & mushroom sauce followed. The wine by the glass is reasonably priced and palatable.

What a lovely find in Eastbourne, took mother and father for lunch today and it was fantastic. Proper Greek food; it felt as though you were in a taverna the atmosphere was great and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. All in all a fun lunch which tasted quite lovely and we will certainly be back

Very pleasant and welcoming staff. The Greek Meze menu was delicious and varied and too much for us to finish. Good quality wine and reasonable prices. There was nothing to find fault with.

What a fun night? Met up with some friends from out of town and booked in for a meal tonight. All 6 of us had the mezes. The food was amazing - really authentic (I lived in Crete for a few years) and the Feta was the best I have tasted outside of Greece. Really delicious dishes and plenty of them. A couple of bottles of red and Mythos for the non wine drinker. Staff were attentive and friendly. Couldn't have asked for a better evening and all for a really reasonable price. Definitely will return - especially since I've noticed that they do proper Pita gyros ;)

We decided to stop here for lunch on our day off as I had been here once few months ago and I really liked it. We were so happy about the flavours of the dishes. Really good food that reminds me of proper Greek food. Nothing was disappointing. Everything was great and served with a smile. I wish I lived in Eastbourne to come back here more often.

We wanted a snack at lunchtime - it looked busy form the outside - which was a very good sign :-) They managed to fit us in - very quick service but not rushed - Great atmosphere. My son & myself had Pita wraps & chips - very juicy meet & an ideal light snack - not too filling. My wife had Mixed dips & my sons Fiancee had the Greek Salad ( which she asked for only green olives & they made sure just green :-) - All the food was well presented and fresh
Excellent friendly service - we will visit again whne we are next in Eastbourne

Our first visit, certainly won't be the last . We ordered the lunch time meze which was plentiful and really tasty, the taramasalata was the best we had ever experienced. There was plenty of pitta bread, again delicious, and also more bread in a basket so we could really get the most of the dips and the lovely sauces.
The staff were efficient and very friendly and the manager took the time to chat to us about the food and our visit and made us feel appreciated as customers. We will certainly recommend this restaurant and visit again.
Thank you.

Went to resturant on sat evening, having been there before I was looking forward to ordering the lamb chops again , when they came they were very tough, we tried to eat them but in the end gave up . The owner asked if we had enjoyed our meal ,we told him about the problem , he offered to get us some thing else , we declined ,but after a few mins he brought us a plate of mousaka ,it was delicious, this was followed by a sharing plate of deserts, it's a wonderful place ,nothing is to much for the staff and owner ,

Buzzy place, we were lucky to get a table. Food very good, attentive manager. Rather too noisy, not a place for a romantic quiet dinner. But definitively cut above other Eastbourne eateries.

We had a lovely meal in a Saturday night sharing the mezze.
I did feel that they shouldn't have so many bookings or maybe more staff as it really wasn't very personal and I had to ask 3 times for things to be explained what they are as the answers were so rushed and almost sarcastic. The staff running around at first was funny but after a while it was quite uncomfortable. I would like to go back on in a weekday evening and hopefully experience a more laid back personal touch.
Tasty food and very filling :)

We love going to Greece but often find that the food is a bit "samey" and limited. This restaurant offers the best of Greek food. Our Meze course was lovely and the mains were excellent; friendly and attentive staff added to the enjoyment of the evening. Highly recommended.

It's always interesting to compare Mezes.
For £20 inclu this is on an a par with most. We enjoyed all the starters but felt they were a bit mean with the bread. Even meaner when having asked for some more it appeared as a separate item ! +£1.75! (Expensive!) Of all the starters we were disappointed with the 'sausage' as it amounted to a few slices in a tomato sauce. The 'mains' were fine but with obvious absence of any lamb..
We ordered a bottle of Retzina & it was a good choice of wine & modestly priced.
So why 3 stars?
Well we were put in the cellar & there is a limit as to how much one can enjoy food when freezing cold! At no point were we offered seats elsewhere or asked if we were comfy! Others were placed at a table near us & taken upstairs promptly.
Staff, very bubbly young lady - but she simply couldn't open a bottle of wine with a cork screw! A clear management issue not training staff & unforgivable!
Would we go again? I guess so on a quieter night & I would tell them in advance how small a portion the bread is!

My wife treated me for a surprise weekend based in Eastbourne and the propieters of our B & B recommended gr.eat. A short walk from the B & B and we found the restaurant without any trouble. There were only 2 other diners there so we thought we would come back later, but it was a friday evening and the owner pointed out he would be fully booked from about 7.30 so we decided to eat whilst we were there, and were given several choices of tables - well it was only about 5pm. Excellent atmosphere, excellent food which was cooked to order, excellent wine and personal service including cutting my wife's fish off the bone for her. We can see why thy were booked up later in the evening.

As a pleasant surprise by my wife, for my birthday today (17th Feb '17), we enjoyed a fabulous lunch at the Gr-eat Greek Deli and Cuisine restaurant at 215 - 217 Terminus Road, Eastbourne, BN21 3DH.
The menu was authentic and varied; service was excellent, friendly and quick; background ambiance and music just right; the restaurant was full with people not being able to be seated (booking definitely advised even for mid-day lunch); and the sun was shining.Once a month they have live music Greek evenings, and they even will provide Greek cooking classes if need be.
Altogether a first class experience.
Many thanks indeed

Not any thing wrong with Cyprus kitchens but they are different from each other as much as distance between two countries, many time visited this resturant and it seems getting better and better. by the way owner is looks like Jose mourinho.

Small Friendly Greek restaurant in the main street. Pleasant Greek Music not too loud. We ordered the set meal including endless Mezzes all of which were absolutely delicious. They just kept coming and coming. Our kebabs and spicy beef main were also excellent. Other diners looked as if they were enjoying their meals too and there was a very friendly warm atmosphere. It is a little noisy as there are all hard surfaces and no curtains etc to soften the sound. Also it is so popular I would suggest you need to book. Do not order the Mezze unless you are feeling very hungry! I left my cardigan there and phoned the next day when they were shut but staff kindly came in to return it to me as I was leaving for home that morning.

During our short stay in Eastbourne we visited Gr/Eat and it was indulging . Nice décor, extremely polite and helpful owner/staff but most importantly Food was Yummy. We ordered mezzes and if you go this way be prepared for the treat (also try not to eat anything before) with bottle of very nice house wine have made this January cold evening perfect. Atmosphere, food, drink quality and value for money - spot on! The early booking advisable as even out of season restaurant seemed to be (hardly surprisingly) packed. We are looking forward to visit Eastbourne and Gr/Eat in April
