To come clean, I've never been the greatest fan of Greek food - preferring Turkish and Arabic. BUT this fairly newish Deli changed my opinion and backs the mission on their website of "Redefining Greek Food"
For a start its vibrant and not staid as many traditional Greek Tavernas are. The staff are attentive and smart, the menu is interesting and the food (and wine) extremely good.A cold Friday night and we still needed to book for one of the all evening tables. As we ate straight after work we were happy to vacate at 8.15pm.
For the record we had, Olives, Moussaka, Chicken Souvlaki and Baklava washed down with the best bottle of Greek Red Wine I've had, a Mirambelo at £17.50. Total with tip £50 which represented gr/eat value.We will be back.

Wow, what a great place! We celebrated my mother's 70th Birthday here last night. The food was fantastic, the service outstanding, even though there was 13 of us and they all made us feel welcome. They even got my mother up doing some greek dancing at the end of the meal. Definitely a memorable evening. Would highly recommend.

Good atmoshere, delicious food, amazing wine, and all in 100% Greek. I do appreciate places like this one. This is great example for making place authentic and simple, so you can feel yourself like on a Greek vacation ;)

"What a find" Found this amazing restaurant on google as quite new to the area.

Party of four, three of us had the Meze which was amazing, so much variety, beautifully cooked, delicious and just so much of it.
My daughter a vegetarian, had the stuffed Vine leaves followed by a wonderful Vegetarian Moussaka, needless to say they were perfect but she was unable to finish them but not for want of trying. Excellent value, excellent helpful, friendly service
We will definitely be returning soon

Everything my partner and myself had was gorgeous , saganaki, salad, souflaki and tzaziki fresh, perfectly prepared and served. Will definitely be coming back.

I visited on a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was about half full. The menu is not huge but has a fair variety with about a dozen starters and main courses and the usual dips and pita bread and a few salads.
They have a choice of around two dozen wines but as I was on my own I ordered a bottle of Mythos lager. They also have Fix lager which I've never seen in the UK before.
For my meal I ordered giant beans followed by pork souvlaki. The starter arrived fairly quickly and was delicious, just as good as any I have had in Greece. The pork souvlaki was served with chips and rice, just like it usually is in Greece and was very good indeed, with a good flavour from the marinade and a hint of charcoal from the flame grilling.
I have travelled extensively in Greece and eaten at many restaurants and my meal in Gr/eat was just like being back in Greece again. I will be returning in a couple of weeks to try the courgette balls and moussaka.

Visited last night with a friend. We both had the meze and the food didn't stop coming out. It was all very tasty. Had the cheapest white wine which was gorgeous like nothing I've tasted before. Service was great. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Had a fabulous meal with friends last night. Chicken souvlaki and Greek salad were wonderful. Freshly cooked and so well done. Lovely Greek red wine. What more could you want? Can't wait to eat here again.

We advanced booked for a pre Christmas family get together as I know its very popular and we were a party of eight.Well what can I say,the food was amazing.We all had the meze and what a great way to enjoy proper Greek food than to try everything in smaller portions.Everyone enjoyed everything that was on the table including my mother who can be a bit fussy with food.she tried eating things that she probably wouldn't have ordered.We will be returning FABULOUS FAMILY GET TOGETHER, AMAZING GREEK FOOD.

We went as a family for my husband's birthday, as we like Greek food, and we had a GrEat time. The food was excellent: we shared various dips and olives which were tasty and plentiful; then I had a whole bream which was perfectly cooked and had a lovely flavour; my husband enjoyed his chicken on a skewer, and apparently the tiger prawns and lamb shank were also very good. Sadly we were too full for dessert, but maybe this gives us a good excuse to come back for lunch! Very reasonably priced - and the wine sold by the glass was good too. The service was quick considering it was a Saturday night and they were full. Very friendly and helpful waitresses and (I presume) the owner was also attentive and personable. Thoroughly recommended

My husband and I chose to visit after a friend of ours had told us how good the food was. We totally agree, we both had the £19.90 per person meze selection there was a good choice of dishes plus main course and dessert. The staff were friendly and efficient. We will definitely come again.

We took my sister, who has severe learning disabilities to this restaurant last night for her birthday and had the most fabulous time.
The service was second to none. They made a massive fuss of my sister and made sure she really enjoyed herself.They were friendly, accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. They spoke directly to my sister ( as people often talk through us to her) and made time to find out her name and how old she was.
The food was delicious, can recommend...well EVERYTHING. It's all tasty. After dinner, the music was turned up and the owner got my sister up to do a bit of Greek dancing- a fantastic end to a fabulous meal and evening.
They also bought the cake, which we provided out to her and put on some birthday music and presented her with a bar of chocolate for her birthday. The owner then bought out the chefs to say hello to my sister, another great touch.
I cannot praise this restaurant enough and encourage everyone to visit.I also encourage locals from the area to support this restaurant.

Having worked as a waitress in a Greek restaurant for 23 years( and tasted all of the menu) I have to say that this was the best Greek food ever. The owner was really lovely helping me with my little amount of Greek language. I purchased some items from his deli and am reliving the dinner with some Fab Greek coffee. As I told him, if I lived within driving distance, I would be a regular visitor to GR/Eat. Fantastic!

If you like Greek food and you are vegetarian - or even if you are not - this is a great place. Best stuffed vine leaves and gemista that I have tasted in a very long time. Baked feta very moreish. Cod was a bit of a surprise as it came battered and, perhaps, more like British seaside food than Greek. Very friendly and efficient service. I'd very much like to go back next time we are in town.

Have been to this restaurant twice now and have to say the lunch menu is just as good as the evening menu. Had the mixed meze both times the food is excellent and the staff are really friendly and explain what all the dishes are. It was my friend's first time at Gr/eat, she was so impressed that she will definitely be returning with her family as will I.

I give Gr/Eat a 5 solely on how amazing the food tasted: all of my friends who came with me were amazed by how good the food was here. I have since recommended the restaurant to other friends and they tell me they were amazed as well.
Also, fun moment: I still remember our Greek server joking with me, "if you won't pronounce it, I won't let you order it!" I was sweating, trying my best to pronounce 'zamponotiropitakia' for the first time.

I had heard great things about this restaurant and adore Greek food so had high expectations and gr.eat exceeded them.
The setting on ground level is lovely and simple, modern and Mediterranean.
At lower ground level, it's like stepping into a more traditional Greek restaurant. It offers traditional Greek music also.
The atmosphere was better upstairs as there was a packed restaurant up there but if the restaurant were full, I'd chose to sit on lower level.....
The food and menu choices were great. We ordered lots of mezze and souvlaki. Greek wine and Mythos. No dessert as we were stuffed. Every bite was delightful. You can't go wrong here. Whether a Greek food fan or not, there is something for everyone. Our meal was c.£ 30 per person with tip.
The staff did not disappoint, friendly and welcoming, truly Greek .....
