This is a lovely hotel with proper service which was as expected by past generations.It is well priced and situated with easy access to seafront, although it requires negotiation of quite steep hill.
All food at breakfast and dinner was excellent and served by a very professional serving team.

· Belle chambre spacieuse (suite), pantoufles, bouilloire, tasses, cuillères, sets avec brosse à dents et dentifrice, etc. - tout est très confortable. L'emplacement est pratique si vous arrivez en voiture, comme nous le sommes pour d'autres options - difficile à dire. Très grand parking gardé très pratique en face de l'hôtel. Personnel attentif de l’hôtel et préposé au stationnement. Bon petit déjeuner J'adorerais rester dans cet hôtel.

Lovely hotel with very polite and helpful staff. I've been coming every year for the last 19yrs with my wife. This time the only disappointment was the
breakfast. The quality off the food was disappointing. It was badly presented and poorly cooked. Particularly the scrambled eggs which were enough to put you off your day. On two days the sausages were pink in side. Didn't eat in the evening but the standard had dropped on the breakfast.

Just stayed for one night , and it was great for the price . Lack of air con , and the fact breakfast ended at 9 am means it didn’t get 5 stars from me . Nice rooms and well appointed . 20 minute walk into town and nice places to eat .

A fairly nice stay over the Airbourne Weekend. A couple of issues with the restuarant, in terms of time waiting for the food. Overall the location you really cannot beat! A lovely outdoor swimming pool too.

Nice hotel, no disabled parking or any parking when I got there full of day visitors. My room was lovely possibly just refurbished every thing you want including a fridge. Room service was great had breakfast in my room overlooking the sea. Just one small question why tint the windows spoils the view a bit. Also on 3rd floor windows should not open wide as they did, a child could fall out. Staff were overworked they were short staffed, they tried to keep cheerful but it wears them down and the guests who cared noticed. As always there were guests who only cared about themselves, me, me, me people, sometimes you have to wait, tell the management your problems, don't be rude to the staff, they do their best. Local people using the pool with loads of loud kids (not guests), not conducive to peaceful reading, there is a code on the gate to get in so I guess the manager knows about them. I have visited twice now and will go back next summer.

I can only give a review based upon my own experience and doesn't necessarily reflect the wider experience of the hotel which appears to be very good based on reviews here. We arrived for a wedding. Rooms are not available until 2pm, so no time to freshen up. You can use the boot room to change, but no mirrors. So, toilet is only option. In my opinion, the small 'double' room we stayed in was not worthy of the £180 per night price tag. We were at back of hotel and overlooked the roofs. It was really hot, no Aircon . Opened window, but noted warning re: pigeons that can enter. Risked it, but still not great; no real difference. I'd say the place could do with a bit of a refresh in parts and Aircon. Overall, I think we'd have been better off finding a different hotel despite the convenience . On the upside, breakfast was good. A lot of options. Mind you, I did have to ask for a poached egg with my haddock even though it should have came with one.

Excellent three course Sunday lunch, accompanied by very good service. Good value. Not the first visit and won't be the last. Ideal for functions being so nicely placed at the better and quieter end of town. Gardens looking lovely.

My wedding took place on Saturday 27th July at The Hydro Hotel. I cannot thank them enough every single thing was faultless. The staff every one of them pulled all the stops out.The food was exceptional.Every single one of my guests were overwhelmed with the Hyro teams proffesionaiisam. Angie and Julian....you are our heroes...nothing was a problem. Is anyone is looking for a unique venue...this is the one. His everything that a wedding is that's dreamed about Thank you again Johnathon and your amazing team
