Just to say that my visit to the conservatory on my birthday today was AMAZING. Maybe I'm bias as I'm an ex member of staff (not through choice) but today's visit reinforced why I will always have fond memories of the Hydro. Although I only came in for a teacake and a pot of tea, the conservatory staff (George, Chloe, Shannon, Ai, Leo, Jeremy and Huw the barman) as well as managers, kitchen/porter and restaurant staff were so attentive and so kind on my visit; they even sang happy birthday to me! You have an excellent team there, Mr Owen, one I was very proud to be part of, and thank you everyone for a lovely afternoon. 💖

Celebrated an eightieth birthday. Everything about the experience was enjoyable. Food was good all around. I had the slow braised feather blade of beef and it was flakey and delicious. The double baked butternut squash, feta and basil tart was also very good. Top notch food. Service was very good. Professional and courteous. Treated us well, and tolerated the kids (thank you). Would recommend it to others for a celebration or family gathering.

The hotel was comfortable , though looked rather dated in places (the lift seemed to be something from the 1950s, I preferred to take stairs even if they were very narrow in places, rather than risk the lift). The hotel probably appeals to older generations than to younger - though at least had reasonable WiFi.
We had the cream tea in the conservatory restaurant, which was ok but seemed very overpriced.
Breakfast was disappointing. Two of our party requested scrambled eggs, which turned up under cooked. Even after returning asking for well-cooked eggs these turned up again still visibly under-cooked.

Only went there for one evening function and although the hotel itself was very pleasant and the service was good unfortunately the food was very poor so this review is only based on that.

Lovely hotel, had a brilliant few days and staff are all very friendly and made my birthday very special. Great place to relax. View from our bedroom, the garden and sea. Can't wait to visit again.
