We visited this restaurant for the first time based upon a recommendation from our friends who live in Eastbourne, we were not disappointed, but very impressed. even the guy who was singing, was actually pretty good, not obtrusive in any way.

Stayed in Eastbourne for my birthday treat, first night we went this restaurant for dinner, excellent service and the monkfish dish we both had was fabulous. The chorus of waiters singing Happy Birthday was a lovey touch ( and they could all sing!!)

We visited Eastbourne only for a couple days and we were just wandering around trying to find a place to eat and decided to try this lovely Italian ristorante! The welcome was friendly from both the owner and Dragan and happy to find out that few members of the team were Portuguese, Bárbara and Acacio. We enjoyed our food from start to end and drinks were very good too, I had a medium glass of montepulciano d' Abruzzo and my husband had Tequilla sunrise! Food, drinks and service were top notch! Thank you and all the best for everyone!

This will be our fourth visit to this restaurant. On this occasion we went because Duality were singing. They are a marvellous couple of singers, each with their own style who I would liken to Matt Monroe and Eva Cassidy. Although they sing individually they also sing together and they are quite splendid. I normally attend them at another Eastbourne venture but I have to say enjoyed them even more in the intimate La Locanda venue. They created a wonderful atmosphere and a good few people danced while they sang, creating a bit of a party atmosphere. Add this to good food which is always achieved at La Locanda and you have the ingredients for a perfect entertained evening. Well done La Locanda and please get Duality back.

La Locanda Del Duca is a superb individual Italian restaurant. The food was all to a very high standard, service by all staff was faultless and there was a good feel to the restaurant. A nice touch was being personally welcomed by the owner. This must be the best restaurant in Eastbourne.

We visit Eastbourne about once a month and we always visit The Pomodoro which is this one's sister restaurant and is next door. This time we thought we would try La Locanda. The menu is almost identical to The Pom and the food just as delicious. We would recommend the fish dishes in saffron sauce and the veal is always good too. We often share a buffalo and mozzarella starter and this time they brought it beautifully divided on two dishes! The restaurant it self is a bit smaller than next door with a more intimate atmosphere - lots of couples. Still very buzzy though and very Italian! On Sunday evenings they have live music and we enjoyed a duo singing classics from all eras. The music created a real party atmosphere with diners (and waiters) of all ages getting up to dance! It really was lovely. (No mention of GF pasta options of the menu - but same menu as next door, which does, so it would be worth checking). Thanks for a great evening!

Chanced upon this Italian restaurant and noticed they had live music (a gentleman vocalist. We booked for that evening and were so pleased we did. Really lovely food, great service by the charming staff, and a lovely happy atmosphere The vocalist was great, singing mostly 50s and 60s - just right for the slightly older clientele. Highly recommend.

After a lovely welcome, we both had a goats cheese starter. Delicious, My husband had salmon for his main course which was perfection, and I had calf liver which was tender, tasty and gorgeous, We could not fault the service and the kindness of the staff. Highly recommended.

Though the restaurant was full, staff was very attentive with excellent service. Delicious food came within minutes. We all enjoyed our Sunday lunch. This Italian eatery is a little gem in this quiet part of Eastbourne.

Where do I start? Greeted by the ultra efficient staff and immediately made to feel welcome. Wine selection is excellent. Even the house red (which is a Nero d'avola) is top notch and competitively priced.
The fillet steak in particular is a stand out main. Mine arrived with its luscious truffle and pate accompaniment in a mouth watering madeira jus. Even the potatoes and veg tasted sublime.
The (owner?) did his very best and asked if my steak was cooked to my liking and took genuine pride in ensuring everything was just perfect.
The restaurant is light, airy and nicely decorated. It was pretty busy on a Tuesday evening which was no surprise as this place is an absolute gem.
If you're considering a visit, ignore the few negative reviews and be prepared for a real treat.
Thank you for making our visit such a memorable one. I just wish you were closer so I could become a regular!

We have been on a Friday night for dinner my boyfriend and I.
We were promptly welcomed and seated to our table.
As a pre-starter they offer us olives and bread with butter which we expected to pay for it at the final bill, as some restaurants do, but no.
We started with one of the specials of the chef, burata cheese in bacon. We said we will like to share it and the waitress brang one portion on two plates very beautiful presented, and also was divine the taste .
As mains I had Gamberoni del Luca, which was a bigger portion than expected for a prown dish and beautifully presented as well.
My boyfriend had Medaglioni di manzo ai porcini , which at the first we tought is a small portion but was just perfect for a hungry man and super delicious as well.
As desserts I had tiramisu which I didn't liked it and my boyfriend had the chocolate fundge with ice cream and that one was amazing choice.
Service was poor, we waited a wile for our drinks order to be taken and to bring it.But we're polite staff and that's it .

From entering the restaurant we were welcomed and made to feel so comfortable by the fantastic front of house team. The restaurant as usual was very busy and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. We must have had one of the best waiters ever, really attentive, funny, and an absolute master of his trade. The food we ordered was excellent, and with the variety of starters and mains ordered by the 9 of us that dined, everything was perfectly cooked and presented.
We rounded off the evening with their delicious dessert wine, soaking the Italian biscuits to treat ourselves to an amazing after dinner experience. What a team. Visit, this has to be one of the best restaurants in Eastbourne.

Was recommended to this restaurant by our B&B owner. Oh my goodness the food is to die for ! We ate Saturday and went back Sunday. The Pork medallions were wonderful but the sauce was superb, I could have licked the plate ! Hubby had a steak with lots on top including finely chopped mushrooms, The next night I had Salmon, just perfect, hubby had Lasagna. If you can get a table, go there !

My fiancée booked this restaurant for my 40th birthday on our 1st night for our weekend away in Eastbourne.
The restaurant was busy on arrival (always a good sign) and we were seated promptly.
The menu had a good variety but not overly cluttered. We choose the 3 course menu option along with a nice bottle of wine.
The food was fantastic - really was fresh, well presented and tasted great.
The service was 1st class - the staff were efficient, friendly and made the night special for my birthday.
We enjoyed it so much we decided to come again on our 2nd and last night and once again experienced the same standard as our previous nights visit.
We would certainly recommend a visit if you value great quality food with a atmosphere to match.

A two day stay in Eastbourne found myself and my octogenarian dad dining in this busy restaurant, after a mid-afternoon recce of places to eat in the evening.
My dad has travelled extensively in Italy and is a harsh critic of sub-par and chain Italian restaurants. Fortunately, everything was beyond his expectation, from the welcome, to the menu and wine recommendations, very attentive and good humoured service, to the generous portion size that saw him admit defeat with eyes bigger than his belly.Nice little touches such as olives on the table, variety of breads, and proper linen table cloths and napkins made it an easy decision to return on our second night to explore other menu options that were a close second to the previous night’s choice of courses.
The owner stopped to chat with each table’s guests in the restaurant on our second visit, and evidently had a decent number of repeat and regular clients. All in all, couldn’t fault it. Try it if you are in the area, but book beforehand.

This restaurant had been recommended and we had booked a table for 7.15 pm on a Thursday evening.
The restaurant was full and very busy. Our table for two was uncomfortably close to the next one.
We shared the baby calamari starter which was freshly cooked and tasty and our main dishes were very good and nicely presented. We had to wait some time for the dessert menu and had to ask twice and felt that once we had eaten the mains, we were no longer of interest!
The waitresses were very friendly and made a fuss of those who were obviously 'regular' diners ....... a bit over-fussy.Overall it was an enjoyable meal.
I'm not sure I felt a valued customer though.
