A lovely chic Italian Restaurant with friendly staff and super food. I go with my family and friends on special occasions and always get a warm welcome. The owner makes a point of coming over to our table to say hello. The food is always consistently good. Highly recommended

The food was really excellent, the three of us having different dishes, all very good, the service very slick without being overbearing, highly recommended

A nice meal in pleasant surroundings. We decided to try the set menu, which was really good. The salmon and calves liver was great. I would recommend the restaurant as the food was excellent.

I ordered the lasagne and my wife ordered the spaghetti with clams. I really enjoyed the lasagne it was very delicious and garnished with just the right amount of mozzarella. My only complaint was the size of the desert. We ordered the tiramisu and it was quite small and I thought it was somewhat overpriced considering the size. It was very good though.

Only my second visit but great food with amazing service both times and a good atmosphere. Nearly full of people at 7.15 on a Tuesday, that tells you something...

A very busy place on a Saturday night and you can see why. Staff are lovely and food is excellent. We enjoyed the mussels for starters and then we both had fish (Coda di rospo griglia and Filette di sogliola). Both were delicious and we cleaned our plates. For dessert we shared a lovely sharp raspberry sorbet. Topped off with a couple of glasses of the Pinot blush it was a truly lovely evening. Service was prompt despite being busy. A lovely meal, reasonably priced. I suggest you book as we were lucky to get in.

La Locanda and its sister restaurant Pomodoro e Mozzarella are by far the best restaurants in Eastbourne.

Reasonably priced meals. I have visited this restaurant a number of times, but found the menu doesn't change much. Good service. A little noisy, although very busy..

Needed to get out and a friend came along. They felt they owed me a meal so I took a chance with La Locanda. We rang to book earlier which was proved to be necessary. On entering we were me by very well attired staff and seated. There was a big crowd and a birthday party.
There was a full italian choice as well as a typical Sunday fare menu. Friend started with a prawn cocktail which was very big and well oresented. Mine was a tomato and mozzarella etc. It was probably the best presentation of that starter I have come across. Main courses ordered were salmon and extra veg w/o potatoes and lamb cutlets with roasted veg and potatoes. The four cutlets were superb. My companion was very happy with the salmon dish. We both ordered tiramisu for afters and it was superb. Light fluffy cream and an even lighter sponge inside. Along the way we were given sorbets and the meal was preceded by olives and a lovely bread. All told we were very impressed. Top marks.

Have been to this restaurant before and have always enjoyed. The service is very good and we have always had good food. Olives and bread are put on the table when you arrive which is nice while you are having a drink. It is a bit expensive but on this occasion we also had the most wonderful live music which we felt added value to the evening. The music was performed by a guitarist called Mark Caira. I could listen to him all night and purchased his CD just so I could transport him home. He is going to be a regular background sound whilst we have dinner at home. We have already booked for another evening at this restaurant in the future when another musical evening is being held and we are visiting Eastbourne.

Dinner was so very, very good. Starters were exceptional scallops were large and juicy served with perfectly cooked spinach. Our mains of liver and veal were cooked to perfection both served with great pasta. Wines are very reasonably priced and there is a very good selection by the glass. Staff are polite and attentive as only Italian can be. Great coffee to Finnish.

Food was nice, but service very hit and miss. Had to ask for more drinks, then they didn’t arrive. It was a shame because we’d been before and we were very impressed.

Food excellent. Waiters great. Kitchen a little slow - even on a not so busy Tuesday evening. Very good value for money.

This is a delightful restaurant. Despite it being very busy when we visited as it was during the tennis tournament, the food was excellent and the service even better. Cassio our fabulous waiter was attentive, funny, friendly and really made our evening. I have since recommended this restaurant to other friends visiting Eastbourne, largely due to the outstanding service.
Well done Cassio.

I eat at this restaurant a few years ago and it as good as ever it was the best in Eastbourne. We had Sunday roast which was very good for a primarily Italian restaurant. The staff are very professional and friendly.

We visited this restaurant on a 2 night stay in Eastbourne, and really enjoyed it. We arrived on a Friday night, to a very busy restaurant, but the staff had us seated within minutes. Firstly, it was nice to see a restaurant that wasn't a typical chain. Food was fresh and delicious, service was very attentive without being too much. Food was reasonably priced - my wine was quite expensive, but I knew what I was ordering so cannot complain. We didn't realise they are affiliated with the restaurant next door too and only heard this from our taxi driver on our way home. We may have asked for a pizza had we known. Overall, well worth a visit.

My wife and I were recommended to this restaurant by the proprietors of the Belle Tout Lighthouse where we were staying.
WOW. The place was sensational. From the minute we walked in we new we were in for a treat.they didn't disappoint. The staff were smart, attentive and professional. The menus were offered together, our drinks requests were taken, simple but how often are you left waiting for both.. A great wine list of all prices and a very nice and varied menu. I had scallops and then half a lobster. All cooked to perfection. My wife had the liver which went down a treat. All in all a very pleasant evening. I wished I lived nearer. Brilliant.

I recently visited this lovely restaurant with my daughter and granddaughter for a birthday lunch. We had a most pleasant meal in lovely surroundings. We all chose from the set menu where you can have two or three courses. Plenty of variety there to please most people. The meal was finished off with a complementary limoncello - a nice touch.
